We stopped at San Pedro Mexican Restaurant in North Platte on our way home from the Chase County Fair and had a great experience. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa, which were a perfect start to the meal. I also couldn't pass up the jumbo margarita that was on special. It was cold, refreshing, and definitely lived up to the "jumbo" name! For my meal, I ordered the tamale plate with rice and refried beans. The tamale was delicious, everything came out hot, and the portions were plenty generous. After a few days of fair food and traveling, a good plate of Mexican food really hit the spot. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit, and we were able to relax and enjoy our meal before getting back on the road. Great food, good service, complimentary chips and salsa, and a huge margarita--there wasn't much more we could ask for. If you're traveling through North Platte and looking for a good Mexican restaurant, San Pedro is definitely worth a stop. Five stars from us! read more

I ordered a margarita and it was pre-mixed. It was the wost I've ever had. Couldn't taste any tequila and the mixer was too sweet. The carne asada tacos were good and a reasonable price. My wife ordered a verde enchilada and a tamale. The enchilada had red sauce and the cheese wasn't completely melted. The tamale had a very small amount of shredded beef. The younger man was the server and he forgot to bring water. we had to ask after the food was delivered. About the only good thing was fast service. read more

Stopped here for dinner while spending just one evening in North Platte. A cute little restaurant with very good service. The chips and salsa were very tasty and plentiful. It's freezing, and i decide to walk to an Italian restaurant. As I head north (?), I pass by San Pedro in time to see a very nice Mexican family exit. I immediately called an audible and walked in. At first, it wasn't looking incredibly promising; chips and salsa hit the table, and were very bland - no salt at all on the chips and a very unremarkable salsa. I check out the huge menu, and decide to go all in on the Molcajete Mexicano. It hit the table with grand fanfare, and I dug in. It was absolutely awesome and I thoroughly enjoyed it, though the "hot sauce" could be hotter, but that's just me. Tasty and delicious! Loved it and ate every last calorie. I can't go the five star route due to the aforementioned chips and salsa and the fact that the menu said my dish was $19.99 and I was charged $21.99. Definitely worth one visit and possibly more, just take note of the price on the menu and compare to your check. read more

The salsa had no flavor. The enchiladas had the same sauce on each different meat. Maybe we're spoiled with our California Mexican.

I have been coming to San Pedro for 8 years and every time I come, I am blown away at the quality and quantity of the food they serve. I rotate between the super burrito, chicken fajitas, or the cheese chicken. All of them are amazing and very authentic. The chips and salsa are unmatched by any other mexican restaurant in the area. The staff is always welcoming and friendly and regularly check in on you to see how the food is or if you need refills on chips or drinks. The atmosphere is unbeatable. Passing through the area on our way to Denver. We have dined at SO MANY Mexican restaurants in our lifetime, and this one did not disappoint. The chips and salsa are authentic, we asked for a hot sauce and mixed that with their house salsa, yummy, perfect! We ordered a ala carte chicken chimichanga, chili relleno, a #33 which is a tamale, chili relleno and a tostada. With two waters, the total bill came to $18.18 with tax. The flavors are deep, fresh and authentic. The service was good. The lady who seated us with glasses was not overly friendly though. The bathroom was clean.
