Alejandra's continues to be one of the more stellar Mexican restaurants. Stationed in Aurora it has a great small town ambiance before you even step foot into the restaurant. The inside is very colourful and fun really bringing joy to anyone that comes in. As for the food we started with Chori-Queso as we usually do when we eat Mexican. Their version is an excellent on really offering a great balance of flavours between the queso and the chorizo. For my main dish I went ahead and got more of the same as I got a steak burrito that was covered with their queso. It was absolutely delicious as their steak had a zingy seasoning that really hit the spot and the queso on top of course really worked. The rice they served as the side was really good too. The wait staff spoke almost no English. The margaritas had no discernible amount of tequila. The guacamole was watered down to resemble baby food, which made it tasteless. The salsa lacked taste. Go elsewhere! read more

Best Mexican restaurant within an hour radius! Fast, accurate, friendly service. Set up is chips, salsa, and cheese/bean dip. I ordered a large margarita and mercy, look at the picture where they are making the guacamole at our table, large indeed. Guacamole is made AT YOUR table! We were in eastern Indiana for the Eclipse on 4/8/24, and the day before were driving in Aurora and stopped for lunch at Alejandra's Authentic Mexican Restaurant for lunch. It's a nice place, your typical nicer Mexican restaurant. A very nice hostess seated us. Our server gave us chips and salsa, but also a cheesy Mexican dip. I thought that was a nice touch. We started with sodas, my wife with an unsweetened Iced Tea and I with a Mug root beer. For lunch my wife had steak fajitas, which she reported as very decent, exactly what she was expecting. I had a Burrito Rancher, which held steak and chicken, along with other burrito fillings you'd expect. The burrito on the plate was surrounded with several shrimp, and pineapple chunks. It was all covered with a white sauce. The burrito itself was fantastic, and the shrimp and pineapple made it that much better. Next time I'll get it without the sauce on it, or maybe on the side. The burrito itself was good enough on it's own. We also saw that they prepared guacamole tableside. We didn't do it but we wish we did. The restaurant was decorated inside as you might expect, but the decorations were maybe a cut above your average Mexican place. The service was very prompt, and the servers friendly. We were never left waiting for anything, and when we stood up to leave, four people NOT our server said goodbye to us. If you like Mexican food, I'm sure Alejandra's will not disappoint. read more

Good food, extensive menu, reasonable prices and nice atmosphere. The only downside is sometimes you might get a server who doesn't understand English very well so keep your revisions and customization to a minimum. I highly recommend the Rancho Dip as an appetizer. read more

This is probably my favorite restaurant to eat at in Aurora. The food is always good and fresh and delicious . The front of the house staff is always friendly. I can't pronounce the words to the meals correctly. I point and they repeat to me. If you are a gluten free person like me, this is a good place for you to go. The mixed drinks are good also. All the fresh fruit they use and the LED ice cubes and cute little umbrellas are a nice touch. The fajitas are very good and you get a choice of corn or flour tortillas. Excellent food....BUT We've been going to Alejandra's since they opened, and we've always had a good experience. This last time, however, was really enough to put us off from going back. We arrived just before the dinner rush, and so most of the wait staff was just standing around, waiting for the crowd to arrive. One worker, an older lady, was standing by the front window, looking out. I watched her sneeze, wipe her nose with her bare hand, and then she folded her arms and went back to staring out the window. A few minutes later I saw her reach in her mouth to get something out of her teeth (with the same hand she was just rubbing her nose with), then she folded her arms and went back to staring out the window. Some people came in, she greeted them, she grabbed some menus with the same hand she had been rubbing her nose and picking her teeth with, and showed them to a table. She took their drink order, she came back in a minute or two later, and she used the same hand she was rubbing her nose and picking her teeth with to sit the glasses on the table (grabbing each glass at the top of the rim...you know, where people's lips touch when they're drinking). Then she went back to staring out the window. I watched her rub her nose and stick her fingers in her mouth at least two more times before she looked over at me and saw me shaking my head. Then she turned her back to me. It's absolutely REVOLTING that someone could be so oblivious to the basics of proper practices conducive to maintaining health and preventing disease (especially at a place where people put food in their bodies). It's a total disregard for the safety of others. There are three other Mexican restaurants between our house and Alejandra's, and all of them have food that's just as good. I don't see the need to subject ourselves to possibly getting sick because an employee is too lazy to wash her hands and keep her fingers out of her mouth. read more

From their burritos to even just their rice. I'll come in just to get the rice! They give you free salsa and chips, but they now also give you a small portion of bean dip! Best I've ever had. It's a super friendly atmosphere. All of the workers are very kind. The owners are here daily. They really care about their customers. I definitely recommend. The last time I went to a Mexican restaurant, other then Chipotle who doesn't even really count, I got food poisoning so I was a little hesitant to come here. I even tried to go to two other restaurants first in downtown Aurora for lunch only to find them closed. It was a little dark and not exactly the nicest looking place but the servers were very friendly, you get free chips and salsa (delicious), my food came out within minutes of ordering and overall I was very pleased. I got the taco salad with beef, it wasn't the best taco salad I've ever had but it was good and didn't give me food poisoning! While I was there someone in the group next to me was having a birthday so they came out with sombreros and sang "Happy Birthday" in Spanish. How fun! It's valley Escondido with a extra steps, the staff is ALOT more friendly but they have a limited draft beer selection compared to valley.
