Fantastic service! We stopped our way back from Denver. We ordered our meals they came out very hot and Fast. Our waitress was very kind and noticed we were struggling to feed our new born and burp her while trying to eat and get back on the road. It has the look. Plays Spanish music. Even makes an acceptable michelada. But that's as Mexican as it gets. I had a combination plate. Chile relleno, shredded beef enchilada and a chicken taco. The quality of the meat was fine. It has zero flavor. Never mind any spices added to them. No garlic, cumin, salt pepper nothing. As was the case with the sixes and salsa too. Not even any salt on the chips.... I was offers spicy or mild. Chose spicy have no clue what they consider either. All I tasted was bland... You will thank yourself later if you just go across the interstate to the Margaritas Mexican restaurant. Wife and I have eaten at both places 3 times now. Don't waste your money here, more like your time! It's takes them a century to serve you! I don't know if they are short help but the waitresses usually take forever to bring the drinks out and like and hour to bring the food out. And I'm writing this review after multiple experiences. We are from New Mexico and I was raised on Mexican food, so I have some serious high standards. We were passing through on our way from Florida to Salt Lake City, and thought, "Mexican food in the middle of nowhere in Nebraska?. Probably a BAD idea, but we'll try it.". Are we glad we did!!. Vegans- don't bother. Their beans have lard, their guacamole has mayonnaise (what?? Yuck). When I told the waitress I was a vegetarian who also couldn't have cheese she said "there's nothing you can eat here." Was not impressed at all. The food was not what I expected. I ended up giving my plate to my husband. I ate the beans and rice. Then went across the street to the TA for dinner. The ambiance was good, the waitress was nice but did not come back to check on us. My husband ordered the hot green sauce but instead got the red. Terrible customer service. I had to wait 5 minutes to be serve a beverage after I sat down. Booth was dirty - both seats and table. I asked them to add potatoes to the Carne asada burrito to make a version of a California burrito for those of you that know what that is and they refused. They would only do it if I purchased a whole side basket of fries! It only takes 3-4 fries to add to a burrito. So much for customer service!! The chips are not fresh - borderline stale. Took a very long time to get my food. Meat and rice were overcooked. I'm guessing the only reason they get business is because it's a small town and there aren't many options. This place was great! Fast clean and fresh. As to the girl from Houston; I lived in California for 30 years and never had a burrito with potatoes in one! The salsa was nice and zippy, I like that they put it in a syrup picture so as no to waste any. And as to the guy from California who complained about the hours...... We walked to the restaurant from our campground about a block away, after a a physically and emotionally exhausting day when our truck broke down. Our dinner was a wonderful ending to our day and made us glad that we had ended up in Ogallala instead of much further down the road, as we had originally planned. I had tacos al carbon with chicken, which I enjoyed there and then took back to our travel trailer what I didn't eat and enjoyed it for lunch today. It was served with rice and beans, and I chose whole beans. My husband had carne asada tacos, also served with rice and beans, and he cleaned his plate. We arrived late in the evening, but both the young man who seated us and the young woman who served us were friendly, polite, and attentive. I normally don't write reviews because I feel like some restaurants deserve a second chance but because I am on vacation I will give my thoughts. I have to say that I was not impressed. First of all they don't have an alcohol license. They recently moved into a NEW location and the license didn't carry over from the old into the new. So dont put put drink menus. Nothing was posted throughout the Restaurant. Service was sub par. Waiter was tired of people asking for alcohol. Food was OK. Every time I pass through ogallala I must stop and pick up the large combination plates for my family of 5. If I dont bring this food back with me to kearney ne. Passing through and needed dinner. Closest place to the RV park. Wow were we fortunate to find this place. All three of us thought that the food was the best on our two week trip. We all had the fajita burritos. Mine was beef, wife and daughter had chicken. The beef was perfectly spiced and done. I was not allowed to try the chicken because it was immediately consumed but they assured me that it was some of the best they had ever tasted.
