Chile Relleno, rice and beans. Chips and salsa.
    Pam Y.

I was hungry for Chile rellenos, stopped here for take out. Lunch #4 includes a large stuffed pepper, with rice and beans. When I got home, I realized they also gave me a bags of tortilla chips and some salsa. The chili rellenos was delicious. Thought about saving half for later, but I talked myself out of that idea! Rice was good (mixed veggies in it), and the refried beans were great. Chips were yummy, salsa ok. Staff very friendly and helpful. I waited at a table inside and she brought my food over in five minutes. Total was $9.99.

The quesadilla, in a pool of its own grease.

I went to this restaurant with my date this afternoon and it was absolutely not what I expected. A waste of $30. No one was dining in but us, and yet the service was sub par to none. I ordered a quesadilla and it was dripping in grease, no sour cream or anything to dip on the side. The waitress never returned so I could even ask. Wouldn't return.

Many of the booth seating has the vinyl coming off and it looks lived in. There are about 7 tables to dine in if you choose, but it seems to be more takeout oriented. There is a nice area with some plants and a waterfall. The service was friendly but there was only one woman serving, taking phone orders, working the counter, etc. So it took a bit to get my check and box even though I was done eating. This was my first time here and I didn't know what to expect. The complimentary chips and salsa were not great. Usually at local spots they serve the chips hot, these were not and tasted a day old. The salsa was ok but didn't wow me. I ordered enchiladas verdes and a side of beans. This was much better than the chips and salsa. The chicken was juicy, sauce was good. The guacamole salad tasted fresh. The rice was a little bit different and not the texture I prefer. I see they get great reviews so maybe if I ordered something different it would have tasted better.

Carnitas, carne asada, beef and chorizo tacos

Went there on a Tuesday night, they seem to understand that's why I didn't give them a five. The food was excellent. I love you can order different tacos a la carte. They even have lengua. Check them out sometime. I had a carnitas taco, carne asada taco, and beef and chorizo taco. All were excellent.

The mother-daughter duo met Leon in their hometown of Waterloo. He had opened a Mexican restaurant there, and the food was so good that Metrick urged him to partner with them to open San Miguel. San Miguel quickly became popular, especially among young professionals and Syracuse University students, who would often rave about San Miguel's food, how it's all made in-house, right down to the chips and salsa you're served when you first sit down. The move to Baldwinsville had been in the works for months, and Metrick had hoped to keep open the downtown location. The restaurant at 425 N. State St., however, became part of a state-designated orange zone because of the coronavirus, so all indoor dining had to cease, and Metrick decided to close down and focus solely on the new location, which now occupies the former Muddy Waters Kitchen & Bar, on the banks of the Seneca River at 2 Oswego St. My wife and I were regulars at the original San Miguel on the northside from the time it first opened. Loved it every time we went and we recommended it to all our friends, so we knew we had to try the new location, especially since we live closer to the new location to the old. There's definitely a lot more space. The downtown restaurant seated 91 customers; the Baldwinsville location can accommodate 300, which includes outdoor seating with a waterfront view. The space is decorated nicely. We were sat right away. Chips & salsa immediately on the table as usual. My wife got an order of nachos while I went with the Godzilla Dilla. Everyone was delicious as usual, pricing was what I'd expected, service was fast and friendly. No difference in the quality of food from when they first opened, so we'll be back.

Last summer, the dining room was so hot that people took their dishes outdoor to the picnic tables to eat. Tres Primos has good food and lots of it so it's often very crowded at dinner time. We were fortunate to have come for an early dinner and were the only diners on a snowy day. Service is with a smile and the people that work here seem to enjoy each other's company and enjoy serving customers. The tables and chairs are the best, colorful with beautiful depictions of Mexico. For whatever you order, be prepared to have it served on a platter that's fit for a king, or in my case queen. Food is good and fresh. There is plenty to drink, including a variety of beers and cocktails . There's nothing like drinking a corona to top off a Mexican meal. I ordered what is really a sampler plate with a little bit of everything. I had a Chalupa, a quesadilla, tacos, and a member of other things. Of course, this comes complete with rice and beans. Needless to say, I had a second meal with the leftovers the following night. P.S., they have very good salsa that is served as soon as you were seated with your chips. Don't be afraid to ask for a refill.

We waited a few minutes before we were acknowledged and another few before we were sat. Another several for drinks. The appetizers of chips, salsa, and guac came out fast. Dinner was mediocre, similar to most other Mexican restaurants in the area. My friend had a taco salad and reports it tasted fresher than other places. It also took a while for someone to bring us a check, hard to tell if you're supposed to pay at the entrance. I'm sure we'll be back but I won't be expecting greatness

Third, make sure that you fix the order. Finally, make it up to the patron for having to make a second trip to the restaurant. (This is for pick up orders, specifically). My pick up order was supposed to be ready at 6:45, but I sat there until 7:00 waiting. Then when I got home, I found that we were missing two entrees. The phone number on the website went straight to a busy signal, so leaving my family to eat, I drove back and informed the restaurant of the issue. They handed me one of the entrees in about 10 minutes, but after waiting a while longer, I found the server to ask about the other one, and had to argue with him and the cook that what I ordered and paid for wasn't in the bag. Finally they agreed to fix it and handed me what they insisted were two beef chalupas. Guess what- the picture above is what they handed me. It's soggy corn tortillas with beans, sour cream, lettuce and tomato. Definitely not worth the $15 they charged. Most of the food that we got was tasty. Not amazing, but not terrible. But not worth the $120 for dinner, either. If they had apologized, gotten the food right the second time, and done anything at all to make it worth my while to make a second trip for food I'd already paid for i would have much better things to say. As it is, I'm just disappointed. Go here or not, I guess. But maybe double check your order before you walk out.
