Great repair of cracked countertop. Pride in workmanship. Skills and experience show.

When we moved in, I had an ammonia spill on our gorgeous countertop. I bought a diamond brush kit online and got rid of the deep discoloration and went through 5 levels of hybrid sanders (300 to 3000) and yet was left with a large area of unpleasant deep scratches/grooves and the area was much harder to clean. I called 5 stone/marble companies and they consistently proved to be unreliable. Amazingly none of them showed up to their appointments nor called to reschedule, so I gave up. That was 3 years ago. I decided to retry this year and found one guy - Manny Guardiola (The Marble Guys). When he came by to take a look I could see how knowledgeable he was - he asked to see the sanding blocks I used and went on to explain how they are made, what they do to the stone, the type of "engineered" stone I had for my countertop and how the coating for the edges is processed to the underside where you can see a seam in the coating, etc.. He came the following week with an assistant and I forgot about the appointment and had just arrived in the city so I did the unthinkable, directed him to the garrage and gave him the code to open it and unarmed the alarm. The next two hours I traveled back to town I was contemplating my poor judgement and wondering what did I do? My wife and I had a terrible experience with contractors in the area including one defrauded us when we moved in and is still paying us through his criminal conviction so you can see why I felt idiotic... When I arrived (at around 11am) I saw a scene that was so impressive the I decide at that point already (before seeing the end result) that I would write this review...Take a look at the photo how he set up the work area protecting every single cabinet and the wood floors impeccably while working on the counter (two layers). They ended up working from 9am to 4pm (!) removing layers of scratches and blending into the large space of the counter. When I thought he was already done (it looked great), Manny told me he wasn't pleased with the way the new finish blends in with the sheen of the rest of the counter and went out to ACE to get a different polishing compound. He did not ask for overtime or change his original quote. The final result? Extremely well done, they cleaned up after the job and were just amazing! Highly recommended and fair pricing. Manny and his assistant just completed polishing and sealing stone shower floor. Beautiful job! Floor looks like new! He also did sections in the bathroom he noticed needed attention. The Marble Guys are quite incredible! We had a Marble Shower that needed restoration, dull from using the wrong products to clean it. Actually, Manny knew right away what the problem was and how to fix it. He has incredible insight and first hand knowledge about Marble. It did take some time to get the project finished as we needed to match our existing marble but the end result is perfection. We were so impressed that we did another shower, with less wrong, and it became indeed a masterpiece! You name it...floors will sparkle, walls, countertops.. Manny was rude, unprofessional, and disingenuous. He made me follow up with him numerous times just to get him to show up. Then he made excuse after excuse why he needed to come back another time. He has too many jobs and thinks he doesn't have to care about customer service. Don't use him unless you have time to waste. read more

Manny did an amazing job polishing my marble in my master bathroom, including inside of the shower stall. Living in Bergen county we have the hardest water, which leaves calicum deposits on marble. The postings below are from several weeks ago. I am very pleased to say that Manny did get back to me. He was out for a few weeks tending to a family issue. In fact he just finished doing the touch up work that I requested. The granite countertop looks great and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking to have their stone refinished or repaired. I have been calling these folks for two weeks regarding work they did for me a month ago. Manny filled two chips in my granite countertop and one of the chips is back to the same condition it was when he started. I am hoping Manny comes back and does the repair correctly. Based on all the great Yelp reviews I expect a call back this week. Several messages I left on the "800" number have not been returned. I will post again in the coming days to update on any progress. Never got a response to repeated phone messages to their office, and calls to Manny the person who comes to your house to do the work. In fact Manny's voicemail mailbox has been full for the past 4 days and I can't even leave him a message. I did send him a text but he never replied. My experience with The Marble Guys has been very poor. They have truly failed to live up to all the glowing reviews posted on Yelp. They did some work, I paid them in cash, they work they did failed and they are not willing to even return a phone call. Is this a company you really want to contract with? read more

Five Stars are not enough to recommend The Marble Guys. What outstanding work! I contracted Manny Guardiola, Stone Technician, to hone and polish my 20-year old marble bathroom. The outcome was more than I could possibly have expected. It looks brand new! All the terrible stains and spots are gone! The surface which was scratched and marred is now smooth and beautifully shiny. The grout is completely clean and looks brand new. My marble floor looks as though it had just been put down and is now absolutely gorgeous. Manny and his assistant also worked on my kitchen granite. It was sealed, cleaned, and polished and the shine is amazing. Manny then went to work my ceramic floor tiles and even cleaned the tile grout by hand, with a brush. The ceramic tile floor was then sealed and polished and looks beautiful. When the work was completed, everything was left clean and neat. I have recommended Manny Guardiola to my friends and neighbors. His work is impeccable and he is an example of how businesses should be run. The estimate and the price which I received was more than fair and better by far, when compared to other estimates I had received. After completion of the job, Manny even recommended the correct products to use on my granite, marble and stone to preserve its beauty. Manny is a perfectionist. We had a great experience with Manny. He came to the house as soon as I called and examined our 30 year old marble bathroom which has marble floors, shower walls, front and side walls of a jacuzzi. He gave us an estimate on the same day and set up a schedule to do the work. We were absolutely amazed at the transformation in our bathroom! Manny and his assistant didn't just completely refurbish the marble but also regrouted the entire bathroom. The marble looks better than it did when it was brand new. Update from my previous review. Lacking professionalism in terms of his deliverable. A follow-up visit for a kitchen sink change and installation for a granite counter-top. He originally presented that he will be working with a plumber to do the work as we have an instant hot water and garbage disposal in addition to the faucet. During the last visit, he says the plumber is no longer available and claims that he "thinks" he can do the job although he does not have all of the plumbing tools and he is not certain about garbage disposal and instant hot water. He is not a plumber, yet he is charging for all of the plumbing fees, plus indicates that I should go and find a local plumber, in case he messes up. During the past communications, doing the plumbing work by himself was not mentioned once. Very disappointing communications and handling. Changes his story and busy coming up with excuses. Greed will cost a good customer. He is the counter-top and floor polishing guy and he is good at it. However, I would not recommend him to do anything else. Will not work with him again. read more

I contacted Manny with the Marble Guys to come look at a cracked countertop that I wanted to have repaired. Manny came to the house the next day and provided a quote a day later... Since that time he has been completely unresponsive. I accepted the proposal but I cannot get the work scheduled to save my life... Very unresponsive and unprofessional... Apparently they are only looking for easy stuff to do even though they quoted the job and I asked him to proceed. Hopefully I will find someone more reliable! Disappointing as I am new to the area and not familiar with who does this work... hopefully other companies don't run the same type of business. read more

Wow! They called back promptly, showed up for an estimate and made our, dull, ugly, marble floors so bright and clean, I could swear they were new! All the etching is gone! You will not disappointed with the results. I should have called them sooner. And at a reasonable price. read more

We were looking to repair an ugly crack in the kitchen counter top by the sink. Internet research proved that this is quite a common problem with granite. Manny repairs and restores blemished countertops into shiny and bright countertops again. When my wife and I bought our house we were blown away by the beautiful, almost all marble bathroom. We had no idea how delicate marble can be. During the four years we have lived here we began to notice "dull spots" appearing on the countertop and floor. I went on YouTube to find out how to clean these spots and found several videos demonstrating several different products and techniques on how to deal with these spots called "etching". I didn't want to experiment with any of this for the first time on such an expensive surface and remembered the corny warning from daredevils: Kids, don't try this at home,leave it to professionals. So that's what I did. I decided to take a chance with Manny from MG The Marble Guys. He and his crew spent over five hours polishing and sealing all of the marble surfaces of our bathroom. They are consummate professionals. Our bathroom looks better than it did when we bought the house. Manny made sure to tell us how to maintain this look and what cleansers and techniques to use in the future. His price was fair and his work was great. We will be using him again to refurbish the granite countertops in our kitchen and to do some repairs to an interior stone wall in our living room. My high-grade granite was expensive and then unfortunately installed incorrectly. after a few years, an unsightly crack grew in the most visible spot and was spreading - i was pretty certain i would have to replace it when i found manny's company. The marble counter and floor in my bathroom was looking dull, too. Manny answered the phone on the first try, came the same day to diagnose the problems and do an itemized estimate, and promptly scheduled my work. He and his employee were professional, flexible, and inspired my confidence. They worked efficiently and thoroughly, and I enjoyed having them in my home. The granite repair is excellent, blended better than i thought possible, and the marble actually looks better than new. I plan to hire the Marble Guys again in future to revitalize my foyer marble floor and sunroom limestone floor. Recommend without hesitation! read more
