There is nothing good about Amber's work. It is a shame that she managed to get her cosmetology license and I am surprised that she has managed to find work. Firstly, the prices are high. I wanted an in-home hair service, so I expected to pay slightly more for the travel costs. After factoring out the average cost of professional hair dye (which she used five boxes of), I paid $300 for six hours of work. This is the equivalent of $50 an hour. Who makes $50 an hour? A judge, a dentist, and a lawyer. In other words, what makes her qualified to charge this much with only one year of education (especially when she does a poor job)? The other jobs I listed require high level graduate degrees with many years of practical training before being fully licensed. She also tried to coerce me into coming to her salon, despite me requesting in-home services. Not only is this unprofessional and rude, if she doesn't want to offer in-home services, then she should remove them from her site. She said that it would be impossible for her to bring her portable sink to my apartment because the devices are not compatible. She spent six hours dyeing my hair brown over a pink color, under which it was completely blonde. She managed to leave a clear line of demarcation where the root changes to brown. I wanted the ends blonde. She colored them gray and then said that it would be "impossible" to leave the ends light. It may be impossible for someone of her skill level, but I assure you that leaving blonde light has been easy for other skilled hairdressers I have seen. I suppose the difference here is that the past hairdressers were skilled. She then proceeded to convince me that my hair looked good under the floodlight in my bathroom, because naturally I walk around with a floodlight at all times so that my hair can look decent. She left without fixing it and I did not accept her offers to fix it because she manipulated me into thinking it was good. She then later said that the opposite had happened. However, in this instance I expected the professional to exercise fair judgment on the quality of work. Then, I had my partner take some pictures in natural light and I saw how absolutely awful the dye job was. It is splotchy, whereas the definition of a color melt provided by dearclark.com is: "Color melting is a technique that blends highlights with the base color of your hair so there's no harsh lines or clear distinction between the different colors." Then, after she left I noticed that my skin was beginning to burn and that my lymph nodes were completely swollen and my throat was beginning to swell. I had to call a nurse to get instructions on how to treat an allergic reaction. I still have first degree burns on my face. I called Amber to explain that I wanted my money back. She accused me of threatening her when I said I would leave a review. She told me that it was "impossible" for her to have burned and that my hair looked "bad" before she did it. She said that she would have to think about whether or not she could give me a refund, then refused to refund stating that I was satisfied with the color in previous texts, completely omitting the part where she said I had a few days to decide if I was satisfied with the color. Save your money and go somewhere that actually listens to the customer and doesn't have severe quality issues and a problem with customer service. Amber, you're bad and you should feel bad. Just for fun, here's a list of things that you could buy for $450: 1 Xbox 360 and 2 controllers ($450) 1 month's rent for a studio apartment ($450) 2 month's worth of groceries ($400) 3 balayage hair colorings anywhere in Eugene (avg price ~$125 per service) 2 ultrasounds without insurance ($200-$300 per ultrasound) 4 tickets to Disney World ($436)

i'm pretty much home bound for now & having a service like amber's -- in home hair styling & pedi…read more-- is truly something to be thankful for. amber arrived on time bringing an entire salon w/her. she had everything necessary AND the expertise. i hadn't had a hair cut in 4 months & she did a great job styling the unruly mess my hair had become. likewise, the pedi she gave me was one of the best i've ever had. i just wish her service was around in 2013 when i had back surgery! i couldn't find anyone available at that time that provided in home service. she did such a wonderful job on my hair & feet i would patronize her if she were in a brick & mortar salon. i hope to use her service during my recovery & i'm so grateful she provides in home service. amber is very personable & an expert in her field. i'm so glad i found her service.

By the way threading is an amazing thing and much better than waxing so Eugene needs to catch on! The eyebrow place is in a little kiosk stand in the valley river center mall. Yup, people can just walk on by and watch as you get your eyebrows fixed. Although that doesn't bother me, I actually encourage it. $13 for eyebrow threading... Much steeper than the $4 it costs in NY. When you get there you sign the sign in sheet, I never waited more than ten minutes. To get your eyebrows threaded only takes a maximum of two minutes which I love! The older woman who works there is by far the best! She perfectly shapes my eyebrows every time. The younger lady once made my eyebrows way way way to thin and I suffered for months waiting for them to grow back. Needless to say, just make sure you tell them what you want. If there is a line of people they rush and don't do as good of a job so when they hand you the mirror asking if everything looks okay, if you see problem areas or missed hairs make sure you speak up!!! I made the mistake of not saying anything and I had to go home and pluck out all the extra pesky hairs. Overall this place works for me and the majority of the time they do a good job. Just make sure you speak up and don't let them rush you!

After a change in dental insurance, resulting in a change in orthodontists, we discovered that there was irreversible damage to the roots of her four front, upper teeth as a result of the shoddy work done by Dennis Trammell. It's definitely a good thing we didn't go forward with the next wave of treatment proposed by him since it would have lead to a severe underbite and further damage that would have eventually led to tooth loss. She would have likely ended up with flippers for her front teeth at a very young age. It cost us thousands of dollars in shoddy work from Trammell that could have been devastating for my daughter. Unfortunately, I also had orthodontics done by Trammell during the same time frame and I now have trouble chewing my food. When I complained to him about my bite and told him that my dentist was appalled by the results, he replied "it looks good to me." Thousands of dollars later, my bite is way off and my dentist is attempting to help me correct it, although it looks like another round of orthodontics to correct the problems created by Trammell's work will be necessary.
