Piña colada and Queso Fundido
Jessica H.

This place is huge so we got a table right away at 6:15 on a Tuesday. I ordered a non-alcoholic piña colada which came out quickly and was so tasty. We shared queso fundido- a little spicy and very cheesy and good. Good amount for 2 people. And then because I already had so much food I opted for a la carte tacos and I was excited they still came with toppings on the side. I got carnitas and Al pastor and both meats were flavorful but I liked the Al Pastor a little more!

Food was amazing. Service was exceptional! Dessert was amazing. Ordered a Chile relleno. The only downside was tortilla were hard but the meat inside the tacos were good. If they had better tortillas it would be 5 stars. But still a very good restaurant!

Really wanted to like this place but ended up more mid than anything. The restaurant is really spacious on the inside. Nice bar area, a few TVs with sports. Music isn't super loud. These are all plus's. FOOD The food was very mediocre. I couldn't finish the (#49) Catrina's burrito due to the excess grease from the meat. I mean, the grease was pouring out of the burrito onto the plate. I ate half and then couldn't stomach the rest. The rice was good but ended up getting spoiled by the grease from the burrito. (See pics). Chips and salsa were okay. My favorite part is the meal was the Lime (Cadillac) margarita. Finally a restaurant that actually puts tequila in my drink. Good stuff! The service was mediocre. Waitress was busy but only saw her for the order and for the payment. Maybe once somewhere in between. But she didn't offer us a receipt, and didn't offer dessert. We actually wanted to try the Mexican Fried Ice-cream...bummer. Anyways, wasn't thrilled. Food was just mediocre and unappetizing. I might return and order something else next time. Still, thanks for the experience Mi Rancherito!

The food was amazing and the service was also amazing. They checked up on us regularly and I liked how they made fresh guacamole and salsa.

Well I saw a lot of good reviews and tik tok recommendations. I live 5 min away so I decided to give it a try. We walked in and were asked how many I said 2 she said 2 min one moment and walks away. Then more people started coming in and she asked same thing. My first thought was wow she has a good memory. 10 min later she just makes eye contact with me and it's like I knew to follow her. I kind of chuckled to myself. And my husband said how did you know. I said maybe it's a Hispanic thing we have a connection. The decor is cute and lots of tables. It was packed not one empty table. The waitress was alright. She asked if we needed time and I said yes since it was our first time she welcomed us and walked away. We ordered margaritas and they were huge! And they were weak on the alcohol. I ordered the chicken taquitos with rice and beans My husband ordered carne asada burrito Chips and salsa was alright. Salsa was bland and chips weren't homemade. The taquitos came out and they were good nothing to rave about. Rice and beans were good. My husband was not to thrilled about his burrito. There was a pool of grease under it. The meat was ok but bummed his meal came out like that. He could only eat about half before he said I give up. We walked away saying the hype was way to big. Paying I never got a receipt she showed me the little card reader thing that showed tip it was like so fast and couldn't even say like ugh receipt and she turned around. I understand it was busy but I don't know if I liked that or not. My husband ended up have a stomach ache from the burrito.

Got the carnitas plate and smothered burrito. The carnitas meat was tender but maybe a little salty for my taste. The smothered burrito could use a bit more smothering but it was pretty massive too. Staff was friendly and checked on us frequently.

As of Sunday, March 31. I am now a resident of Utah. My parents wanted to take me out for my 37th birthday on Wednesday, May 8. However, we celebrated on Thursday, May 9th around 4 PM. The restaurant is located in a parking lot with a handful of other businesses, so there is plenty of room for parking. So if anyone is concerned about finding a parking space, that should not be an issue. I forgot the business right next door, but the one over facing the street is a Beans & Brews Coffee House. We were greeted right away and sat down in a circular corner booth. My parent told me they had been there before and looked different. And since the remodeling, it looked a lot better. The restaurant is huge! There were a lot of tables, I did not see too many booths. I am not sure if they take reservations or not. I ordered two red chicken enchiladas, covered with melted cheese and sour cream on top. For the two sides, it came with rice and beans and melted cheese on the beans. The price was $13.99. And that is slightly cheaper compared to Los Angeles, CA prices. Most places I have been to for the same dish are from $14.99 - $19.99. For the drink, I ordered an orchata. The horchata was decent, it was not bad, but I have had better in California. They also bring out red salsa and chips. However, I did not try them. My parents liked the salsa. From the time my parents and I ordered the food, to the time it came out, it was fairly quick; perhaps 10-15 minutes. My mom and dad told me the first time they came, they did not enjoy the food, and the time they took to bring out the food, was forever. However, this experience was way better they said and they enjoyed both the food and service. Our server was very attentive and polite and checked in on us periodically. My parents really liked her service. The enchiladas were also nice and moist, which I really enjoyed. I think next time I come, I will request a little more red sauce, but that is my personal preference. Parking availability: Plenty of spaces Price: Reasonable Food/ Taste: Good Service: Great Decor: Nice, a beautiful hummingbird mural! Overall, I would come here again and I would recommend it. The bus boy I assume brought to-go containers right away and assisted with the food. We were also thanked for coming on the way out. Their customer service is on point. Moreover, I have been told by some residents in Utah, who were also from California that there are not a lot of good Mexican restaurants here. That the food tastes different from Los Angeles or California. However, at Mi Ranchito Mexican Restaurant, this is not the case. My dad also said he really enjoyed the leftovers the next day. I look forward to coming back and trying their "Enchiladas De Mole," and many other dishes on their menu that look delicious! Lastly, thank you for the free Fried Ice Cream.

This place is cute. The decor is what you'd expect for a cute Mexican food place. But the food is lacking. I ordered cheese enchiladas covered in chili verde. The chili verde didn't have any pork in it. The refried beans were soupy. We came with a group of people and the waiter had a very difficult time keeping the orders straight and even argued with my brother-in-law demanding that he received what he ordered (he didn't!). Finally another server came out to assist and she worked hard to make it right. The salsa is watery without much substance unless you eat the hotter version. Over all, we won't be going back. I'm a Mexican food snob, I'll admit it. For me it's all about the food. Mi Ranchetos didn't pass the test.

Went here on a Saturday night date night and was pleasantly surprised. My date and I both got enchiladas that were very good. But we did have one complaint - our plates were hot but the enchiladas tasted like they did not get heated up enough. We were both very hungry and ate them anyway. The free salsa at the table was very good and the servers were all so nice! We would definitely come back to this spot.

When I asked to add four more tacos, the price jumped to $175. When I politely asked for clarification on the math--as $40 for four tacos seemed excessive--the staff member became defensive and snappy. Instead of explaining the charges, she told me to "come inside and see for myself" in a very condescending tone. The unprofessionalism continued when I asked if there would be an extra charge for onions and jalapeños. Rather than answering a simple yes or no, she responded with further attitude, demanding to know if I "wanted it or not" before finally stating it was included. Despite the terrible service, I proceeded with the order and requested a 9:30 p.m. pickup time to ensure the food would be ready for a strict 10:00 p.m. deadline for my brother. Despite placing this order seven hours in advance, the food was not ready when my mom arrived at 9:30 p.m., and she was forced to wait. Between the rude, dismissive attitude of the staff and the failure to have a pre-ordered meal ready on time, I am extremely disappointed. I will not be returning to this location

Their…read morechips come out warm, perfectly salty, and totally addictive -- and most of the time we can't get enough of the salsa. It's basically our default when we want sit-down Mexican. The salsa can vary a little from batch to batch (sometimes mild, sometimes surprisingly fiery), but that's part of the experience. Just know they bring a bowl per entrée and then charge for extras -- which feels a little lame, not gonna lie... but we still order it anyway because it's still good. It's clean, lively, and always buzzing. Weekend evenings? Absolute chaos. If you don't like a packed house and a wait, plan accordingly. We've learned our lesson there. Food-wise, it's the classic comfort lineup and it never disappoints. Cheese enchiladas are a staple for us. The flautas? So good. Fajitas? Solid every time. And let's just say if you're not adding cheese on top of your beans... you're missing out on the full experience. That melty layer makes everything better. We ordered off the kids menu this time too, and honestly I was impressed. $7 for a kids meal where you pick the entrée feels fair these days, and everything came out hot and tasty. Now... tonight's service was rough. Our server, Noemi, took about 15 minutes to bring water after we sat down -- even after we asked three separate times. We had chips and salsa immediately (and this batch of salsa was way hotter than usual), so when our toddler started coughing from the spice and needed water, we let her know. Somehow she still came back to take our order before bringing drinks. We literally had to say, "Can we please get water before we order?" It was strange and honestly frustrating. BUT. The food was still great. The atmosphere is still one we enjoy. And the chips and salsa will absolutely pull us back in again. La Hacienda is still our go-to when the salsa craving hits -- we'll just be hoping for smoother service next time.

The food was the same delicious meal we've experienced in Draper but service was less than impressive. If you are okay with exchanging waiting to be seated with subpar service it's the same food. I however am thinking the service at the other location will pull me back there.

Of everything we tried, the Cheesy Pastor Tacos were the clear standout. The birria, asada, and chorizo were all good, but the pastor tacos stole the show. Next time I'll probably skip the variety and just order those. The only thing that caught us off guard was the seating policy. They wouldn't seat our table until everyone in the party had arrived, even though the people we were waiting for were literally pulling into the parking lot. It wasn't a huge issue, but it did feel a little unnecessary and inconvenient. Overall, the food was excellent, the drinks were refreshing, and the experience was a good one.
