I can't believe the gross condition my nails are in after visiting this salon. I got Shellac Medium Coffin nails with designs on all fingers/different color tips. This was my first time ever visiting this shop. I was I interested in finding a nail salon nearby that didn't grind the nail bed. The vibe there was friendly and I was happy with my service - even scheduled my next appointment before I left. That was on Thursday and less than five days later I notice green coloring under each nails in the corners of both sides close to the cuticle! I have never in all the many many years of getting my nails done has a nail fungus and that includes me doing my own nails using Shellac and acrylic. I don't know if the tools used were sanitized, which I hoped they were. Unfortunately, I have no clue because this is a first for me. $85 nails, that I'm currently popping off and hands full of nail funguses! This has been the worst nail salon experience ever! We met at the store and she overheard my conversation with my honey so she approached me to tell me to stop by your place. She said they will know who she is. Absolutely NOT. Being from out of town, I have never personally been for services. But my mother-in-law lives in the area. She is not tech savvy enough to handle e-gift cards, etc. The girls at Mia Sorella have been so kind to mail her physical gift certificates for us when we call and request them. When my MIL has gone for services, she calls us and tells us that the place is clean and lovely, she had great service and everyone was so nice to her. THANK YOU LADIES! read more

After having been searching high and low for a quality manicure/pedicure experience in or around Baltimore, I dove onto Yelp and found Mia Sorella as the only nail salon which had consistently glowing reviews, so I took a shot. Located only 10 minutes from my home, they were able to accomodate me as a walk in first thing during a weekday. However, due to the intimate size of the shop they recommend (and I do too) a prior appointment. Located on the corner lot of a residential neighborhood, you can blink and miss it driving by. After talking with one of gals there my sense is that they have quite a few regulars with standing weekly appointments. Although it wasn't busy for me that morning, the feeling here is definitely that of the neighborhood salon where everybody knows everybody after coming here for awhile. What drew me here versus your traditional strip mall nail shop was an experience I was seeking: relaxing and not rushed, professional and with high quality results. I was very happy with my first visit, received a manicure only, but will definitely plan to experience the pedicure soon (the pedi spa chairs looked amazingly comfortable). The classic (not Spa) manicure was $17 without tip. Slightly more expensive than your strip mall shop, but please trust that the experience is well worth it. All of the employees were super friendly and welcoming to a first-time visitor to their shop, I'm hopeful this will be the end of the road in my search for a quality nail salon for some weekly pampering. read more

This nail salon is the best! They can actually do nail art that is beautiful. They make sure to provide clean water for pedicures versus nasty non filtered water other salons use. I was able to get in two days later with a pretty open personal schedule. Plenty of up to date color options/nail art/ trends. Very clean. Yesterday, Erica gave my 86 year-old mother the first pedicure of her life. My mom was actually a little nervous. She grew up in a shack in Appalachia and she has never been the type to pamper herself. Her feet and legs are very sensitive now. Erica was just wonderful. So seriously lovely! You must check out Mia Sorella - much better than any manicure I've gotten in the area, and very reasonably priced. Went in for a shellac mani and the whole team was talented, meticulous, and attentive to detail. They took their time and didn't seem rushed at all. Best of all, the ladies at Mia Sorella are so sweet and wonderful to pass a half hour with. I've had manicures all over - New York, LA, DC, London, etc - and the service I got at Mia Sorella was world class. I'm so sorry to be moving away, because otherwise I'd be back here constantly. Recommended by a friend, and now I'm passing on that recommendation. Heads up: you're going to need an appointment, and they generally book 2-3 weeks out. Accordingly, this is a busy location so don't go expecting a super relaxing atmosphere. What you do get is a friendly, chatty vibe - even on my first appointment I felt completely welcomed in. This salon is particularly known for its nail art, which is why I travelled. Anna did my manicure which limited me to 'simple' art - she's currently an apprentice but not far away from her licensing exam. I had no clue what I was after so she guided me through choosing a colour and selecting my nail art, which in this case meant a completely fabulous neutral base and holographic ombré glitter French. Best part? Gel manis are guaranteed for ten days, so if you chip a nail for any reason they'll fit you in to repair it. Love this spot - I already have my next three appointments lined up! read more

I REALLY like that this is an "American" nail salon. I have no clue of the employees actual backgrounds, however they are all native English speakers. All the girls seem to be Caucasian and ALL speak English perfectly! The prices are a lot more than most nail salons but I find it worth it. Why? Because typical Asian owned nail salons always have so many problems. Mia Sorella really cares about its customers! They CLEARLY define prices, no hidden fees. All the tools & polishes are clean. I've been to so many places where they "water down" colors or add alcohol to the polish to use every last drop, which makes it chip faster and change color. For example, next time u go to an Asian nail salon look at two bottles of the exact same color & brand. They will usually differ slightly in color because they have added something inside the bottle or it's incredibly old polish. I always swore by Asian salons because the prices were so great but after another bad experience I'm just done. I really hate paying more but I can't get over the fact that I'm now surrounded by people who respect me, speak my language, don't yell across the salon, have clean & uncontaminated products and don't change the price last minute. This is a fabulous nail salon and I recommend it to all who can afford it. I love that they do nails and nails only, perfecting their craft and not adding on random services just to make a buck, (like SO many nail salons do). I'm not sure if I can afford to come here every two weeks (I WISH) but this is definitely my new place. They have CND and OPI polishes, gel and regular. It's a very small shop, kind of kitschy style with all women employees. It kind of has that old fashioned hair salon vibe where women just sit around and talk about women stuff. :) The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I believe it could use a modern makeover. It's definitely not as clean & pristine as it could be. And, Elise did my design well but not absolutely perfect like the photo I showed her. All in all I will absolutely return and I'll probably just be a tad more picky with my nail design and have them perfect it if it's not to my liking. Let me start of by saying, I do _love_ this salon. It's cute, quaint, and very much the salon version of Cheers. I like the girls, and the steady stream of customers that comes through the door. I have no issue _except_ that all three of their beautiful pedicure chairs seems to be in some state of disrepair currently. Jets don't function on any of the three basins. And the chair massage/heat doesn't work on at least two. I normally don't leave a bad review, but, to me, that's a large part of a $50 spa pedi experience. I did inquire with the girls if the owner was going to fix this any time soon (the last pedi I had was back in September when the chair I was in didn't work then either) and they said that the the manufacturer has gone out of business, so maintenance is an issue...and that new chairs are quite expensive. I try not to be judgmental, but...c'mon. This is your business. That being said, all other parts of the pedicure were thorough and relaxing. My feet feel great. But...But...I really like the bubbles and the chair. I _want_ to have this be My Salon, but I'll be going elsewhere until they fix those chairs. Update: 08212015 New chairs obtained! I didn't even have the opportunity to get my nails done here, because of the ineptness of the team. I had an appointment set for 5 pm. When I realized I was going to be late because I was held up at work, I called promptly to let them know. When they asked what time, I gave them them my ETA based on my GPS. Once I got closer, about 15 minutes away, I called again because my ETA had changed, and I wanted to update them to be courteous of the fact that I was running late. I called again and they said I should be fine. I told them I would be arriving at 5:30. The woman on the phone said "do you have shellac on your nails?" I replied, "no." She said as long as I didn't have polish on my nails, I should be fine, and if I arrived by 5:30 I would be okay. Now this is the kicker: I called AGAIN as I was pulling up because there are maybe 5 spots to park in front, with a busy street running parallel, and I couldn't find a place to park. So I called and said "yes, hi, I have arrived, but there are no spaces to park." The woman said to park across the street and I would be ok. I HEARD a woman in the background ask who it was and the woman on the phone say my name. Then she confirmed I park across the street. So, I did. I walked across the street and into the shop, and literally as I walked in, the woman says "I think we're going to have to reschedule you." Are you serious? I gave you THREE CHANCES to tell me that on the phone, including the time I was JUST ON THE PHONE with you. And you told me to park? And come in? Just so you can tell me to walk back out? I understand you have other appointments, but do not tell me to come 30 minutes out of my way to get a manicure, after I've updated you on my ETA 3 separate times, just to tell me you can't take me. I walked out and will never go back. The place was small and the location was $#itty. I went to a nail place down the road called Classic Nails and they took me right away, did an AMAZING JOB (I'm very particular about my nails and this woman knocked it out of the park) and charged less for the whole thing.
