I've driven past this juice bar so many times. Since I'm diabetic I wasn't sure what I could get there. Juice is not ideal for me. It contains too much sugar. My interest peaked recently when a new sign was placed outside the store, which read something to the effect, "We now have breakfast." Yesterday, I was busy running errands in East Greenbush. The goal was to get to the juice bar for breakfast but by the time I was done with errands it was 2pm. I decided to visit anyway. Inside, it's clean and cheerful looking with bright yellow walls. It has the look of a luncheonette with food on display behind the counters with glass dividers. It looked as though lunch was winding down. There was one man still seated at a table finishing his meal. Diners had their choice of a variety Ecuadorian chicken dishes as well as beef stew and roast pork. It looked as though they'd served up a great deal of pork at lunchtime but there was still some left. So I asked for pork with yellow rice and beans. I asked to try both the black and the pink beans. The young woman who served the food gave me huge portions. The cost came out to $15.12 but I knew I would be eating this large meal for days. When I brought my takeout order home, it smelled great. It tasted even better. It was a hearty and delicious meal. I managed to eat about half and was very full. I saved the rest for the next days lunch. Next time, I'd like to try a chicken dish. I hope that one of these days I'll get started early enough to actually show up for breakfast as I intended. read more

Time is running out to come and get your Ecuadorian juice and food on. Sadly to say they will be closing soon. No timeframe but the mom and pop who are well into their 70's are moving back to Ecuador and closing shop. Till this day this place does not disappoint. Service is top notch and the genuine Ecuadorian decorations will be missed. Lunch and dinner meals still cost $13 and you get a lot for what you pay. If you haven't tired them I can't highly recommend them enough. read more

I ordered food delivered from here, and it was so good I've been thinking about it intermittently for days since. I got the roast pork with rice and beans, a side of pico de gallo and a chicken and cheese empanada. The pork was tender; juicy and super flavorful, and the rice and beans were well-seasoned. The pico de gallo came in a pretty big generous container and was very tasty, but next time I might try a different salad and ask for double of the green hot sauce that came free with the meal -- it was delicious. I also tried a chicken and cheese empanada, which was tasty but overshadowed by the other stuff. I'm 100% ordering from here again -- probably one of the family-sized dinner specials, so I can get my friends and family hooked too. read more

I placed a takeout order Bustec Encebollado , large beef soup,blueberry smoothie and tres leches. The Bustec Encebollada consisted of tender cuts of beef, plantains, and onions. I must say that the meal was absolutely fantastic! The meat was very tender and moist. It was very good quality meat and the plantains were ever so tender as well. They came with the side order of beans which complemented it well. The portion was huge and I had to save half of it for the next day. The large beef soup was a tender mixture of succulent beef, potatoes and carrots in a savory beef broth. It was delicious and large enough as well to where I had to save half for the next day. The. Tres Leches was an absolutely delicious light cake soaked in milk, but not having that soggy consistency as the cake has air bubbles throughout it. The blueberry smoothie was good, but it needed a little work with the mixture ratio of milk versus blueberries-needing a little bit more milk. Sometimes smoothies need to be filtered through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to get rid of the grit from the fruit bits. The juice bar was very well laid out and very clean, with a small seating area available should you choose to eat in. The service was friendly and attentive. It is located on the corner of Sherwood Avenue and Route 4-Columbia Turnpike in Rensselaer. I was very impressed and will return again to order again! Well done Mi Ecuador! read more

My husband and I had a Friday night without our kids so we decided to try this local place out. I've heard good things and finally got the perfect time to try this place out. The food was amazing, fresh, and delicious!! I am happy that we tried them out and will definitely be returning. We had plenty of leftovers and will be sharing with the kids. All COVID-19 rules were followed as the workers all had masks on and gloves. I'm only sad that we didn't try this place earlier than now. Looking forward to eating more and getting juices! read more

Located in a small Plaza near the old Kmart, on opposite side. The mofungo is to die for, I tried the pork. First time I had it was at a food truck in Florida and this place tasted authentically the same. I also tried a beef empanada very delicious. They have many entrees to pick from so cant wait to go back land try more. read more

A quick stop in our Saturday travels. I was along for the ride and they had eaten here before. They recommended the Chicken Stew and it was wonderfully homemade. I chose the yellow rice and ripe plantains. We also added a fresh tomato and onion salad which needed a lot of oil, vinegar, salt and pepper to spice it up but it ended a real integral part of a super meal. Ecuador comes to Rensselaer in the quaint little cafe disguised as a Juice Bar. What's even more amazing is that they've been here for five years. My first trip to MI Ecuador was last night when my son suggested Ecuadorian food for dinner. Of course being a full blooded Italian that wasn't really what sounded good but I decided to be open minded (a 2022 goal). I had the steak and rice with onions, peppers, and plantains. Holy Cow. The story doesn't end there. I thought about that dinner all day today. I normally hate rice. Not theirs!!!! I got home from work today, called my kids and asked them if they felt like Ecuadorian food again tonight. They were down. I ordered the Mi Ecuador special and a Side of rice and beans. For my oldest, he ordered the Chaulafan, and youngest the special roasted pork. It was a ton of food for an unbelievably reasonable price. I drove home, opened the truck door, and Boom both bags ripped spilling the wonderful smelling food all over the drive. Devastating!!! Still hungry and now approaching 6:30 pm I called them back and re-ordered the meal and asked if they could rush it. They accommodated....20 mins. I drove back down, they were apologetic and Had my replacement dinners ready to go.....NO CHARGE!!! What? I offered twice and they said no. If it were a step up from dog food they'd have a customer for life. That FORTUNATELY is not the case. The food was glorious. Rice done to perfections, shrimp firm and snappy, chicken was moist, and the best part, I couldn't possibly finish all the food and I will enjoy it again tomorrow for the third day in a row. This place is a hidden gem that should be tried by all. I will likely frequent this place a couple times per month at the very least. It is a Rensselaer County Must. Please give this this place a try. There are not many excellent restaurants around East Greenbush. read more

An Ecuadorian cafe in Renssalaer? Yes! My first couple of bites of the baked chicken lunch special revealed tender chicken and creamy pinto beans. A shot of the spicy green salsa lit up my next bite and made me realize this cafe has a lot to offer. In an area with very few Mexican or Central American restaurants this cafe fills the void of simple homestyle soul food. I really like the honest no-frills menu....and apparently others do too since the place was packed when I was there. I got my $7.99 lunch special to go and noticed the flan and tres leches cakes, so I'll try those next time. I really liked my beans rice meat combo and LOVED that it wasn't in a polystyrene container, so I will definitely keep this place in mind as it is within walking distance to work. Most amazing Latin soul food I've had in the capital district. The pork is the best pork I've had in my entire life, same goes for the empanadas, any filling. Buffet is hit or miss. The food quality is great. Do not get the buffet if the wife is working. Her servings are not worth $4 let alone $8. Today, I almost did not accept the meal. The lunch or dinner special is the way to go; rice, beans, and a meat of the day. It will be served up to you immediately. I loved the homemade hot sauce mixed with the rice and pork and beans. The chicken stew with potatoes was equally yummy. We also tried two of the fresh juices and smoothies. This place is what Latin American dreams are made of! I've been wanting to come for awhile, after passing it several times, and finally made a stop. What a wonderful restaurant. I have lived in South America and The Caribbean for about fifteen years of my life and a friend invited me to have lunch here today. We were there right at noon and the lunch choices are amazing. We both had the roast pork and rice and beans and it was delicious. The meat was flavorful and tender and the ají made what was already great even better. I live in Connecticut and come to the Albany twice a month. I will be a regular at mi Ecuador juice bar for a number of reasons. First of all the food and the selection that is available. Everything just looks great and reminds me of the home cooking I had in The Dominican Republic, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia and Puerto Rico.
