For the past year and a half, I've been a loyal patient at this practice, and I can't sing their praises enough! From the moment you walk in, the front desk staff greets you with warmth and genuine hospitality. Plus, the convenience of checking in via their app or an iPad in-office makes the process a breeze! While I understand that waiting can sometimes be part of the experience--especially when visiting a specialist--I've always found the atmosphere to be worth the wait. I previously saw Dr. Baender, but recently had the pleasure of being treated by Sharon Doering (PA) after Dr. Baender moved on. Sharon is phenomenal! She takes the time to ensure all your questions are answered, even on the busiest days, making you feel valued and cared for. I've never had a bad visit here (though I understand that off days can happen). I wholeheartedly recommend giving this practice a try! The only downside for this place is that you have to pay for parking in the deck, but it's a small price to pay for such excellent care! read more

Prior to my appointment, I contacted the office to provide my insurance information. During that call, I attempted to relay my details to the staff member assisting me, but it was quite difficult to hear one another due to another employee in the background speaking loudly and inappropriately about a male patient. I remained patient through multiple interruptions and repeated my information several times but ultimately had to ask the representative to kindly request that the background conversation be lowered so we could hear each other properly. On the day of my appointment, Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., I encountered another troubling interaction. Upon arrival, an older front desk employee informed me that "I" had canceled my appointment. I explained that I had not canceled and attempted to show her my text confirmation. Unfortunately, she did not acknowledge the message or even look up from her screen as she insisted, I had canceled. When I tried again to show the text confirmation, she abruptly walked away without comment. She eventually returned and told me I to have a seat until I was called, but there was no apology or explanation regarding the apparent cancellation. As if it was my fault that the appointment was cancelled or I was lying when I had the confirmation text. I work in healthcare and am familiar with EMR systems, which maintain a digital footprint of appointment changes. I respectfully ask: who canceled my appointment and why? I can't help but feel this incident may have stemmed from my earlier request over the phone; if so, that would be deeply concerning and wholly unprofessional. It is malicious due to my request to ask your co-worker to lower her voice sharing another patient's information. In healthcare, sharing another patient's information is on a need-to-know basis. While I've decided not to return to your facility, I do want to acknowledge the professionalism and kindness shown by the provider, his MA - Jaina and Rhea. Their courtesy stood in contrast to the employee over the phone and the front office interaction. read more

I have encountered several issues with this practice, but they truly dropped the ball when I was undergoing a nine-month treatment plan. On the day of my monthly visit, I was contacted by management, informing me that the practice no longer accepts my insurance. As a new mother, I had already scheduled a babysitter for that day. I advised the representative that this was late notice and missing this visit would significantly disrupt my treatment regimen. Instead of showing compassion, the office manager began ranting about the numerous issues they had with the insurance company. I found this extremely insensitive and it reminded me of the overall insensitivity exhibited by the entire office, including the front desk personnel. In fact, there was an instance when a nurse practitioner attempted to bill me for missing an appointment, despite it being an emergency that they had no control over. Let's simply state that it is evident that they have encountered problems with my insurance, but this does not concern me. If they had handled the situation appropriately, billing would have contacted me at least 15 days in advance to inform me of the issue, providing me with ample time to find another dermatologist to continue my treatment plan. Being advised of the problems with the insurance afterwards, and not during the cause of the issue, caused a significant discrepancy because the fallback was on me rather than the practice. I do not believe this practice has any regard for their patients. But, on a lighter note, I am extremely grateful that I found an exceptional practice that accepts same-day visits, has an amazing call center, great atmosphere overall and treats me with the utmost respect and care. This is the complete opposite of Olansky Dermatology. Anne Arundel Dermatology has been nothing short of a lifesaver. Thanks for taking the time to read this. read more

Do NOT go here if you care about your skin. I saw Dr Olansky to treat discoloration. I actually made the appointment for that and another topic and was told on arrival that 'he doesn't cover that, you'd need to see someone else.' This Dr used liquid nitrogen on my face in the middle of my forehead without any discussion or treatment plan or what to expect. I came for a cosmetic issue, so having a large black scab on my forehead wasn't great. Following that, I have discoloration that is 10x worse than where I was before I came in. I sent the office a note and they scheduled a check-in with another practitioner that was then canceled. 7 weeks later I have visible large discoloration. I've seen multiple highly rated doctors that wouldn't have taken this approach. I have skin prep, bleaching, and likely painful laser treatments to get me back to where I was before going in to this dr. read more

DO NOT GO HERE for injections. HORRIBLE. I received aesthetic services from Olansky, because I also go there for dermatology. I love the dermatology side, but the aesthetic side is horrible. I received botox and filler. 1. The botox was uneven, and didnt take, so I went in for a correction, and the correction didnt work. (diluted?!) And left me more uneven due to bad injecting technique for bruxism. Uneven smile now. The provider offered to have me come in for a 3rd time to fix these mistakes, but I have lost trust in the practice due the poor service I received. 2. I requested a full syringe of filler in my lips, and the injector told me she didnt feel comfortable doing the full syringe. My lips are very normal sized and she had already numbed me before having this conversation with me. This is a control tactic and is INCREDIBLY unprofessional. Also, I have scar tissue in my lips because I am a stunt performer and athlete and get hit in the mouth a lot-I have my whole life due to contact sports- and I dont think they deal with this very often because what I was saying just wasn't clicking. So she agreed to do half a syringe bc my lips were slightly uneven. Well, now due to the bad bruxism injections of botox, and the fact that she only did half a syringe, my lips are TOTALLY and noticeably lopsided along with my smile. 3. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! They also didnt tell me until after I had the service that they no longer accept Ally points. Unprofessional and bad business practice. Im so upset with my experience here. Extra conservative, controlling, bad injecting, and I believe the botox was too diluted. TO top it off, I got a random bill in the mail that said I OWED THEM MORE MONEY! I paid 1885.00 for half a syringe of filler plus an adjustment to my botox which they charged me for (this is also absurd), and their bill that they sent me is wrong, made up numbers. It's virtually impossible to get a human on the phone and when you finally do, there's a good chance they will be rude or just ignore your requests. The scheduling process is painful. They are never on time. You're lucky if you get 2 minutes of a PA's time before they push off on you the latest drug that benefits them more to prescribe than it benefits you to take. I love Dr Ganz but God forbid you have to change your appointment- they take so many customers, the reschedule is always months out. I had a less than pleasant experience at Olansky. This was my first time coming here as I had seen their positive reviews and wanted to give it a try. I arrived 30 mins early to my appointment to make sure I had time to fill out paperwork and wait. I didn't expect to be called back early, but at least on time would've been nice. I sat until 3:45 and then asked the front desk when I may be called back as I had somewhere else I needed to be after and I was rudely told "Oh the doctor you're seeing is just thorough so she takes a long time with patients. If you need to reschedule because you have something else we can." If the doctor is so thorough, why doesn't the practice then schedule her appointments farther apart? It's not my responsibility as a patient to be forced to reschedule if I am on time and the practice is not. She told me the person being seen in front of me was the 3:20 appointment and mine was at 3:30. That just seems to be poor planning on their part if she's sooooo "thorough." I then waited until 3:50 to be called back and wasn't even seen by the doctor until 4 pm. I found this incredibly rude and unprofessional being 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment that I made MONTHS before AND showed up early to. My "thorough" appointment was 8 minutes long (which did not feel thorough at all to me) and the doctor was basically walking out the door as I tried to ask questions about what she prescribed me and how/when I should use it. I still didn't get all of my questions answered. I left feeling extremely frustrated, rushed and that not a single member of the staff cared about me or my concerns. I have been coming to Olansky for almost 10 years. My husband is also a patient here and we are both very happy with the practice. Dr. Bellamy, Sharon Doering, and Caroline Howell are who I have seen for various reasons, and they all take time to understand my situations and concerns and then provide the best treatment options. One of the medicines I was prescribed required very specific doctor recommendations to allow for insurance coverage, and they made sure to cover that with me, and then the meds came from a specialized pharmacy and the prescription cost coverage is complicated. Sharon and her nurses helped me navigate that in order to receive the medicine, which was great customer service. I have not had any issues with online appointments, my patient portal, or calling in to make an appointment. The office folks are always nice and professional. read more

After several months of battling a horrible case of forehead acne (at age 28), my friend recommended Olansky Dermatologists... and I am glad she did! I've been going to Julia (PA)for a few months now and I couldn't be happier! Prior to visiting this this practice, I'd tried all of the natural home remedies and several OTC products, but they all just made it worse. Now, only a few months later, the acne has completely cleared, and we are working on toning the scars. Julia is thorough and I love how she explains exactly what's going on with my skin and how each product in my treatment plan works. The office staff is great and they are really good about working with your insurance company to get the prescription covered. My insurance company originally denied the RetinA prescription. Before the pharmacy or insurance company could notify me, someone from the office called me to let me know they'd already taken care of it. No issues. I'd definitely recommend them. read more

Not a good experience at all. First of all, I remember when I made the appointment I asked if they wanted my insurance information and they said no just bring it with me. So I said out what I thought to be an early appointment so I could get to work and yet it was 40 minutes before we were seen. For one, they wanted my insurance information and the woman at the front desk was incredibly rude. This is the first point of contact, and it left a poor impression. Just from the front desk alone, I would never want to come back here. Secondly, the provider we saw was very stoic and cold. She really did not interact well at all with my daughter, and her manner was quite perfunctory. She also contradicted herself a couple times, and we both left confused on what we were supposed to do in the whole five minutes she was in the room. Furthermore, the treatment she suggested has not helped at all, and in fact probably made it worse. Also I got another bill because surprise, they did not get my co-pay correct. I tried to log in the portal, even tried to reset my password and nothing worked so I just gave up and had to call the billing department. I'm just glad to be all settled up. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere if you have dermatology issues. From the front desk to clinical side, it was a poor experience. read more

I have been coming to this office for 20 years. Clearly something has changed for the worse. The customer service of this office has has plummeted. I called to make an appointment last week and after 10 minutes on hold, the receptionist said that she didn't know whether I needed a doctor or a nurse practitioner and that I needed to call back. I explained that I was just there 2 hours earlier and I needed the exact same thing in 6 weeks. She still insisted on transferring me. No answer. I left a message 4 days ago....no call back. I just tried to call right now and after 5 minutes of hold music I got a machine affirming my importance and how sorry for my delay which was anticipated to be.....wait for it....11 MORE minutes. Hire some staff. Train them. Go back to basics. Dr. Olansky knew how to run a practice; this is abysmal. Update 1/14/2020 - Angela at Olansky Dermatology is FIVE STARS PLUS! I went to Olansky dermatology 4 times with the same problem. I had a wart on my thumb and they tried to freeze it 4 times but it did not help. I had to go to another Dermatologist who used a different treatment that helped. After that, I had a fungal infection on my feet. Olansky Dermatology PA told me that is is psoriasis or eczema and treated me for a half a year for that disease. When I told them that it does not help, they called another Physician and he confirmed that it was psoriasis. Finally, I went to a different clinic where the did a test on my skin and it was a fungal infection. I would never recommend Olansky Dermatology to anyone. read more

I switched to Olansky after getting tired of my dermatologist's office staff. There is only a certain number of times I'm willing to put up with excessive wait times for scheduled appointments and repeated demands for a co-pay when my insurance doesn't have one. I haven't experienced any of those things at Olansky. The staff is courteous, efficient and downright pleasant. The doctors? Yeah, they rock, too (I've been seen by Drs. Baender and Burger). I'm not going into details - this is a public Yelp review, not a medical history survey. Parking is OK. This last time, the machine wouldn't take my credit card and I had to feed it cash. I would say "don't go here," but they're going to get business regardless, so I'll just share my experience. I had a regular pimple underneath my face, that grew to be extremely large, and when it finally burst and went down, it didn't completely go away. It left a permanent, cyst-like bump. I had another one on the side of my face that had never left, and it had been about 2 years, so I decided to get them both removed, however, I only ended up having one done after the botched results. I had gone here years prior, to Dr. Baender, to have a cyst by my eye removed. It healed well, so I trusted the results would be the same this time. I chose Dr. Baender again. She seems sweet, but after digging a surgical hole in my face, she didn't even ask if I had any questions. I had to stop her from leaving, to ask questions, and after each question, she turned to walk out. I had to keep stopping her, making me feel like I was a burden and my business was unwanted. I was instructed to return a week later to have the stitches removed. I felt it was too soon, considering the location, but I followed her instructions. After removal, neither her or her nurse gave me any instructions on how to care for the wound. Being rushed once again, I had to stop her in the hallway to ask if I should use silicone sheets on the scar. She said "yes, you can use those." That's it... she said nothing more. The next day, the wound had opened up completely. It didn't hurt, but it was a reddish-pink, completely open sore. I emailed her staff on the portal and told them the situation, also attaching a photo. Dr. Baender writes back, saying that she sees it has opened up more since the visit and to simply apply ointment and sunscreen on it, and let it heal. She said that I could schedule a follow-up, but I wasn't trying to do that just to be rushed and over-charged with no prior info given on pricing or how they break up payments and don't tell you until the next time, catching you off guard that you still have another $300 to pay. I now have a peanut-sized keloid underneath my face. It's been 4 months and after trying many methods, it seems to have flattened out a little, but it's still disheartening to have to look at it everyday, and always feel self-conscious in the presence of others. I hate the look of it, and wish I would've just left the original bump in hopes that it would eventually go away. I paid about $600 to have an uglier scar than I already had, then I was sent another bill for $65, due to her sending it to lab. That was unnecessary, as I had already told her exactly what it was. Then, I asked for advice on products to improve my overall skin. She told me to wait a few months until we saw how the cortisone shots worked on all of the papsules underneath my face, and jawline, that I got the shots in. I didn't think a quick glimpse at my overall skin, and some recommendations for in the meantime was asking too much, but ok. I'll never be returning here, and will seek advice to rectify this situation. Choose wisely, and go to a practice who cares and ensures satisfactory results. read more

It took 4 attempts via phone calls (holding for over 10 minutes) at a time to be able to speak with someone to set up an appointment. During this time, sent an email to set up and appointment and was provided with a blunt response to call them....which was going ever so well as noted above. Trying to reschedule an appointment, the person was so rude I just told them to cancel and they were like great and hung up. The last time I saw a doctor there, I asked a question about some skin issues and the doctor and assistant glanced at each other and just laughed and then said there was nothing to do. I had a very bad experience here. I went to Rebecca to help with some skin issues I was having. I felt like she came off very rude and not interested in helping me. She also charged my card $125 dollars for a cream that I didn't authorize and called in to say I did not want BEFORE it was supposed to be made. I never received the cream. This dermatological firm is atrocious. , Arrogant, unprofessional, and just plain AWFUL, especially the uncaring, rude manager. We went through a great ordeal to have our insurance company work out an arrangement with these unprofessional people. When I brought my son in for laser hair removal for a polynidal cyst, the technician made every excuse to not do her job and remove the hair. Then I get this condescending manager, who decided to try and get aggressive with me. That was where I drew the line. Half of their reviews are a 1 because they are atrocious. The manager responds to these negative reviews with a generic pre-made response that is the same for all of her lousy reviews. Just shows what a terrible practice this is. BEWARE... The Drs. in the non-aesthetic side of the office that I've had appts with have been knowledgeable and patient, explaining everything about different types of skin cancers, pre-cancers, etc. The office staff, on the other hand, is not friendly, helpful or customer service oriented. It's even worse now that they seem to have changed their appointments system or trying to reach a Dr or Nurse with questions and it's impossible to get a person on the phone. I had a question about a medication, and never got a person. I ended up emailing my General Practice Dr. for the answer even though the medicine was prescribed by an Olansky Dr. Even worse, their online system has not worked the last 3 times I tried logging in to change an appointment. I get that you are short staffed and everyone is burned out, but there needs to be better solution than an automated/texting system. Hopefully management will take notice of these concerns and address them and improve the overall experience. read more

Great dermatology clinic. I've been seeing Dr Baedner for the last 3 years and she is always through and methodical with my annual skin cancer exam. I trust her. There's an esthitician on staff and I've seen her once to get a consult. I'm certain she is very good at what she does, but it was too pricy for me. Great website with all the information. My review is based on my experience here on Dr Jodi Ganz since I started seeing her and her staffs for the past 4 years. Let's just by saying I used to have flawless skin. Ok, I am sure someone will protest and say most of us are almost born with flawless skin. I never have acne or breakout even when I was a teen. I never have a single issue with my skin, period. Then after living in Atlanta for the past many many years have gotten me developing seasonal allergies and triggers the demon namely eczema in me and developed worst on my face. Yes, God is fair. I had struggled with managing eczema for those early period and Dr. Ganz has always been there for me. Nowadays, occasionally I may have faint pink patches on my face when the weather changes drastically but I am doing well. Those days when my face would have red angry itchy patches were gone. This morning I had another appointment after a long absence and posed Dr. Ganz with my new issue- a 4mm dark patch/mole that grew on my lower lip. I guess the sun + convertible may have caused it. Dr. Ganz suggested to remove it and send it to the lab. She explained to me the procedures and the various steps that she would be performing. I was more than happy to agree and wanted to have the procedure done right away. I am not one who donned dark or red lipsticks all the time, so when a light sheer gloss cannot cover the dark patch, that needs to go. I would not go into the graphic details of the procedure, just say I did not feel a thing when Dr. Ganz shaved off that patch and gave the wound a couple of stitches. Dr. Ganz is always very patient, personable and cheery. Her staffs/assistants are always friendly. Waiting time is probably the shortest of all the medical offices I have been. Yeah, I don't look too pretty at this moment, but I do not really care since I know the wound will heal and stitches will be out this coming Friday. In the mean time, just no hot drinks and more SPF lipstick or glosses from now on. read more

I hardly ever visit a dermatologist, but 2012 is my year of health and I figured I better go get my skin checked out as part of that resolution; so I made appointment with Olansky since they are located across the street from my office. Making the appointment was pretty painless with just a short call to the office, and they were able to see me the following week. About 2 days before my appointment I got a reminder call about my appointment which I guess is a good thing for people that don't remember stuff like that. The day of the appointment I walk across to Olansky where I go in and sign in at the desk. Then after signing in, signing their HIPAA permission form, and filling out an information sheet I'm told to wait in the lobby which as most people know seems like an eternity (maybe 20 minutes). After waiting a nurse comes out and escorts me to a room where I wait again for Doctor Ganz to come in to "look me over", which wasn't so bad; maybe 5 minutes. Dr. Ganz did a great job in my opinion; she seemed to be very knowledgeable about what she was doing and had a great personality. Everything turned out fine, and as all dermatologists that I've seen in the past she reminded me to use my sun block at all times. If you are in the Buckhead area I would certainly recommend seeing Dr. Ganz at Olansky. read more
