I live in Texas so it might just be a difference in geographical "norms". The Al pastor tacos were very dry and looked to be made from beef fajita meat instead of diced pork. The pico de gallo was fresh, heavy on the onions. I did ask for extra cilantro and lime - my 2 favorite taco toppings. The sopaipillas were cinnamon sugar covered tortilla chips instead of puffed flour tortillas and served with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle on top instead of honey and butter. The enchiladas with rice and beans looked good and had generous amounts of sauce on top. The taco salad is served in a taco shell bowl with a generous serving of meat. I like supporting small businesses, so if you're in town and looking for Mexican fare please stop in and try it out.

It was absolutely delicious as their steak had a zingy seasoning that really hit the spot and the queso on top of course really worked. The rice they served as the side was really good too. Often I find rice to be just ok, but this was full of flavor. I will definitely order a side of rice every time I come here. Service was vey friendly and the dining area was clean. The interior was bright and cheerful with colorful decor. I was excited to see a sign that said "Margarita Flight" so I will plan to dine here sometime when I am not traveling for work. Great Food and Service but Payment and Billing System Needs an Update…read more (3.5 Stars ) Mi Viejo is one of the only good restaurants in the Carrollton area aside from the fast food restaurants in the area, Whenever I'm in the Carrollton area I eat here at least once. So far on my visits, the food has been great and the service has been pretty good too. The only issue I face is when I have to get an itemized receipt for business expenses. On my last visit, I asked for an itemized receipt right when I sat down and the server came over. The server assured me that he could do it as I have had this issue on all of my previous visits. Once I ate my delicious perfectly made meal, I again asked for an itemized receipt. The server disappeared for over ten minutes and I had to go to the counter. At the counter they gave me a tiny receipt to show I paid and tipped but no itemized receipt. Again the person at the counter disappeared for another ten minutes as I guess they thought I would just go away. Finally, a manager came out and redid my whole bill and gave me a printed receipt with separate charges for what I ordered but no item description. I guess this is the best that they can do. I do recommend they modernize their POS as since there are several industries in the area, I can't be the only person who has to submit receipts for business expenses. Aside from these ongoing issues, the food is always on point and servers do the best they can.
