Do not expect spicy salsa, they do not offer. The food flavors are on point, delicious Pupusas. Service nice but slow at times. Terrific food! We are so happy to come across this gem near us. We had fajitas and absolutely loved the corn tortillas which reminded me of the traditional "makki ki roti" from eating on highway eateries in India. The tortillas were fluffy and just right with a mild grainy texture. The frijoles (refried beans) is the best I've had in a while...the seasoning is unique and delicious with the corn tortillas. The rice was subtly flavored with just the right amount of moisture (not dry and not wet clumpy) and our kid devoured it. We also got quesadillas which were crispy with a juicy filling and tasty. Have you ever done something you wish you could undo? Like that time you accidentally slammed your finger in the car door (guilty), or ordered too many shots of Red Headed Sluts (super guilty), or perhaps the time you went to Mi Pueblito instead of the other place down the street? Oh, is that just me? Well, to let everyone else know then, eating at Mi Pueblito is more than likely apt to make you regret the rest of your day. So you're welcome ahead of time. Mi Pueblito has all the structural makings of a decent Mexican restaurant -- plenty of seating, a patio for beautiful summer afternoons, its own bakery, a diner-like breakfast bar with stools, even a donkey guarding the non-working jukebox. But looks, as we all know, can be deceiving. After spending 20 minutes waiting for nine tacos to make their way out of the kitchen (I was the only one in there at 1:00pm besides two guys that had already finished eating), I picked out a couple of pieces of mexican sweet bread and made my way home with a bag of what I thought would be goodies. I didn't find out until I had returned home that, first of all, Pueblito only supplies you with a giant cup of red salsa (which was terrible) and they don't include any limes, despite my request for them. On top of that, I had a rather hard time deciphering which taco was which -- Fajita, Barbacoa and Pastor tacos were not only covered in a thick, winter blanket of cilantro and onions, but upon further inspection, all of the meat looked essentially the same. The pastor did have a slight orange coloring to it, however it was so burned and blackened, it may as well have been fajita. The barbacoa and fajita were too dry to eat, and the pastor was just straight up bad -- salt and burned pork do not a meal make. I ended up eating half of a pastor and half a barbacoa taco before just throwing my entire plate of food in the trash. BUT, at least I got the sweet bread right? The bread was...okay. Covered in sugar (of course), the bread itself just didn't have much flavor to it. But it was definitely better than the tacos, which I had to pay for twice that day. You know what I'm saying. So that's it. If you ask me, I probably should have hit up the birria place across the street, but I've been wanting to try Pueblito out for a while, and now I have. By the way, I realize that this may have just been a (really) bad day for the chef, but I've talked to a few other people since I went that said their experience was basically the same. Yeah, the Tortas (sandwiches) are also great. The bread is baked daily and is perfect for a man-sized bite. They're generous with the mayonnaise so I now ask for less. Ordering to-go takes just slightly longer than regular fast food joints. read more

This has been a great place to immerse myself in Mexican culture. The food is authentic, the waitresses take my order in Spanish and if you're lucky, you can hear the cook singing in the kitchen. My favorite meal here is the huevos rancheros. They have fresh handmade corn tortillas which I devour every time I get my hands on them. I eat here at least once a week. Yet another restaurant where I just go in and sit down, and the waitresses already know what to bring me. I always get the chicken enchiladas with chips and salsa and a Coke. This stuff sticks to your ribs. And it's GOOD. $12 with tip. read more

Pozole to die for. Breakfast tacos are authentically delicious and crazy cheap. I've tried all of their meat tacos and you can't go wrong with any of them. My favorite is the carnitas. Do NOT forget the salsa verde. I love it. It's spicy without overwhelming the other ingredients. I slather it on everything.
