Disappointed with My Surgical Outcome and Lack of Accountability My experience with Mia Aesthetics has been extremely disappointing. I trusted them with my breast augmentation and lift, but I believe I was given the wrong type of lift for my anatomy, resulting in an outcome that did not meet reasonable expectations. At my 3-month post-operative appointment, I expressed my concerns about the appearance of my breasts. Instead of discussing corrective options, I was simply told that my skin "doesn't hold good laxity" and that there was nothing else they could do. It was incredibly discouraging to feel dismissed after investing so much financially and emotionally into this surgery. Over the following months, I repeatedly sent emails asking for help and requesting that my concerns be addressed. Those emails went unanswered for an extended period. Ironically, I finally received a response asking me to come back in for an evaluation--but that email came just one week before I was already scheduled to undergo a complete revision surgery at another clinic, a procedure I had to pay for entirely out of pocket. I went thru the whole process up to where they send it over to the doctor to be approved and give me my quote. Never got an answer. Dr David gray was my surgeon and he did a great job. My body looks great and I'm starting to love it. I did a lipo360 no bbl. At first my impressions were I hate it but it's literally a time thing. You have to allow time for that swelling and GET MASSAGES. One thing I didn't like ? My surgery time was moved back 4 hours and I got out surgery and the recommended place they gave me to send my prescription to was closed so I couldn't get it. This caused me to end up in the ER for pain management cause I was fresh off the table with no medicine what so ever. Overall I do recommend Mia aesthetics but not everything will be perfect. There will be waiting, and send your prescription to a 24 hour pharmacy so you can make sure you get it. My procedure was supposed to be to be with Dr Fasusi but I never got a chance to meet or talk to the doctor. They accused me of forgery! of my Medical information just so they can keep my money.  First of all, I filled out all the documents that was asked of me to the best of my ability.  I got a medical clearance from not only my Primary care doctor but might as well. I have never been hospitalized not treated for heart issues nor take medicine for heart issues if that is what you are referring to.   I faxed over my paperwork 3 times, I uploaded my paperwork 2 times, following the instructions in my portal.  The upload file size is small so I had to upload several documents in small batches to accommodate your file size.   * I paid out of pocket for blood work that cost me $187.00 * I paid out of pocket for a stress test that cost me $1543.74 where my results came back with no issues * I paid out of pocket for Chest X-Rays that cost me $250.00 where no issues were found What I do not, do is lie about my health just to have cosmetic work done.  I am a very health individual as stated by my doctors. If that were an issue, why in the heck was I not told about this, I could have gone to my doctors to get this matter cleared up. I came here to pick up my friend as her caretaker after surgery, things went smoothly in the beginning, but three hours after I dropped her off for surgery, they called me telling me I needed to be on my way in 30 minutes and that they will call me in 30 minutes when she enters the recovery room. 30 minutes went by and I was about to be on my way, but I called them first to make sure because they never got back to me so I was worried. My coordinator Ashley went over everything and was very informational. Dr. Fasusi in Atlanta performed my BBL and I must say I look damn great I can't wait to see my results potential in 3 months. Dr. Fasusi did my surgery in December 2023, Lipo 360, BBL and upper back, arms and bra roll added. So far I am happy and it is only going to get better as swelling goes down. A few things turned me off about the process. One thing that turned me off during the whole process was the wait time for my post op appointment. It was a little over an hour from the appointment time. I am not sure what happened, but I definitely could have been scheduled an hour later so I did not have to stand so long. You tend to get lightheaded. I also would have liked the option to do my follow ups in person. I received phone calls to make sure I was doing well, and if I had any questions at 2 weeks and at 4 weeks and I appreciated it, but I definitely requested to come and be seen in person when I realized it was an option at 4 weeks. I don't know what normal is, so I just need the added direction, security and confidence because online is allll over the place. I live 30 min away, so I definitely would make the trip. The last thing was the process to get pre-approved for surgery. (Once again, I don't know what normal is for lipo 360/bbl), but for my breast augmentation the office I went to handled all of the pre op testing. Here, I had to take a labs requesting clearance form to my primary, pay out of pocket for labs and clearance, because fyi...medical insurance does not cover testing for cosmetic surgery options. They did all of the testing (It was $280) and they were familiar with Mia Aesthetics & Dr. Fasusi's names (Yay). But when the labs came in, Dr. Fasusi requested a x-ray to be done because of my previous breast augmentation...Understandable, BUT he did not write a referral for the x-ray where I could just walk into a outpatient x-ray center and pay $50 and walk out... So I would have had to go back to the primary physicians office to be seen for the referral, which was an additional $150 because it was an additional visit for some reason (Their office, their policies). This prompted me to call the Mia office and ask if Dr. Fasusi would mind writing the referral so I could skip the last step and he did. I just felt like the process could have had a lot less steps. Since my surgery in December of 2023, I have noticed that they now offer to do the labs so hopefully that takes the primary physician out of the equation, because that was a lot of running! But the care at Mia Aesthetics and the result, I love. I would refer to Dr. Fasusi and go back. I was referred by one of Dr. Gray's patients myself :). Have realistic expectations for yourself, look at results from your doctor, look at similar results for your body type and selected surgeries. Do what makes you happy. WEAR YOUR FAJA, COMPRESSION SOCKS, BOARDS, FOAMS AND KEEP YOUR INCISIONS AND ENVIRONMENT CLEAN! This is still surgery, whether it is cosmetic or not...Infection is preventable and up to you once you are off that table. Know your plan for follow up care prior to your surgery and set it in stone prior to the surgery. Of course outcomes can vary, but common sense is not common. I have never felt more let down and given more of a run around in my life. Zero communication outside of the canned responses from the "Concierge" group who never seem to have any real answers and can never truly escalate a situation. To start with, my surgery was cancelled without notifying me. I sent in new labs with the promise of a 72hr review so that the surgery could be re-scheduled. A week later I had to call in to find out the status and they now won't return or answer my calls if I call from the phone number on record. I made the mistake of paying for this surgery in full and now I can't get my file even reviewed for scheduling let alone speak to someone about getting a refund. I don't blame Dr. Gray, but he has got to know how this makes him and the company he works for look like a dishonest, disorganized and unprofessional company. I feel like Dr. Gray will be a good surgeon for me but I may never know because now I have to worry about what my aftercare will look like if it is this difficult to just get rescheduled. These are surgical services not a pizza delivery order. A patient should always feel taken care of from start to finish. It would be interesting to see how much money has been lost because of the "concierge" group and the "lab department". The owner of this company should be furious and embarrassed. People need to band together and do a class action suit, this company as always stealing from their customers, by finding illegal ways to keep your deposit, makes no sense that you are not allowed to get your money back if you don't have the procedure. They don't allow you to switch providers or procedures without an charge, if you change providers or procedures the take away the promotion discount. If they come with a better promotion prior to your procedure they will not allow you to qualify for that promotion. Instead they charge you full price without a discount if you make any charges. I am not sure if the providers are aware of these unethical behaviors they need to be held accountable as well, this is the company they are representing. I am not going to say the providers don't do good work but their practice and being money hungry and taking what they have not earned is off the chain. It's time for a class action suit let's get together and find an attorney willing to stand up for these unethical behaviors. ATL MIA AESTHETICS: please don't let these positive reviews fool you. i had a very good experience up until surgery day. a lady approached me that morning in the parking lot and begged me not to follow through with it. she proceeded to go into great detail about how they treated her and how she ended up in the emergency room hours after her BBL. the clinic cracked it up to her being older and having "pre existing health issues" they assumed. i got there around 6:40 and my surgery was scheduled for 7:15. i was taken back after 8:00 and waited there until 9:00. they just leave you in a room for hours. the first nurse stuck me twice to start an IV. there was a bunch of back and forth about my piercings which ultimately didn't even end up being an issue. the doctor finally comes in (dr.gross). he marked me up and conversated with me about what's to come. he said "do you have kids" i said "yes" he said something along the lines of "i hope you're done having kids" because my results wouldn't be the same. everything was going okay at this point... THEN THE ANESTHESIOLOGIST COMES IN. she was extremely rude and cold. she was telling me how i was young and i remind her of the 18 year olds that come in there crying for their mamas. im 23 and my parent is deceased. i am a mother to two babies and i am so glad i wrote a written will in my bag. anyways, it seemed like an insult to me. this woman started rambling about how the surgery is 45 min and the recovery is 45 min. she said "there's no waiting, you're in and out, that's how we do things around here" "i want you out within 20 seconds of getting in the OR, there's 2 women waiting after you and the doctor has already done 6 BBLS BEFORE YOU." she told me id wake up shivering and she doesn't want to hear that im cold because it happens to everyone and they don't care. she said "once you come to your senses you're out of here" at this moment i got cold feet. i walked back to the OR and i said i feel like im about to pass out. the anesthesiologist proceeded to say "if you're going to pass out hit the table" i laid down and she strapped my arms down. the anesthesiologist said there's 6 nurses in the back and all of the ladies are in beds side by side. i was already 4 days off my anxiety medication. they gave me nothing to calm my nerves. at this moment she realized my IV wasn't working. she proceeded to stick me 6 TIMES. she was yelling at me to make a fist and i was about to burst out in tears. she kept hitting my hands and arms out of frustration. she ultimately ended up getting so frustrated she said we could just reschedule. the other nurses in the room with me kept asking if i was okay. they seemed so concerned and she did not. there was even a language barrier between the nurses and i, and i could still feel their empathy. they watched all of this happen so this isn't hearsay. two other eyes witnessed this negligence. i prayed to what i believe in to save me from this place and my god did just that. i sat up off of that table and sprinted back to the room to change into my clothes. i could hear them talking about me by my first and last name, WHICH IS A HIPAA VIOLATION. i could hear the nurses and anesthesiologist through the door. a nurse came in and told me i needed to take a xanax before i come again knowing i was an addict in recovery for the last 5 years. they tried to blame the reason for the "reschedule" because i was too anxious. but in reality i was dehydrated from not being able to eat or drink for 12+ hours and my veins kept moving. and im sure i was anxious after being treated like an ANIMAL! might i add, they didn't even have what they needed for an iv in the OR room. they rescheduled me for the 21st but i have already hired a malpractice lawyer and will be getting my $4908 back. i will plaster this review EVERYWHERE. they have yet to call me and apologize. i will also include some pictures of the bruises i have so they can give me my money back and ill take this review down or we can just talk in court and ill get my money back regardless. read more

I got the complete opposite, everyone from the receptionist to the doctor (Dr Gross), to the anesthesia doctor was sooooooooooo nice, informative and supportive! Even the support staff, assistants were so very nice and comforting. I definitely recommend paying a little extra and just going to Atlanta instead of Miami. The surgical coordinator Janice has been a bottleneck in my process. I can't seem to move forward; it makes me very nervous to think this one person is in complete control of the entire process until minutes before a person ends up in an operating room. It's not unreasonable for a person to want to be involved in a procedure that could potentially cause loss of life. I was told that the procedure would need to be fully funded before the day of surgery, but when I asked more questions about the fact that she nor the surgeon knew what I looked like, she said the changes could be made last minute when I arrived for surgery. How does that work when a person must be paid in full before arrival? The coordinator gave me very specific advice over the phone without seeing a single photo of me. I'm not sure if it's an overhead thing; maybe the company is saving money with this practice, but it seems strange to forbid communication unless it's with the coordinator and expect everyday people to trust a person they don't know essentially with their lives. Sorry, I don't know Janice Thompson, and the customer service was lacking. If I am going to be told that I cannot communicate with anyone but her until an hour before I end up on an operating table, the very least she could have done is get my name correct on the correspondence she emails me. A friend went in for lipa on monday was told she could not get it done she needed a tummy tuck instead she has had complications since ended up in ER very next day with bleeding and swelling went back to office on weds(today) at 830am in pain and bleeding was told she needed to wait until 2pm for surgery because she had 2 crackers at 630am got called back at 215pm waited another 2hrs until she went into surgery. Don't waste your time with Mia. Had my surgery in Jan 2023 and still have the same body. It's been 5 months now and still not hips or butt. I knew something was wrong because when I went home the day off surgery there was no difference. Even the doctor told me day #1 your hips will fluff in 3 months. Then after 1 month post op he said fluffing isn't real. They say whatever you want to hear and when it comes time to confront them no one is there. As a mother, small business owner, teacher, woman, human being...I chose this plastic surgery group (Mia Esthetics) because I really like what Dr. Willis offered and the work that was being done. After paying my deposit ($800 + dollars), filling out paperwork, and fully disclosing ALL of my previous medical history( Postpartum cardio myopathy w/ my 13 year old daughter when she was born), and communicating in a timely manner, my treatment was much less than mediocre. After several calls, emails, and left messages, after being given a new "point person" three times, I finally received the request to submit my blood work and doctor's release. Though they've had my medical history since late April of 2021, in AUGUST of 2021, and after I've done my blood work, doctor's okay to have the surgery done, I'm notified that Dr. Willis doesn't work with patience who have had previous conditions with their heart. I wish myself and my time would've been considered. I feel like I was not considered when concerning giving me the opportunity to find another doctor in time for my birthday. Pros. Finally met with Dr. Fasusi 5min prior to sx. Cons: upon meeting wth him procedure was changed and this procedure change came with an increase in price. This should have been related to me days in advance that there is a possibility of procedure changing and an increase. Not 5 minutes prior well you owe another 1700 dollars. WTH. You send pics and nothing is said after that! besides you meet with medical assistants until the day of. I've had cosmetic surgeries before and never had this issue of not meeting the doctor ahead of time to be told exactly what your options are and what can and should be done to receive optimal results. This should be finalized East in advance. You literally have a second to think about it and that's it! Even the dates and time of surgery is not confirmed until 5p the day before! Guess no one else has to make arrangements So here we go to the next -incompetent manager who can't process a care credit charge . Manager ARROJ. Mind you I just paid with this card the day before and it was processed with no issues. She comes to collect the balance and unfortunately has no clue how care credit works or how to process payment. Very frustrating seeing how I already had anxiety about the surgery but now I have to deal with finding out about the new procedure and now a new payment that was finally processed after calling care credit to walk this incompetent manager through the charge process. Contemplating whether I need to run from this place. I had never experienced this on the day of surgery let alone 5 min prior to being pulled back for surgery. I was not happy with the service and would never come back nor recommend. FYI- if you have to cancel or change anything after your deposit is made it will cost $500. You will not see the doctor until the minute before surgery. So if there are any discrepancies or medical issues to discuss on top of anxiety on the day of you will have more discussing any changes. People......this place is the worst. Massage appointment was at 930.. tell me why they just called me back an hour ago(1230)Guess what still waiting for my massage and naked and the room is freezing. Are you kidding me? Came last week, same thing but said giving them another try. Last week fresh out of surgery, they won't even help you with your faja. As if it's foreign to help someone get dressed after a surgery. These people are Crazy!! Many don't even realize they in the wrong profession. I don't even think they have an office mgr. My surgical coordinator Courtney was absolutely amazing. Whenever I left a message for the concierge, I did always get a call back or an email. You're not going to get somebody every time you call because they have many patients that they have to get back to. As somebody who works in the medical field, I understand how things work, so this aspect did not bother me at all. Dr Fasusi and his staff, were very kind and professional towards me. I think the only issue I had was not receiving my pre-op time until the day before. That's very inconvenient for people who work. That is the only negative thing I have to say though. I had a smooth booking, great treatment from the staff, good experience with my surgical coordinator, and a good experience with the concierge. There is not enough praise I can give Dr Fasusi, as any compliment I give him would be an understatement. He is kind, patient, understanding, and very informative. He is the kind of surgeon most patients look for. I'm going to recommend him to everybody I know.I want to say at first, I did not want to book here, because the reviews are not the best. I know from experience, that most people won't leave a review unless it's a bad experience, which is sad, but true. Not a zero but not a 5 when it could be! Process was quick for me in regard to scheduling putting deposit of $500 and having all done within 29 days. The inconsistency in communication regarding pre op instructions were ALL over the place from the lab saying not to take medications that were in fact safe per the Dr, to the post op instructions from every nurse that I encountered. I ended up being forced to stop a much needed medication for 30 days unnecessarily due to incorrect information. Make sure you have plan B support for pain medication management- they only give you "3" days worth of meds. Thank God for my PCP helping me. I also ended up with post op infection of drain site needing iv antibiotics via ER. Nurses can be rough and too busy during post op visits. Stop triple booking and making patients wait "3" hours to be seen by a nurse!! We are uncomfortable and need to be home resting. Not sitting fully naked on an exam table alone due to no visitors allowed! Overall, my surgery was a success, I'm very happy with the results- Dr. Grey did wonderful work for sure. His staff just needs more consistent training for the sake of patient care! Also watch your invoices and keep all receipts as multiple people try to collect from you at every visit even when PAID IN FULL. Definitely cheaper than most surgeons but you're definitely not gonna get top quality "fluff" medical care from this company, so don't expect it. read more

This ordeal had some good and bad parts the communication overall was not so great. This makes it a great Challenge, the Reps that set up things give really inaccurate information.Making it difficult but if you can get thru it to a good rep after talking to many it will lead you to Surgery which I WAS nervous My Doctor OBI, E, and the team on the day of surgery made it comforting actually he answered the question I HAD and made me feel like a patient, not a number.I really felt safe with the procedure and Dr. E they kept me calm and really showed compassion. Then it all went downhill the POSTOP was the most horrible part the Clerks are not so nice and disingenuous Office manager at ATL i won't put her name lead the nastiness, and rudeness you will experience them talking about damn near an ear shot away, and making fun of you. The Office manager is the ring leader for the behavior and some follow her suit. This ordeal can be scary and the need for KINDNESS and compassion and understanding is important that was not experienced by PO. ATL does things very differently and the drugs that are on demand is the very pain medication you need ( YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET MEDICATION AND HELP THATS IS THE WAY this post turned positive. I wanted to be transparent and suggest an improvement. Having surgery in a new city is hard enough but to have obstacles that could be prevented and ppl you have to trust make you feel unwanted meaning you don't really want to be in contact but you need them for guidance and knowledge and even support. I cried a bit not from surgery but the experience was disappointing the office manager made me feel like coming there was bothering them and she is argumentative Remember I said ppl talking about you and making Fun i walked in 2 times were i heard it because i was sent home with no MEDS no help to relieve pain and no guidance also remember i had to fight to get MEDS .they will make you feel like after being sliced up if you try and get meds they prescribe like you are some kinda drug user . would be treated unfairly. I am a US soldier and have served boots on the ground these ppl were making fun of me again ringleader and they would be earshot away. Some of the staff a lot showed understanding and kindness one nurse in particular was assisting DR E for my post-op and the massage therapist. this is where it all turned around KINDNESS during such an ordeal. the PO overshadowed Dr E. work meaning i never even looked at my body as i was focused on the negative interaction.. I can't say if i would ever want to come to ATL for surgery or anything but I will say if you take note of combating ill-treatment your surgeon will make you beautiful..Just watch who you come in contact with again Office manager is not a black woman she is a NINJA there is a difference and will act as one all the way thru .. Please research customer service and attentiveness when having surgery is just as important as the surgeon/. Don't be shocked at rolling eyes slammed doors and constant attempts to engage you negatively as you hear them talking bad about you and truly not caring at all i mean at all.I asked for her BOSS and the clerks basically didn't know to provide one lady said she was unaware the Office manager had a Boss one lady said go online its sad how callous behavior is supported.I have not seen any final results but i wanted to help someone know what to look for and what to do . Because it took a fight to get clear instruction, support, and medication for pain ..MIA ATLT really disappointed me truly . I cant wait to never have to see this ppl again except my surgical team.Dr. E stayed professional but taking up for staff that is wrong and not being Privy to truth can impact your outcome. i will update my final outcome of how i look and if any extra charge as MONEY is the factor and being RUDE is the way ..that office manager made my surgery HORRIBLE ANDNI CRIED not from surgery because they didnt help nor show compassion and made fun of me being a Soldier i have never had ppl making fun of someone putting their life on the line as my son is presently serving .. Remember you will come in contact with a slew of ppl but a few NINJAS, in particular, you will recognize them. I am a black woman and i can say that as i know the difference. Again the work was overshadowed i wasn't excited or happy or even cared about seeing my body i was in so much pain and put so much in to getting help.
