Salsa was sooo good. I know typical pupusa salsa isn't supposed to be spicy, but I often wish it was - and their's had a little kick to it! Environment: There are a few clean tables inside! Parking lot is cozy. Area is not my favorite. Service: Absolute saints. The guy asked if it was my first time here and gave me a breakfast burrito on the house to try - IN THIS ECONOMY?? It really is a grab and go spot that sits about 10-15 people. I highly recommend ordering the Jesse. My favorite were the queso/frijoles and the queso/chicharron/frijoles The red salsa is delicious with just the right amount of lingering spiciness, and I the cabbage/carrot/onion slaw is well-seasoned, tart, and crisp making it the perfect pairing with the pupusas. Definitely serve in a pinch though! The service is quick and the family that runs it are very pleasant. I stopped planning to only grab a Topo Chico. The millisecond I opened the door I was wrapped up in one of the most mouthwatering aromas I've ever experienced. This is no exaggeration. I paid for my topo and casually walked over to the little 4 square foot kitchen in the corner of the gas station to look at the menu. Second thing I noticed after the enticing smells was the price, $1.50 for a taco? Ok I'm in. Figured I'd try one and see how it goes. Susanna greeted me with a hugely warm smile and responded with a friendly laugh when I told her my Spanish needed practice and ordered my taco. So I ordered the carne asada with pico and salsa verde. "Tres minutos!" Susanna said with a wink and a smile. (If she can teach me more words while I eat what she cooks I'll just start paying rent). She gave me my taco, we exchanged names and I left. Now I'm not condoning this but I couldn't make it home (I live one block away). I got caught at a red light and said f*** it. I couldn't take smelling it any longer. I pulled the box out of the brown paper bag, popped it open, and took a giant bite. The I got honked at by the guy behind me, probably wondering why I was keeping him from getting his own lunch. Sorry dude! Then as I pulled into my garage, I just sat. I poured the salsa verde in its entirety on the last half of that taco and WENT TO TOWN, .5 to gone in 1 second. I walked into my apartment, put my bag down. Then turned around, got back in my car and went back for more. This time the sweetest, most colorful person took my order! I don't want to misspell her name but she said it was Yellow (like the color). I'm so charmed. I ordered the same carne asada taco because FIRST LOVE, the chicken taco and the Serrano, onion and cheese pupusa with salsa verde for the tacos and a spicy red sauce for the pupusa which also came with a beautiful slaw of carrots and cabbage tossed in (vinegar I think?).
