JOB: Paint livingroom & foyer, remove old baseboard & window moldings install new. Install 3 new doors. Run wires for TV, install wall mount & TV. Skim coat & paint bathroom. Tile over existing tile floor & reglaze tiles. Issues: Painting/molding- 1. Painting around light switch rather than removing as a professional would. (picture attached) 2. Incorrect paint finish used on bathroom walls which led to cracking & now has to be redone (picture attached) 3. Fail to sand bathroom door frame (picture) 4. Sloppy seams and excessive chalk used on new baseboard moldings (pictures) 5. Used cut baseboard molding for window molding rather than using what I showed him matching what was in my bedroom. TV- 1. Unaware of what wires to pull which lead me running to spectrum to find out. a. If a contractor accepts a job, it's reasonable to expect them to know how to fully complete not ask me in the middle of doing it. 2. Wanting to plaster around pulled HDMI cable after pulling it. What does one do if wire needs to be replaced break the wall? a. There are switch plates for this, I am a female who works in finance - how do I know this and not a professional contractor? 3. Multiple attempts to hang TV mount with no attempt to repair holes left. (picture) 4. Nail Damaged spectrum wire. After job was complete, had to have spectrum rerun a new wire. I removed old wire, repaired holes and painted. Damage to home- 1. Numerous scratches left on my wood floor (pictures) 2. Someone/ thing slammed into foyer light breaking inner light bulb, nearly got glass in my face when I removed it to clean. I find no joy in leaving a negative review however would not want someone else going thru what I did. **Updated in response to company** I had no intention on responding but my review was 100% honest, I can't say the same for the response. This is 100% a lie... "In regards to plastering around an hdmi cable, we simply asked if we should do so, so that there isn't a large plate on the wall or if they would like a plate installed. This has been done both ways and is simply a matter of preference. As shown in the picture, with holes behind the tv bracket, would love the opportunity to correct if allowed." You did not ask! I asked you and if I didnt you would have plastered around the wire. There was no option given you did not even have the plate to use. I had to run to Home Depot to get your crew the plate. Additionally you were given the opportunity to correct the holes as you were made aware prior to final day; you made the concious choice not to. This is a lie as well " The following day, the scratch was brought to our attention. Of course, this was very distressing and immediately offered to have the floors refinished." Per text On Friday 1/6 at 10:07am you advised " I can come back with golden oak and blend it in. It will still be slightly noticeable but not to someone not looking for it" I responded back on Friday 1/6 10:14am. I did not hear back until Monday at 10:57am but this time I had already went to home depot and made the best of situation left. To my knowledge golden oak and refinishing floors are not the same, moot point. I am sure you are capable of fanatastic work but that isn't what was provided to me. As you are aware there were other issues, missed paint spots that I had to touch up. The picture of molding is just one spot there were many. Wanting to tile around the toliet bowl. I hired Ben and his…read morecrew to paint my apartment last December, and ultimately I wish I had gone with a different painting crew. The problems were myriad, including: 1) A shoddy paint job showing a lack of attention to detail. As you can see from my attached photos, there were large splotches of mismatched colored walls in my closet, and a doorframe to one of my closets was obviously not painted carefully as evidenced by the poor finished product. Dried speckles of paint were sprinkled literally all throughout my apartment's floors. I spent well over 8 hours cleaning off all of the dried paint that these guys left behind on my apartment's floors, so they quite clearly do not cover the floors with any protective layer, nor do they demonstrate any care when doing the actual painting. 2) Garbage left in my sinks, and dried paint left behind all over my sinks and bath tubs. Totally understandable that these guys would wash their equipment in my apartment, but totally unacceptable for them to leave a mess of dried paint caked all over my sinks and bath tubs that I had to clean myself. 3) Poor communication and lack of follow up when these problems were brought to their attention. I sent numerous emails to Ben about these problems and gave him multiple opportunities to fix them, but he simply stopped returning the emails. Clearly, Ben and his company show little concern or care for ensuring customer satisfaction. All in all, I would absolutely NOT recommend hiring Ben and his crew for your next paint job. While they are definitely not the most expensive paint crew, the old adage 'you get what you pay for' is quite evident here. The shoddy craftsmanship, piss poor communication, general carelessness and inattention to detail, and disregard for customer satisfaction all add up to money that is most definitely not well spent here, and I would highly recommend NOT hiring Ben and his crew to paint your next project.

He was supposed to paint the whole apartment but he deliberately skipped some areas including a partial wall painted in gray primer where the whole apartment is painted in white. We had to chase him down for more than two months and ended up giving up and hiring another contractor to finish the job.

The paint job was a sloppy mess. Than the wood cases started to peel. We told him that he never sanded the existing oil. He insisted he did. He had a Benjamin Moore rep come to the house who told him that the casing were not sanded enough. Ross decided to strip it with peel away. He never had enough workers to do the job properly so the peel away dried and created a mess. All the wood casings needed heavy sanding since he never cleaned it. It was like he had no idea how to use the striper. We are two months into painting one room with no end in sight. We are now arguing about sanding the horrible strip job. My advice do not hire them!!!!!

I did the "adult" thing & got three quotes. The other two were late, wish washy, cheaper but would take a long time. Anyone who has had work done or painting knows that having a bunch of strangers in your home sucks & creates chaos. Best to pay more to get the job done. Ross from Precision painting showed up on time (usually early during the job), had an industry discount with high-end Farrow & Ball paint, & left me his business card like a professional. He also knew about priming over different colors & surfaces & what my specific project needed for gloss levels, etc. Ross' quote was reasonable & he would be faster than the other guys. I confirmed with the woman holding down the organized office & decided to sign with them. Of course I added in wallpaper on the ceiling & crown moulding after I asked & Ross was calm about it, "yeah, we can do that" is not what I am used to hearing. He didn't second guess my wants as a woman & had capable men on hand to really make my dream room come true versus settling. We readjusted the quote to add in the new work & ALL FINANCIAL & TIME PARAMETERS WERE 100% CLEAR. There were no games around money or time- no saying he'd show up & then nothing. His crew were the best. They came early & were good people. Minimal mess. I have had all of this work done multiple times in the past with horrible messes & dust. I feel traumatized by past work but Ross + Precision Painting job was unbelievable. The room before was OK but boring & simplistic plus kind of messy & a bad paint job. The room now is my dream come to life. Thank you!!! No touch ups, no complaints, just perfection & precision!
