I'm back again to enjoy this quaint and perfectly located restaurant. The portions are well sized. The music is in the background however not loud enough to overpower any conversation. The staff is friendly as well as helpful with any questions you may have. The food is fresh, authentic and moderately priced. Overall this ida great spot in the area and one of my favorites. some of my favorite things to get are the taco salad, the Mi Pueblito salad with grilled shrimp and you can't beat the chicken and rice soup (especially on a rainy day). The service is normally really good, but most recently it was lacking. Waiter didn't check on table (and was seated right in front of the kitchen). The ambiance is realy good, even in a group you can hear the conversation and family friendly. read more

Stupid me for forgetting to read my review the first time I was here. I ordered something with the ground beef again and it was horrible. I asked for a side of guacamole that had almost nothing in it maybe just a taste of garlic. They have something on the menu called stuffed meatballs. It's actually a giant corn bread dough bowl stuffed with sloppy chopped meat. I couldn't take more than two bites. read more

Food was bad; beefsteak street taco filling was prepared long before dinner time and had baked to dry pebbles under a heat lamp, but still managed to be ice cold. It had no flavor, even with onion, cilantro, and lime on top. Pastor filling was a bit better, but only fair. Only one lime wedge was provided for two tacos. We apparently had two waiters assigned to our table, but neither of them wrote down or remembered our order, and both kept coming back to ask for reminders of what drinks and then what food we had ordered. It wasn't like we ordered a ton, either-- two waters, a plate of fries, and two street tacos. I went to Taco Bell later because I was still hungry and it was the only thing open, and the crappy fast food Mexican there was much better than what I ate at this place. The place itself is very nice and clean. This is where the good part stops. The staff is not attentive and appears to be lackadaisical about their job. I am assuming years of no better options in a small town has ingrained itself into mediocrity. I mistakenly ordered carne asada to receive an eighth inch thin piece of meat that resembled a slice of bacon. Looking back I should have taken a photo and sent it back. For someone in the kitchen to think it was fine to send that out tells the complete story of this place. The tea is so watered down it's pathetic. I could go on but what's the point. My first review of this place was years ago. This is an update. Now that the area has many more places serving Mexican cuisine, Mi Pueblito no longer stands out. Starting with the salsa. It has no flavor other than tomato and salt. No cilantro or pepper. Very bland. And please for the love of all things, bring back salsa to the table. The bean concoction is not very good. More often than not it arrives at the table cold. The dishes our table order were good. Not outstanding, but good. We ran out of tea and water and were done eating by the time refills arrived. Mi Pueblito has been a Rutherfordton treasure for over 10 years. It is time to step up the game now that they are many more Mexican restaurants and taco joints in the area. read more

We love this location. They can have a parking lot full of cars and the wait is still never long! They are super fast with the food and the servers are very attentive and nice. I usually order the lunch fajitas. You can even order them at dinner time for an additional charge, but it's still cheaper than the dinner portion and plenty of food for me! This location does bring chips and a bean dip to the table but no salsa. They do have a salsa bar. I do wish they at least brought out one big container of salsa. We never eat the bean dip and always end up having to get multiple salsa because the containers are tiny. Food is always hot and the taste is great! read more

Was outstanding, grubb! The food cost was on point. Service was very good, this is a very clean location very professionally run. The salsa bar was the best we've ever seen. It was just was off the chart's! I hate to tell to many people about this place, because it's off the hook however more people should know about the good grub that's out there. I would pass this one by. I hate giving bad reviews but this spot just isn't worth it. The staff are great'. The meals are just not up to par. Too salty for one. We had 6 people and not one was pleased with their meal. We had two vegetarians with us, he ordered a vegetarian plate and it came out with a beef taco. My chimichanga was pre-made somewhere. How is this place open? The customer service is non existent, the food poor and the general attitude is they don't care. We were here for dinner (3pm) and the restaurant was fairly quiet. We inquired if the kids meal included a beverage and were told it included a milk. (Our bill reflected a charge of $2.50 for an 8oz cup of milk)...the unsweetened tea was transparent resembling and tasting like dirty water...we requested our drink be replaced with water (the charge was never removed from our bill), the waiter never reappeared at our table until we asked another employee for our bill. At the register, the employee refused to adjust our bill and told us there was no manager on duty and would not be there until Mon. We could call him then, but she refused to leave a message for him. Never again.....save you money....Taco Bell is a 5 star restaurant compared to this place. read more

Love, love, love Mi Pubs. It's classic Tex-Mex, if your expecting fancy you're looking at the wrong place but the drinks are strong and the food is really flavorful and affordable. I've lived in Cali for the last 5 years, and I've missed the classic Tex-mex style. I love the chicken steak quesadilla filled with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms and cheese. Love it! Also ordered a margarita and it was strong and delicious. They kept the salsa and chips coming. I also sampled off another plate the garlic shrimp which was recommended by the waitress and loved it, would love to try it next time. The sweet waitress was attentive and kind. I don't understand why it took so long for food as we all know its not fresh made to order. Good Mexican food, in a casual setting. Prices are good. Service is always prompt and the food comes out quickly. Chips and salsa while you wait for your meal are complementary. The hot sauce is pretty good. They are always busy, but I've never had to wait for a table. It's a fairly large restaurant inside. They keep it clean.
