I had water damage to one of my room upstairs due to a radiator leak. I wasn't sure if we needed to do just the 1 room or the whole upstairs since the wood is all connected. When I had spoken to him on the phone he said there may be a slightly different color if we do just the one room. So before he came out, I asked if he can get us both quotes. He came out when I wasn't home but my wife was. He didn't measure anything. Look at the room where the damage was and left. He didn't look at the rest of the upstairs. I didn't get a message for him so I texted him. He gave me a quote for the one room. I asked, do you have a quote for how much it would be for the whole upstairs. He said he didn't look at the other room upstairs. I described the size of the other room upstairs and he texted back with a quote. I asked if you can send me in writing the 2 quotes. He said he has to charge me $150 for the quotes. Then I said, "What? Why?" He never responded. Just in case he didn't see it, I text him again the next day. He didn't respond again. Michael spent time explaining to me how stains last and the type of stains that could go towards the orange color I was trying to avoid. He sent me pictures and was very helpful in the process of picking a stain and finish. While Michael and his team were working, they noticed some areas that still had carpet and staples (which were supposed to be removed by our General Contractor, but did not do a great job), and he volunteered to remove it, and was happy to do it! Once all the work was done, my husband and I checked to see how everything looked and we loved it!!! Everything looked so fresh and the stain we selected (weathered oak) looked stunning! I love how everything blended in so well and the stain looked so natural. The team did an AMAZING JOB!!! My wife and I are planning to remodel our kitchen this summer. We have put in our vacation time at work and since we know our dates and timeline, wanted to be proactive in getting cabinets and countertops ordered and scheduled. We have close friends who just did their kitchen and recommended Cabinets to Go, so we decided to head over and check it out. We did not make an appointment, so when we arrived and had to wait an hour to speak with someone, which we understood. Once it was our turn, Donnette greeted us and was very kind. She was pleasant and made us feel at ease. She walked us through the process of picking cabinets, flooring and a countertop. She created a layout of our kitchen and provided a printed rendering of how it will look. We were very satisfied and went home feeling great. We needed to provide a few additional measurements, but Donnette called us that evening so I could provide them and we spoke about a possible need to choose a new countertop option because, she stated that the choice we made was in fact, much more expensive than she originally thought. She said she would email a new rendering with the final dimensions added, and she did that later that evening. My wife and I were, again, very pleased. A few days later, my wife emailed Donnette to let her know that we would definitely like to move forward with the project and would like to schedule time to pick a new countertop option that fit our budget. After a couple of days with no response, I then emailed requesting confirmation of our previous email. After a few more days with no response, we started trying to call. Upon multiple attempts to call, during the week, and getting no one to answer, we emailed another time, specifically requesting again, to schedule time to pick new countertops and to finalize things and set a date to begin installation. No response, again. After about two more weeks, I tried calling again, this time in the weekend, and was able to get through. I was not able to speak to Donnette, but did explain to the person who answered, my situation and express my frustration with the lack of response, to which I was met with some gaslighting statements masked in trying to "explain". Later that evening, Donnette called me back. She acted a bit confused, at first, but did apologize and say "you are correct" a number of times. Ultimately, however, she too began trying to explain why we never received a response and said it was due to email settings not bringing our email to the top. LOL! Literally had me laughing. I felt disrespected, and like I was being treated as if I were dumb. At that point, I was done, but my wife decided we should give he4 another chance and we made an apoptosis go in the next weekend. Donnette assured me, multiple times, that she was holding noon until 1:00PM for us. When we arrived, she was with customers working on a design. It was exactly noon at this point. We said hello and Donnette greeted us. She assured us she would be with us shortly. Unfortunately, after 25 minutes, it became clear that the customers she was working with had just begun the design process and that our appointment meant nothing. We decided, at that point, that we were done. We left the store, without getting to pick new countertops or finalize anything. We were ready to put our deposit and get things set when we walked in, so we were extremely disappointed. Later that night the emails and calls began. From that day forward, Donnette was relentless. I never responded, but my wife decided to give them another chance. She spoke with Donnette and started working on finalizing things and setting dates, then says that we want to pay a deposit. Unbeknownst to us until this point, Cabinets to Go requires full payment for everything up front. My wife was stunned, so she called me. I was stunned. We have the money to pay, but we do not feel comfortable with being locked into such a large project from start to finish having no proof of any work or adherence to an established timeline. I have worked with many contractors and was once one myself, and no one asks for full payment up front. Max would be 50%, and I would be much more comfortable with 30% or even better, 20% up front and then two or three more installments as work milestones are completed. That, my friends. Was the last we will ever deal with Cabinets to Go. I will forever discourage anyone from paying a contractor in full before having any work completed. Pay a deposit and then pay in at least two more increments as you have proof of work completion and satisfaction.

They transformed my tiny galley kitchen-- with no dishwasher, almost no counter space, and cramped cabinets-- into a big, beautiful kitchen with a huge island, dishwasher, range hood, cabinets, and drawers galore, an inviting space to which guests are drawn to gather. I look forward to cooking and baking more than ever because everything is easier-- even cleaning up, because there is a place for everything, even the trash, all hidden from sight. It feels like they added an extra room without taking up any space-- the place looks and feels bigger. Charlie got the ball rolling, coming over to give me what a I considered a very fair estimate, measure the space, and discuss with me at length what I hoped to achieve. He recommended Marc with AMC Granite & Cabinetry to help me nail down the layout and provide the beautiful maple cabinets and granite countertops. The tile work was exceptional. My concept for the backsplash was not exactly conventional, but tile master Mike was willing to help me figure out how to pull it off. Mike is also a master plumber, and Joe a master electrician, so it's one stop shopping: They take care of everything. The work area was neatly sectioned off with plastic, so no dust got into the rest of my living space. Pro Bros broke all the stereotypes of contractors who don't communicate, don't show up, etc. The lines of communication were always open, they showed up when promised, cleaned up after themselves, and got the job done in the agreed-upon time frame. The workmanship was top notch, the cost fair and reasonable. Brothers Mike, Joe and Charlie, and their entire crew, were all professional, personable, and considerate of my time and space. It was a pleasure having them around and I absolutely love the results. I'd give them 11 out of 10 stars if I could. And I can't wait until they redo my bathroom!
