As I entered the restaurant a young lady greeted me, she took my order and clarify some items on the menu were no longer available. Went ahead and ordered their "mi bandera dish" which had three enchiladas, one chicken, cheese, beef. The red sauce was a bit bitter but their green sauce was delicious. I order one chile relleno and she asked what type of meat I wanted, I was puzzled since chille rellenos don't usually come with meat. It turns out it's an open chile with cheese and meat, interesting delivery but I prefer the original, cheese only with caldo. The queso had a bit of a spicy kick and it came with a big bag of chips. They only offer one type of salsa, mild and red. When I asked for anything spicier they pointed to bottled Cholula. read more

Where do I start...Well let me first say, it takes a lot for me to give out a 1 star review. I HATE giving out a 1 star unless its well deserved. The service was good, staff were nice but the food wasn't very good. Even with the service and staff being nice this could have been way better. Food wise? I got a burrito that was very poorly constructed and did not taste good. The chicken tasted like it came out of a kitchen sink with dish soap on it...no idea why, but it was not good. Shrimp was so so. We also ordered the chips and queso. Mistake. Came out looking very un-appetizing and tasted not good. Barely any queso or cheese on it and overall piss poor quality. Like other users posted, I WANT to like this place!!! The staff are nice and could be great! Its really not adding up because I drive by multiple times a week and there is NEVER anyone here and yet they remain in business. I am not one to throw around 1-2 star reviews often but this one is unfortunately well deserved. I'm sorry Mi Rancho, I dont think I will be coming back any time soon. I really wanted to love this place! I am all for a fantastic Mexican restaurant. I had to really dig deep in my fiesta-loving heart to give it two stars. My husband and I went here for some appetizers and were sorely disappointed. First of all (and this is not the reason for 2 stars, just worth mentioning).. the place was hot! It's been mild weather out but this place had its heat cranking to an uncomfortable level. Who wants to eat spicy Mexican food while also sweating cause you feel like you're in Mexico? Not I. We ordered guacamole and nachos and they were both probably the most disappointing menu items I've ever had. The guacamole was absolutely lacking in any flavor. It definitely had a lot of heat from the jalapeños, but that's about it... no other seasoning of any kind, it tasted like it was only strictly only avocado and jalapeños. We ended up adding salt from the table to salvage it but it was still disappointing... it wasn't bad, but where was the lime juice? Onion? Seasonings??... I can't say I've ever had a flavorless guacamole before coming here. Even more disappointing were the nachos! A small plate of chips, queso sprinkled on top and a few shrimp/beef/chicken strips on top for $18! Where's the lettuce!? Tomato? Anything else to make these appealing?... I really wanted to love it. I tried so hard. This place was just not what nachos are to me (I'm not from Mexico though). The meat was fine, my husband said the beef was chewy. It wasn't $18 good though. We spent $40 after tip for absolutely nothing worth that amount. If it was an amazing guacamole and nacho experience, I would have gladly spent that here and probably also enjoyed a margarita with it next time. Sadly, we will not return. read more

This is tough to write. Although there was nothing wrong with MI Rancho, there was nothing spectacular either. The restaurant was spotless, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and we were seated and served immediately. I can't ask for anything more as gar as service. The restaurant was clean and well decorated . When it came to the food, it was okay, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It would be a push, in my opinion, to even say it was "good." There are much better options for Mexican food in the area. Like I said, this is MY opinion. I will most likely give them another try in a few weeks and see if I just caught them on an off day,and if my opinion changes, I will update this review. read more

Mi Rancho is dishonest. don't come here! They upcharged us with fake menu prices, this is unacceptable on top of bad food.... My partner and I visited Mi Rancho just now. The food was really bland, despite it didn't look like a texmex place. As we were checking out, I noticed the waitress did not get us an itemized bill, there was only a total charge. I did notice the price was slightly higher than expected , so I got a electronic version of our bill . To my surprise , EVERY SINGLE ITEM was a higher price than it was on the menu, and they charged for tax. I wish I took a picture of the menu prices , but the margaritas were priced at $9.99 , and it turned out to be $10.39 on the final bill ; the combo meal was priced $14.99, and it turned out to be $15.59. There's an upcharge to every single item and it was shocking and sad that we had to find out this way. We will never come back again. read more

There was one other table occupied when we got there. Waitress came right over to get drink order and see if we had questions. I love Mexican food, there is a place 1/4 of a mile from my house in Chittenango that we frequent. My son and husband went in to get an order of fajita nachos and pork chimichangas. They charged us extra for sour cream, put a .30 cent tip on the one water my son bought, then forgot the pick de gallo. There are barely any beans and rice, the one server rolled her eyes when asked for salsa (and my husband was told "it's in there" but it wasn't, so had he not asked for more, we wouldn't have gotten it. It's more expensive than the place we normally go to and the portions are extremely small ... barely any food except chips. I'd forgotten to post until now, but my husband and I visited in December 2022 and everything was incredible. It is Mexican food as it should be - fresh without cheating by an overuse of spices to mask old produce (or a gross lack of skill) as so many other places do. Mango margarita was out of this world! Guacamole was fresh. The chile/poblanos rellenos were ACTUALLY THAT and one of the best I've ever had EVER, but certainly the best I've ever had at a restaurant. There are very few places in Syracuse that are worth spending our money on instead of making it at home. This is absolutely one of them. I went for the first time over the weekend and I have to say this was my favorite traditional Mexican restaurant in the Syracuse area. My wife and I tried Mi Rancho yesterday for lunch. We found the resteraunt to be clean, colorfully decorated and better yet; excellent traditional Mexican dishes. I had pork carnitas, perfect little chunks of slow cooked pork that were finished on a flat to bring out even more flavor. The serving generous, sides too. On November 7th my wife and I made our first visit to Mi Rancho. Owners Enio and Mirna Agüero greeted us to their bright, cheerful and tastefully appointed restaurant. Although they had only been open a few weeks, it was obvious that two of the parties there that evening were repeat customers, a good sign for any new enterprise! Waiter Joseph explained a couple of the menus items and we were very pleased with our selection of enchiladas and Pollo A La Mostaza.
