If I'm back here in Salt Lake, Utah, this is the taco spot I will come to every single time.! it's my kind of vibe small and personal! Food 5/5 I got myself the three taco combo Al Pastor with the Mexican Coca-Cola. I took one bite, and my mouth exploded with flavor. The meat was sender and with the added white cheese and the slices of pineapple was just incredible. I had to buy myself an extra one because it was just too amazing and the Mexican Coca-Cola in the bottle that has only four or five ingredients leaves you feeling refreshed! Service 5/5 I was greeted immediately and I placed my order with confidence and they knew exactly how to treat a person that's not from their state with respect and love.. the chefs/servers engaged in beautiful conversation with me. It made me feel like I was part of their establishment... Amazing and beautiful people. Ambience 5/5 as I said, it's small and personal and that's the way I love it. Beautiful wall art, music, loud enough for you to feel the vibe and wanna start dancing around(I didn't dance though because I didn't have my dance partner with me) and as I observed around the establishment, everyone who's finished their meals we're still sitting around, just enjoying the atmosphere and the music, so that goes to tell you it's definitely a place to jam out relax and enjoy Delicious Mexican food. Taco's were really good. We weren't familiar with place but saw that Guy Fieri had recommended some pulled in. Got tacos, which were a little smaller, but it's the toppings that really made the meal. Service was great, but tacos were overpriced, but what isn't these days. My bf and I only recently found this gem and are now regulars. We both really enjoy their carne asada, I usually get their street tacos and he usually likes their burritos. I also think their horchata is some of the best around (albeit a bit smaller and more expensive than other places). I've also tried their al pastor and birria which were definitely good, but I liked the carne asada taco more. Be sure to not skip on the toppings and sauce bar! Service is usually pretty fast, you can order with them or at a self serve kiosk. Ambiance is casual, often times it's also a little smoky. Ordered Santo Taco to-go and tried the burrito, fish tacos, and the birria quesadilla. Everything had really good flavor, and I appreciated the fresh little salsas and lemon that came with the meal. The fish tacos were tasty but could've used a bit more seasoning for that extra punch. Overall, though, it's a great spot with solid food and generous portions, definitely a place I'd order from again. read more

Disclaimer: I'm from San Diego and can drive to the Mexican border in less than 2 hours so maybe I'm spoiled. I found all of the food lacking in flavor. All of our burritos and quesadillas had beans in them which seems atypical. Burritos had breads and rice. The carne asada lacked seasoning. The quesadillas were weighted down and soggy due to the beans. The only item that did not have beans that we got were the carne asada fries. I did not care for their salsas. The only one I found enjoyable was the pico de gallo type one. IMO this establishment(s) would make it in Southern California. read more

I come from the Arizona California background and just recently moved to the slc area first of many taco shops that'll I'll try but in all honesty I don't see how this place has a high rating got a healthy mix of the staples Carnitas,Carne Asada,Al pastor and a quesabirria taco all of them extremely underwhelming no flavor in any of them the carne asada was unseasoned and and super tough and could be said for the rest of them as well I definitely prefer a flour tortilla but will always enjoy a good corn tortilla unfortunately that is far from it here overall I may have high expectations but oh well the hunt for a good taco stands in Salt Lake City read more

We stop here every time we fly into SLC and before we head to Park City. They have the best Birria hands down with the most delicious juice/consome broth to dip our tacos in, very flavorful. We also like their salsa bar offering a variety of salsas with many delicious options of mild to hot and roasted jalapeños were wonderful. Specials are good but in general these are hella pricey. I get it though, it's the only place open after a good binge-- i mean... responsible drinking all night :) They get the food out fast and I haven't had problems getting a table to slug down some tacos before heading to the next spot. They are not cursed by Utah-flavor-allergy; they actually have good salsas with real heat. Even their fries are good and I would have never thought to get fries at a taco joint. When it comes to tacos I like to consider my self an expert as it's my culture I literally grew up on many of these and I have spent my adult life trying to find the best ones. These are some of the better ones I have had. These yellow tortilla was perfect just enough crisp but not so much that it is hard. These salsa was good not great but good enough. The steak was chewy could use some work. Their pastor was the highlight it was some of the better pastor I have had in Utah. The restaurant was empty for a weeknight but that comes as expected. The service was average nothing bad but nothing special. I think it's fair to give this place another try not bad! read more

I'm so glad I stumbled across Santo Taco! I found it while wandering downtown SLC, and it quickly became my go-to spot for tacos and burritos whenever I'm in the area. I came with a few friends and we shared the sirloin asada burrito, california burrito, sirloin asada fries, and five to six of tacos. Every single dish was a hit, but what really stood out was the meat. Meat was flavorful, well-seasoned, and perfectly grilled. The salsas added a fresh kick that tied everything nicely together. Santo Taco is a quick and convenient taco stop! They are a service counter shop but also have a quick place your own order screen. The ambiance is busy and somewhat loud with music and people. Not necessarily a bad thing, but if you're looking for something quiet, this is not your place. Service was fast & friendly! They also have a salsa & condiment bar! This was awesome to add my own flair! My friend loves the fish tacos & she also had a shrimp. I got the birria which was amazing. My first time to the new location was a great experience. I was able to try a number of different tacos, but really enjoyed the birria tacos. I also really liked the taco de bistec (cdmx style) it was well balanced with solid flavoring and great guacamole. Some of the other tacos weren't as good, but still decent. The interior was clean and the design was really festive. The best part of the experience was the staff. They were very sociable. Santo Taco has done it again with their new downtown location! This place is in such a prime location, has a fairly large dining area, and they're open until 3am on the weekends. They're right next to all of the bars on State Street and Main Street, what a perfect late night delicious treat when you're out and about downtown! My friend and I got the quesadilla to split, along with some of their cheese smothered fries which were so delicious. We both agreed that the quesadilla was the best that both of us have ever had. It came with guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, pico de gallo. Yum yum yum I can't wait to come back. They have a ton of different smothered fry options - birria fries, carnitas fries, al pastor fries, carne asada, poll asado - trust me, get the fries!!! Even the just cheese fries were amazing. The burritos were inedible. This doesn't happen to me very often but I took a few bites and had to throw it away. Absolutely disgusting. Husband had carne asada burrito it didn't taste like steak.
