    Chips and salsa

Mi Lupita's Kitchen is a quaint Mexican restaurant located right across the street from the Red Bank train station. As part of a "treat myself" day, I went there for lunch after a massage. I went early in the afternoon on a Friday and the restaurant was practically empty. There were only about two other tables aside from mine. Therefore, the service was quite attentive. I was given chips and salsa, which is usually customary at Mexican restaurants. I ordered a watermelon agua fresco, which was refreshing and not overly sweet. I ordered the quesabirria tacos as my entree. The tacos were tasty. I've definitely had more flavorful tacos elsewhere, but they got the job done. For dessert, I got the churros, which were filled with dulce de leche and came with scoops of vanilla ice cream. Delicious! I would definitely return to this spot. It seems pretty authentic and I'd like to try some other dishes. They are byob, so next time, I'll bring something to sip on with my food.

They have moved to 193 Shrewsbury Ave. they're no longer on Bridge Avenue. Decorated very nicely. Food and service were very good. A lot of meals were $15 each, but didn't get too much maybe one scoop of rice one scoop of beans and in my quesadilla that was just chicken and cheese.

Birria Tacos and what we called the "meat mountain" filled with the tastiest different types of meat and shrimp.

Amazing food and service! Highly recommend! We made a reservation and they were setting up the table and kept coming out to let us know. So appreciated that. Food was served quickly and piping hot. Apps, dinner and dessert was wonderful.

Adorable place, has the authentic Mexican feel. Food was delicious. Service was good. But for some reason were weren't able to sit outside. Then other customers came in 5 minutes after us and they were able to get outdoor seating? Overall, very nice ambience. Great for family or dates. Would return.

The restaurant is BYOB and they set you up to enjoy your favorite drinks

This place is a gem! Authentic Mexican food served in a really cool, relaxing atmosphere. The outdoor patio "El Patio" is colorful with twinkling lights and great music overhead. We had a great server that was attentive, and let us relax and catch up. The prices are unbeatable.... VERY affordable, great value! Can't wait to return! ¡Gracias!

My friend suggested this place so we checked it out. The only table they had available was near the entrance which was fine until it started getting busy and people were waiting in the area where our table was located. It felt like they were on top of us which was annoying. The food was very good. It was fresh and authentic. I really enjoyed my birria tacos. The service on the other hand was really lacking. We didn't get our appetizers for about 30 minutes. We also waited a long time to place our order. Our server barely checked in on us and we had to track somebody down at the end for our check. Overall, the food was great but not sure I would go out of my way to return due to the poor service.

You can tell this place is serving really good tacos just judging by the photos. We decided to give it a shot. It exceeded our expectations and ended up being my favorite tacos of all time. You have to order the quesabirria, it's tender beef tacos melted with cheese inside a pan-fried corn tortilla that you dip in broth. It's simply the best. Not the best start: there was no hostess at the front, so 3 parties stood there for 3-5 minutes even though there were multiple tables open. Once we were seated it was all good. We sat outside, ambiance was lovely with colorful flags and picnic tables and lively Mexican music in the background. Our server was flying around as the joint was understaffed, but it didn't even matter in the end because she handled it with grace and the food was phenomenal. Every server was so gracious. The kind staff and wonderful food and atmosphere made up for the minor delays in service. Overall it was a really lovely evening!

I'm so happy that my husband and I went to check out the place I've been seeing all over instagram! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted immediately with a smile. It was small and cozy. Loved the music in the background and decor. We lucked out and got a table right away. The menu explained what all the dishes were and each one better than the next. Upon sitting down we were given a basket of tortilla chips with a variety of sauces to dip them in. We ordered and asked for a few adjustments in each dish. It was done without any hesitation. Our food arrived and it was absolutely delicious!! It was hot and correct! I definitely will be going back very soon.

We were thinking based on the location that the prices would be high, but not at all. The prices were very reasonable. You walk inside and there were some tables already reservered. We decided on sharing the mixed grill fajitas. It was so good. There was a good amount of shrimp, chicken and steak. It had great flavor, and the homemade tortillas were very good. The green spicy sauce they provide isn't spicy but adds good flavor. We couldn't finish between the two of us. The food and service was excellent and would come back again.

The arabes had great flavor, and lasted for days. Chorizo tacos were obviously the favorite, as expected. Also, was blown away by how filling and delicious the Cemita was. Support local businesses, if you can, please! I was starving after my massage and ordered tacos to go - two tacos with chorizo, potatoes, onions and one with chicken, smoked chipotle. Literally sped home to eat them (I had one in the car right away. Don't regret it) Amazing, amazing tacos. The chorizo tacos said onions (cebolla) but they were long stemmed bulbs - not sure if they're called something else but I loved them (please let me know if anybody knows what they're called. Thankfully North of the Border came through. I like to try a variety of tacos but unfortunately NOTB, like many others, does not let you mix and match. Therefore, I chose an order of 3 lengua and 3 chorizo tacos. I also ordered a bottle of coke to go. I had to do a double take of the receipt as my total was pushing $30. I asked the woman at the counter to break down the prices and confirmed that the lengua tacos were $13 and chorizo were $9. This threw me off as an older picture of the menu shows all tacos priced at $7. I really enjoyed these tacos. They were super authentic and full of flavor. I may order again but will be shopping around first to find tacos that are more reasonably priced.

The menu is extensive so there are a lot of options and undoubtedly something for everyone. Guacamole and chips were fresh, when eating the salsa the green one is rather spicy so keep that in mind (we love spicy so it was perfect). Tacos as an option is great because you can get them all the same or mix it up and order fish, pork, shredded pork and or sausage. The meat is slow cooked and accompanied by melted cheese, onions, and cilantro.....the perfect combination to dance on your Palate. The fish taco was lightly breaded chunks of fish and was not in the slightest bit greasy. I would highly recommend you order a horchata drink....it's a non-alcoholic, sweet, and refreshing drink. Horchata is made by blending white rice and cinnamon sticks in water and letting them soak overnight.
