My go to Mexican spot! Great margs, chips, salsa, guacamole, queso and service!! always loved the food!

Firstly, I'm from Wisconsin. We have sub-standard Mexican food there. By comparison, Wisconsin Mexican is Gourmet. This was, by far, the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. My hardshell taco was a pile of mush. My chimichanga was 4" of rolled up, deep fried soft taco shell with a smattering of rice and chicken. It had zero flavor and was so dry you could sand furniture with it. The hostess was very rude to a member of our party and extremely curt while seating us. I grant Mi Casa zero stars, and plead for them to quit the food service business and reconsider their collective career choices. read more

Went there for late lunch today...around 3:15. Not busy, seated outside. Took server almost 5 minutes to come to us. We asked for menu and we're told we had to scan the code and use that in our phone. People at other table had menu she wouldn't give us one. Decided to sweep outside area while we were eating !! Food was ok. When i got my check $13.97 I gave her a $20 and she asked if I wanted change!!! When she brought back my change I didn't get the coins back. Not the money but the principle. Mi Casa Restaurant - Mexican Near Me - Riverview, Florida

This restaurant is not a good choice for anyone wanting a good atmosphere and hot food. The service is pushy towards the customer. I did not feel comfortable telling the server or manager my food was cold the cheese in my enchiladas was not melted at all two different nights I ate there. The last straw was when I ordered enchiladas and they had the wrong sauce on them when I mentioned this to the server and manager I was offered a small cup on the side of the right sauce. I also found meat on my plate there was no reason to have meat on my plate, I am a vegetarian I found the mistakes in my dining to be unacceptable. I don't drink and I don't eat steak so I can't find any reason to eat there because the Mexican part of the restaurant is very poor. read more

On my first visit here, I just left this restaurant and I was very disappointed! I asked for a table (inside or out) for two and the wait was 30 minutes- not too bad considering it's a Friday night. The waiting area was full. Another guy walked up after me and asked for a table for 7. The host said there was a wait. The guy said there's empty tables outside.The host said they're wet but will get someone to wipe them off. Little did they know I also speak Spanish (my first language). The host sat them before everyone waiting. I spoke to the manager, he apologized and offered to seat my wife and I immediately. I refused and left. If the other patrons did not understand Spanish they did not know what just happened. Will NOT go there again. read more

Desperate for decent Mexican fare NOT served from a motor home or trailer in Ruskin, I happened upon this place just yesterday. I had the waiter recommended Corona's (w/lime slice) and then chose the "sloppy" nachos with the optional ground beef add-on for lunch. I say "sloppy" because they come in a "neat" version, but where's the fun in that? I will return to try more of their fare but will say this about their Nachos. They're VERY good. The chips and salsa served gratuitously with the ice cold Coronas were very good as well (they have a VERY good salsa, I requested two refills). So back to these nachos...LOTS of toppings...sour cream, guacamole, cheese etc. A veritable MOUNTAIN that one man cannot get through (I threw in the towel at about 1/2 way through). I was adding the salsa to the top of my nachos as I crunched my way through that pile of goodness in order to keep it from getting my chips soggy. My dining neighbors had some excellent looking dishes that I cannot wait to try out. This place def gets two thumbs up from this diner! Oh...and the service was MOST excellent and the prices were very reasonable! On this day, I had a waiter named Eddie who was familiar with their menu, attentive, helpful, very pleasant to chat with and an all around super-nice guy! What more could a diner ask for?! read more

They have good food ( but their pricing has gone up. For half the tables open you should not have to ask for more chips or refills on soda

My husband loves Mexican food and thinks chips and salsa is a food group. We were not disappointed in any way on our visit. Our waitress was attentive and on point. The chips and salsa were great, food was delicious as well as the margaritas. People were relaxed and happy as nice music played. The interior is very nicely painted and decorated. This Restaurant is Awesome!! The Manager Saul has an amazing team, My husband and I have visited this restaurant more than 5 times and they are consistent in their exceptional customer service. We were waited on today by Sebastian a fairly new waiter(according to Saul his manager). Sebastian gave us great customer service!! He was very attentive, polite, and on point with absolutely everything from the minute we sat at the table. I Highly recommend this restaurant. Visited Mi Casa last night. It was very busy so we went to bar to wait. My son is not 21 so I asked the bartender if we could sit at high top table in bar area, he said yes but then reprimanded the waiter for taking our order. My husband spoke with hostess, and she said it was fine for us to eat there. We ordered dinner. My husband ordered another bottled beer and wine for me as our dinner had not yet arrived. He took a sip of his beer - looked at me, said it tasted like water. I sipped it - yes, dirty water. I poured some from the bottle into an empty wine glass. Water, dirty water. Dinner arrived without the meat for the fajitas. We waited for the server to return with the chicken. My husband told the waiter, showed him the water that was coming out of the bottle. He was disgusted also. The waiter returned after speaking with the bartender, who was laughing. We turned down the offer of a new bottle of beer- paid and left. Drinking dirty dishwater ruined our appetite. Will never return to this establishment. read more

I would have rated this a 5 but the food prices are a little high. I read all the previous reviews and despite the fact that everyone said the service was bad I went and ate. I got excellent service drinks took four minutes the meal took eight. Excellent!!! I got great service with a smile and the manager even stopped to talk to me. I had the chile relleno with rice and beans with the red sangria all of it was fantastic. Please go here and give them a chance. I will be going back. :) read more

Food was great! Service was very poor. We waited over 5 minutes for someone to come to our table to ask if we wanted drinks. No apologies for our wait. It was not busy. Many tables open. It was 2pm. After our food came, our server never came back to ask how the food was or if we needed anything. I will look elsewhere in the area for better service before I come back here. Hopefully after the reviews I read on here how poor the service is-- they will take notice and improve! read more

This place is delicious. Their chips and salsa are so fresh and housemade. You must try their bacon wrapped shrimp! It's to live for!

Food came out within 5 minutes after ordering but our drinks didn't come out until we were 3/4 done eating. The enchilada de mole was absolutely gross but gordos wet burrito was pretty good. Margarita was only $5 despite not getting to enjoy it before or during majority of my meal. read more

Ok so let me start with the fact that I went there knowing I had read all the reviews. I normally don't like this kind of Mexican food. So the waitress was definitely Bipolar. She had an attitude one minute and then sweet the next. Margarita was ok. I ordered chicken quesadilla and it was ok as well. The side of black beans were as if it went from The can to plate. Second time trying to eat here. The first time I went here, there was a 40 min wait for to go orders and for getting a table, no biggie (restaurants have waits). I ended not waiting. This second time, I called and asked what the wait time was. The girl on the phone said "there is no wait time at all come on in". So I hopped in my car and drove 10 mins. When I got there people were waiting outside and inside. No hostess to be found for 10 mins. All the staff were on their phones not paying attention. When the staff finally came over to help the people in line plus people waiting for their pick-up orders, they told us there was a 25-35 min wait on top of having to wait there to even talk to anybody. I just left as i might have to wait longer anyways for food after being seated as I can tell the staff has no sense of urgency at all nor care about customers. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for about a year. The food has always been delicious. I have tried a variety of items on the menu. I usually dine there at lunch time and always get seated right away. Love the lunch menu, great food combos. Their complimentary tortilla chips are warm and tasty. The salsa is excellent with just the right heat. The portions are perfect, filling and satisfying! Good value. The wait staff are very friendly and accommodating. read more

Food is ok for it being a Mexican restaurant. I'm Mexican myself just wish the tortilla where made and not the store bought ones. They are always busy so most of the weekends it's very crowded. Bathrooms are clean so that's a plus. And servers are good too. read more

Terrible service. I have given this 5 tries and every single time the service was terrible. It's the only Mexican restaurant that is sit down and has margaritas in the area. Food was average but service is terrible. The wait staff will blame it on the kitchen staff and the manager is more worried about cutting staff to save labor money. Good local place, great drinks lil pricey if you order 'top shelf' tequila. There are some happy hour drinks. Sat in bar area good music, ships and salsa decent and quick. decor is cute and service was quick at first. It got really crowded about 7pm and Cancun wrap took forever to be served but was hot and tasty. Do not listen to other helpers on this one, overall good place close to home. Unfortunately this restaurant has so much potential and it seems they can't be bothered w it. It's not expensive but compared to similar restaurants they could do better. There is a lot Mexican restaurants closer to better atmospheres that offer better food for better prices. Having moved from San Diego, I was craving Mexican food so we decided to try this place. We've tried this place a few times and had different dishes from tacos to burritos to flautas to the fish. I would say the food is ok. It fills a craving but nothing we get excited about. Their salsa is alright but we won't be having their queso again. The queso was very bland. I am pleased every time I visit Mi Casa! The food is wonderful and suits any appetite, the portions are generous and the pricing is fair and they have great drink specials too. The seating area's a bright and clean and the staff has always been very attentive. I've been eating here since their grand opening and cannot understand the less favorable reviews. The food is bland, bland, bland. The service ranges from poor to infuriating. You ALWAYS have to wait to be greeted by the hostess no matter how busy or slow they are. I think they get a kick out of ignoring people. Went in the other night because my husband wanted Mexican food. I drove 20min to go to eat at this restaurant. I arrived at 9:01pm, the hosts came to the door when I opened the door, she says to me they were closed. I say to her I drove 20 min to eat there with my family. She says no we are closed, I asked her to ask the manager if he can make an exception. She says no. And turns her back on me. I wish I read all the bad reviews before attempting to go to this place! Ps. They close at 9:00. Lots of people still eating some others getting served. read more
