It's sad to feel regret looking at something that is supposed to make me feel love and happiness. Its been 5 years since I had my original engagement ring, upgraded it with their program since my husband couldn't choose the diamond he wanted originally (that's a whole different problem), had it remade TWICE because quality was awful, and I had my wedding band for less than 1.5 years until I had to replace it with a similar band from a different jeweler because TWO diamonds fell out and the band cracked TWICE. A diamond in the newest engagement ring on the band SHATTERED. How does a diamond, shatter?? When I took it into the jeweler I had my new wedding band made I asked them to look at that specific diamond because to me it looked off... they were hopeful that is was just dirt, but they came back and notified me that it was indeed shattered and they replaced it with a new diamond. Long term - quality is absolute crap. Customer service is cold. If we could go back in time, we would save ourselves the money, the time, and the heartache. ***After reading previous reviews from posting: agreed with the note to look at how they respond to complaints. I got the Julia theee stone engagement ring in 2019. I'm sending a review now because it's just obvious my ring is fake . I did a radiant cut and of course it's a gorgeous ring but could be better . I bought the diamond hybrid and The middle looks dull . Even after cleaning it , it looks weird in the middle and not at all radiant In addition the gold is completely off - compared to my other real gold rings it's so LIGHT and the color does not match up, it looks and feels like a toy ring . A $1500 toy ring - so I'm not sure how this business operates but definitely down marketing scams going on. read more

Several weeks went by and I called for an update. After a few back and forth conversations they acknowledged that the ring was stuck in customs. I'm a bit confused why customs was needed since they advertise that they "proudly handcraft all fine jewelry within the United States using the finest recycled precious metals and conflict-free Lab-Grown Diamonds and Gemstones." The last update we received was that they weren't sure when we'd get it but it shouldn't be too much longer. We ended up cancelling since it's been over a month to get an item that their site continues to show as being ready to ship as early as tomorrow. read more

I stood there and asked if she needed payment today. I literally could have just said a name and walked out. Your jewelry is not safe here. Horrible operation. ***Diamond Hybrid buyers BEWARE!!!!*** Let me start by saying this- I did my research! And, even after asking every possible question, watching countless videos, IG pics and reading reviews, did I find that the diamond hybrid is NOT a good diamond alternative for the money. NOT AT ALL! It's so incredibly soft, many jewelers I met with after my purchase compared it to a lab created white sapphire aka "cruise jewelry" due to its near identical look and hardness. Funny thing is that these stones are like $100-200 and are typically set in silver. Super cheap. After only having my ring for less than 3 weeks, did I notice a chip, which is why I ended up in a jewelry store to look under the scope. While under the scope, another thing was made known to me and questioned by the jeweler- the stone on my oval 2.5 ct was cut like a gemstone, not a diamond, and certainly not brilliant cut!!! Hence, why the stone lacked the brilliance I expected from what is skillfully advertised as a stone grown from a partial of a diamond. Being that I was still within the 30 day return, I did just that. HOWEVER, because I removed the tags, promptly after unboxing the ring, the return policy was null and void. Wow! Thankfully MiaDonna agreed to refund the stone after I threw a fit and it was clear that the stone chipped far too soon. This was much appreciated. Please note that if you buy from this company, DO NOT REMOVE THE TAGS!!! RECOMMENDATION: Buy a crushed ice or diamond cut moissanite for the same money or plunk down the cash and shop around for a quality lab created diamond. I was disappointed in the sales team as they sold me a white gold ring which for the uninitiated (young first-time ring buyers like myself) means you have to repolish the ring with a new layer every six months. (My wife needed it after 6 months of regular use. She has a desk job and only has to wash her hands a 2-5 times a day.) This is a $35 dollar fee which will add up over time if I keep returning the ring to be repolished. In addition to this, they failed to mention an accompanying wedding band which I had to later buy and miss out on the 10% discount of buying both at the same time. They claimed the wedding band for my ring came out later, but that doesn't pass the sniff test. As for the ring itself, it doesn't look the best and is smaller in size. All MiaDonna buyers are probably overpaying. I think other reviewers are correct in saying this is a big scam. I would recommend going elsewhere. read more

This was probably one of the worst purchasing experiences that I've ever had. In the course of my engagement ring journey I've worked with a bunch of different jewelers and businesses and the contrast is startling. It set back my wedding planning more than month and tremendous stress give the amount of $ in play. Not to mention scheduled and rescheduling of planned events. I would give it negative stars if possible. Avoid like the plague I had to ask 7 times for an ETA on resizing a ring over the course of 3 weeks before I got an answer. Then when they couldn't deliver in the required time I had to ask more than 3 times for a refund after which they insisted on charging a $30 shipping fee. Extremely shady and in my estimation very poor integrity. I'm sure this review will get a long winded, gas lighting, blame-shifting response. My rating is derived primarily from the return policy and returns process. I was looking for a blue sapphire to use in an engagement ring and was shocked by how expensive natural sapphires cost so I was looking to alternatives when I stumbled upon MiaDonna. I liked the lab fabricated sapphires for their lower cost and lesser impact on the environment so I thought I would give it a try. When I received my blue sapphire in the mail, I looked at it and was really disappointed with the color. It was practically a black rock when looking straight at it and only shown blue when rotating through specific angles to reflect the light. I told MiaDonna I wanted to return the product and they promptly issued a return document and return number. Then this is where things took a downward turn. They only allow one return per customer and they don't pay the freight or insurance. These are a cost to the customer. So I sent my rock back on fedex to the address specified and somehow it ended up getting delivered to a neighboring suite in the same building. MiaDonna claims to have never received the gemstone and will not issue a refund so I'm out my cash. My suggestion is to skip the perceived savings of this company and buy from a natural gemstone company who pays for the freight and insurance and makes a return process seamless and easy for the customer. read more

I am absolutely shocked by all of the poor reviews on here. My experience with MiaDonna has been nothing but great. We got my engagement ring from them back in Summer 2020. We went with a lab grown diamond and it was absolutely stunning, I get so many compliments on it. My fiancé said the sales process was really low pressure and they helped him pick out the perfect diamond and setting. Just over a week ago my ring managed to get caught on a metal loop on my dogs collar, he jumped off my lap and ran. White gold being a soft metal and my dog being a muscly strong boy the halo holding the stone broke clean off the band. I called MiaDonna when they opened that morning and they answered right away. I was able to drop my ring off that morning to get it looked at, this was over the weekend so the next Monday they had it sent off for repairs and by Friday the ring was back in my hands and the repairs were done at an incredible price. Back in June, my fiancé (boyfriend then :)) were in Portland for the weekend, we stopped into MiDonna and Justine helped us. She was wonderful, she was extremely knowledgeable on the product and confident in selling. I was impressed when I tried on rings and she knew my size, just by slipping the example off my knuckle. She has great client service skills and was very patient with me (I pretty much tired on everything haha) my boyfriend had a super bad experience at Shane and Co., last fall and that really put a bad taste in his mouth about ring shopping and the whole ordeal. But Justine, eased that for him. When we went back home to Denver, Justine was helping him and making recommendations and found the best diamond. It shipped here and he said he was SO happy with it and the experience with Justine and I am too!! We bought the engagement ring in the Portland store and were pleased for the first year. The stone stayed in fine shape, but my prongs broke and when I brought it in to be repaired at a local jeweler, the gold cracked. I was told the ring was mostly sauter rather than gold so it had to be replaced. So far I've been pleased with the diamond but I wish the company had a better warranty since we were told the band isn't covered, only the diamond. read more

Ugh. I really wanted to like this company...but... They completely ruined my husband and I's ring buying experience. This is a long review, but please read, I am not a ranting customer, all of this truly happened. They sent my husband the ring he ordered with a band that was 25% percent smaller than what was advertised online- 25%. At first, they tried to claim that it was a "slight variation" due to the handcrafted nature of the ring. I understand a little variation because it is hand-crafted, but 25%?! We took the ring to a jeweler who measured it, and I suggest if you have bought or do buy jewelry from MiaDonna HAVE IT CHECKED OUT if you have any doubts. We contacted the company and they said I could keep the ring for now and send it back after the wedding. Problem is, I was so worried about messing up the ring I didn't wear it. Side note that our engagement and wedding were very quick, because my mom was terminally ill. Our engagement lasted 2 weeks and I did not get to wear my ring. We had our wedding and we promptly returned the ring, well wanted to, but didn't want to pay the return shipping they were asking us to pay. (We were sending back a second ring to be resized in the same box, to be eco-friendly). After a lot of back-and-forth MiaDonna finally said they would pay to have the order THEY messed up on shipped back for them to fix. It took them about a month to complete my correct ring and resize my husband's and when it was complete, they sent me an invoice. For return shipping. Are you kidding me? We bought a total of 3 rings from this company, spending thousands of dollars, and they were asking us to pay to have my correct ring I ordered, plus one ring in the same box, sent back to us?! They claimed that they cannot afford to pay the shipping on all "repairs" (not mistakes!) because they give 10% of their profits to charity. What do they do with the other 90% of their profits? We are not rich; we are city workers from Chicago. It would have cost us over $50 to ship the ring back. So after more back-and-forth, they agreed to ship us our rings. My "corrected" ring arrived, and again, it was noticeably smaller then advertised and what the home try-on ring looked like. I contacted MiaDonna again, and they claimed that they measured it 3 times and my wedding ring it was stacked with must have been "too big" (it was not, we had it measured), but we would be allowed to return it. Again, we took it to a local jeweler and it measured more than 10% smaller. I sent the photos proving this and only then did they send me a return shipping label. They claimed that they measured it 3 times, but that "calipers differ". So, if your workshop's calipers are more than 10% off, what does that mean for everyone else's jewelry? Now, 2 months after my wedding, I have gotten a refund and will have to start the ring-buying process somewhere else. Because of this whole fiasco, my mom passed away before ever getting to see my actual engagement ring, I feel like that is the worst part of all of this. Do yourself a favor, lots of other places sell lab diamonds and recycled metals, go there. These people claim to care so much about the people that their non-profits help, but what about the hard-working people that buy their jewelry? read more

Update! I got my 10-year anniversary ring last December. Sort of a "Christmaversary" present. I went with the Pearl in two-tone rose and white gold. I originally wanted a full carat, but my fingers are so small I decided on .75 (for reference, my ring finger is a size 3). This ring is so divine that it's divoon. There is so much sparkle in the stone that I'm dazzled every time I'm in a bright light. My mom calls it a princess ring. The fact that it's conflict-free + recycled stones puts a whole warm fuzzy wrapping on the gorgeousness of the piece. Don't let any preconceived notions about the "realness" of the diamonds discourage you from looking at these rings. The website is dreamy, but nothing like seeing them with your own eyes in the showroom! And each one is made to order, so you're getting a one of a kind piece. read more

Would NEVER recommend this company. Purchased a wedding band. 3 months after I got my ring the prongs came loose and I lost a diamond. Sent to get repaired. Shipping and fixing the ring cost $100. Miadonna wouldn't cover any of the damage despite it happening only 3 months into me wearing it. What was even more appalling as that they justified the damage to over wearing. Saying that damage can happen while you sleep!! I sucked it up and paid. Yet it happened again. Again 3 months after I got the repaired ring!!! I was so discouraged that I haven't sent it back to them to get repaired. If this is a test to their quality than its horrible! This is my wedding band! I should be able to wear it all the time. I work in an office. I certainly don't over use. Let's talk numbers. If i intend to wear my wedding band for the rest of my life. I'm 30. If I live to be 70. That's 40 years. Damages happen every 3 months. That's sending it for repair 4 times a year. $100 each time. $400 each yeah. That's a whopping $16000 extra I'll have to pay just to be able to wear my wedding band. Bought a 1 carat Diamond Hybrid from them about 3 years ago. The top of the stone is scratched and chipped. I took very good care of the set only wearing it when I went out of the house. The rest of the time it was in it's box in my safe. I am very disappointed they want to charge me for a replacement to what I feel is an inferior product. Decided to go with Moissanite. Does Not Stand the Test of Time My husband bought the single solitaire 1.25 carat Diamond Simulant to propose to me back in 2015- we were in college, so it was the best he could afford. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and looked so real, glittered like any girl wants a new engagement ring to look... and exactly what we needed in that season of engagement. However, it has not stood the test of time. I take the ring off to shower, workout etc. but normal day to day use has caused wear-and-tear/scratches that are visible to the naked eye. Still pretty, but having talked to my local jeweler that has been in the business for 40 years, he told me that a $40 cubic zirconia would be a replacement that looks the same, without the scratches- not what you want to hear about your engagement ring stone! Having done the research, I know that the simulant diamond stone is not as hard so it will wear, but a bummer to pay so much for a look alike, when a cubic zirconia would do the same thing for a fraction of the price. Additionally, the center stone recently came loose so we sent it in for repairs. After paying $30 each way to ship and the cost for repairs, including polishing and re-engraving (Another fee), the ring was returned to use still loose! They paid for us to ship it back, only to charge us again for another repair (that should have been done the first time), and charge us for return shipping (despite having paid for it the first time when it should have been fixed). While the customer service has been very responsive and helpful, they nickle-and-dime you for every shipping charge and repair, even when it was not fixed the first time we paid. In the meantime, I have ordered a $20 ring on Amazon that has looked exactly the same... All of this to be said, I do love my ring, and I know it's what my husband could afford when he proposed. However, if you are looking for something that will stand the test of time, and not cause you frustration when you inevitably have to get it repaired, then this is not the ring for you! My now fiancé wanted just a solitaire while I wanted something more, something with an antique look. So Linley helped me pair the solitaire ring up with a rose gold band. This company is a major scam. I bought a "Princess Cut Hybrid" ring set in a solitaire setting, the band is platinum. The ring was bought by my fiance in December of 2016 and he proposed March 2017. The price was $1796.00 for the ring and a lifetime warranty. Break Down of the ring: $716 for the Hybrid Stone 2.00 Carat Princess Cut $0 Prong Head $1,080.00 Solitaire Band I had been having issues with the setting getting loose in January 2018 and I was concerned so I sent it in to the company for tightening. One month after getting the ring back it became loose again. We sent it back and it turns out the stone was chipped and the setting was loose again. I noticed in the first few days of having the ring on my finger, the stone seemed to be dirty on the side. I repeatedly cleaned it and tried to check it. It turns out, what I thought was dirt was the chip. It is now 1 month after getting this new stone set and on my finger and the setting is once again loose. I recently brought it into a local reputable jeweler. There were many flaws with this ring. First of all when the Master Jeweler, who is also the owner of the shop looked at it he noticed the head (prongs) were the cheapest option, and would not work to set this very large stone in. He showed me it was paper thin, and the prongs caved in. He explained that with how large the stone was the platinum was too soft and too thin to hold it tight enough. If I kept getting it tightened  it would keep getting loose. He recommended I replace the head with white gold. He then went on to say that what I thought was a Hybrid stone (online Miadonna claims it has the hardness of a Sapphire stone) is actually softer than a cubic zirconia, and the stone isn't worth any more than $15. He actually quoted that exact stone at $15. He showed me on the machine used to test stones hardness and it barely bounced off the front line where CZ is. He then proceeded to show me a Sapphire, Ruby, and diamond. All of his stones were in the accurate location on the machine and he showed me mine again and once again was at the bottom of the scale under CZ. The last point I would like to make is this stone is advertised as a Princess cut stone, I was shown a real Princess cut stone and this is FAR from a Princess cut. The table on top of the stone is not proportioned and cut to a Princess cut. We were charged a total of $771 for a $15 stone! I paid $1851 for a ring that is worth close to nothing. The worst part of all of this, the customer service continued to blame me for my ring having issues, when they know that this is a fake advertisement! She knew that it was a $15 stone. I am beyond angered, and embarrassed for falling for this scam. We were overcharged and misled. Another sign is the woman responding to all of our messages knows absolutely NOTHING about jewelry. I bought platinum specifically for how it ages. She is claiming I damaged the band and that there are "chunks" taken out of the band. Anyone who knows metallurgy knows that when platinum looks the way it did, it means it is aging not that chunks we're taken out if it, the metal just gets displaced. The displacement of the metal makes it appear to be faded and worn. That is why people buy platinum. They polished the band without me asking and I have to start over on the aging process! It makes it more difficult to level out the fading in the band if it keeps getting polished. Also, platinum is a soft metal, THAT is why the prongs on the head of the stone are getting soft and bending. I am not too rough with it, they are just trying to cover themselves from a lawsuit that is coming their way if they don't own up to ripping everyone off. Every time I make a complaint with this company they get VERY defensive and say the same lies that are on their website instead of looking at the facts that our stone is no more than CUBIC ZIRCONIA!!! I have proof to all of this information, they have nothing to prove other than some certificate that could easily be printed. This is NOT a hybrid stone. If I wanted a $15 stone, I would have bought one for $15 not $1796!! We want our money back so we can proceed to purchase a more reputable stone and ring, but they won't even listen to us. They are claiming their liea are facts when we have physical proof. This ring is a symbol of starting my life with my husband, I don't want to be reminded of a scam with this fake ring. The box and bag they sent us is probably worth more than the product itself. Please do not purchase with this company!! So you don't end up like us almost $2k out of pocket having to buy another ring to replace a $15 because the company is too stubborn to admit they've been caught. They are a major scam!! read more

Made an appointment here eight weeks in advance. Came in with my fiancé, and had to ask to sit down. The salesperson was nice but very inexperienced, and had only been there a matter of a couple of weeks. We were shown a number of rings, and were told the ring my fiancé wanted to see was " on loan" to someone else to try out , and that if we gave our name we could ask to be notified. We wanted to discuss custom design, and were told the person who was the custom design person was not in the store, and that we would need to schedule a time to come back. We wanted to get a conflict free diamond, and were interest in lab created diamonds. Lab created diamonds , we found out , are just as expensive as mined diamonds. We went to another jeweler who had the correct design, and had the ring set in two days. Maybe this was an "off" day for them , but I was very unimpressed. read more

Stopped in to look around (made an appointment) and was very impressed by the knowledge, quality, and vibe. The person guiding my process was Linley and I'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for honest and helpful service as well as no pressure whatsoever. Typical jewelers are so incredibly high pressure that I pretty much loathe looking at sparkly things, always. Not a problem here. It felt like you were stopping by an old friend's who happened to have a crazy amount of jewels. I wasn't asked to set my things down, I just did immediately before she had a chance. I wasn't asked to sit down, I did when I was ready as I was doing things at my pace with her guidance. I have zero problem with this and appreciated it because I felt at ease to do what I needed without any rush or any let's sit down now while I try and sell you something feel. I also hate when other jewelers would offer you biased opinions, Linley was the opposite and very hassle free in her approach and her offering of knowledge. If you're in the Portland area I highly recommend setting up an appointment whether you're looking for wedding/engagement/anniversary/Christmas/birthday/or just because gifts.
