The place is very simple. I would say it's more of a take out place. The food is delicious and the price is not bad for the quality of food. The lamb biryani was delicious and the meat was tender. The hostess was pleasant and she greeted us immediately when we walked in. Our food was ready in 30mins and was piping hot when we picked it up. Zero Star! Avoid Avoid Avoid! One of the worst restaurants! Photos on the website are flashy and misleading. I am a foodie, especially a Bengali cuisine enthusiast. I understand Bengali, Bangladeshi authentic food really well being a foodie. I made sure that I asked if they have any item that is authentic Bengali taste rather than just Indian taste since the owner and cook is from Bangladesh. After confirming with the owner, we (2 of us) ordered Hilsha Jhul ('Ilish macher jhol') and Laau Chingri. Hilsha Jhul $29.99 (One piece hilsha, half potato, gravy): A small bowl with one piece of Hilsha fish with half of the potato in gravy ('jhol') was served. The potato was overcooked and unpeeled. The fish was undercooked with the raw smell of the fish. The Fish had eggs with it which was almost uncooked. Overall this was very disappointing. On top of that, it was $29.99. This felt very wrong. This dish is worth not more than $10 maximum. Laau chingri $22.99 (7-8 small pieces of winter melon, 6 pieces of small sized shrimp with tail on): Mediocre taste. The shrimp (chingri) were the ones that are cheap and low quality that you get from Walmart. In what justification this was $22.99, I still do not know!!! It is worth $5. We paid $60.87 for one Hilsha Jhul, one laau chingri, one bottled water - This is absolutely insane!! Wait time: we waited about 30-35 minutes for the most expensive and the worst Bengali cuisine that we ever had in this world. Ambient: Really disappointing! We two were the only people there. We saw some people taking take-outs. In discussion, we learned that their main customers are the visitors from out of Miami, mostly Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, and American. I guess like us, none of the local people will ever come back here. And the visitors who were disappointed by them in the past will not show up again. If you can avoid this place, please do so! They have Halal meat and other frozen goods, a good selection of Indian spice mixes and other ingredients. The lady working the counter was extremely nice, and the order was ready on time. We had the Samosas, Chicken Biryani, and Lamb Vindaloo. All were really delicious, and the entree portions were very generous: two people could easily split one of the entrees, especially with an appetizer and/or some naan. If you like your food spicy, let them know to make it spicy for you. They seem to err on the side of caution with spice level. Up to now, Bombay Darbar undeniably held the title of best Indian food in Miami and while that still remains the top spot to dine in, Miami Halal is now it for take-out and portion-size while still maintaining fantastic authentic flavors and a large variety of options on the menu. The garlic naan bread was plentiful, easy to break, and came with a great diced tomato side and sauce. The vegetable samosas (2 for an order) were perfection with a green dipping sauce. Fresh flavors, flaky but stayed together with each bite. The lamb vindaloo I requested to be very spicy, which usually comes very very spicy. It was so so good with basmati rice. The amount of potatoes and lamb was generous and using the naan to scoop up the saucy lamb morcels made me feel like royalty. I wish I could give ZERO rating! This is one of the worst places I have eaten - shockingly one of the most expensive places I have eaten (expensive meant with respect to the amount and quality of the food). We were looking for Bangladeshi food near Miami and we looked into their menu which showed few Bangladeshi items. I called them up to check and they said that they have Bangladeshi food. My wife and I drove an hour to go to this place, ordered the two items which were Bangladeshi - Lau Chingree (Gourd Shrimp) and Hilsha Jull (Hilsha Fish Curry). Each of them were super expensive - Lau Chingree with $23 and Hilsha $30. We were excitedly waiting for the food for over half an hour - we were so excited that we didn't mind the expense - it's rarely we get Bangladeshi restaurants around. When the food came, we were super shocked and mostly super-sad. In the shrimp item - there were four shrimps - possibly the ones found in walmart packet (medium raw ones). The hilsha was more shocking - only one piece of hilsha fish. I have eaten in other places in DC/NYC/Buffalo - where you can get a hilsha fish curry for $9-10 - here it's $30. We couldn't believe our eyes. The total amount of food was not even good for 2 people and for ridiculous $60. Coming to the taste of the food - my wife (and even I) can cook much better versions of these two items - we cook them at our home. But sometimes, you want to eat them outside. The gourd shrimp was bland without any real taste - also because the shrimp is not even fresh - there was no real taste. The Hilsha fish was the worst - it was undercooked with fish smell inside. And the gravy/curry came with a half potato - in my entire life I never had or heard of Hilsha with Potato - potato is not something that goes with Hilsha. We were very upset but were more sad and wanted to leave the place as soon as possible. I am never going back (1000 times no) and million times NO to anyone who wants to taste Bangladeshi/Indian food. They are running a scam. When we asked how many people come they mentioned that only majorly indian/bangladeshi/pakistani visitors/tourists come. That means most people (indian/bangladeshi/pakistani) who live in Miami don't come here, because this place is crap. Mulligatawany soup was creamy, serves 1. Lamb vindaloo had good spice and flavor. Serves 2 or 1 hungry person. Begun Bharta was spicy but good. Serves 2 or 1 hungry person. I am unsure if they spice their meals by intensity per customer request (ex. low, med, high, etc..) as I forgot to mention and it didn't come up when placing the order. Amazing biryani! To the point it better than my mother's biryani. Miami Halal Mart has the best biryani in South Florida. I took my uncle and aunt and they loved it. After eating the food here This has to be my new favorite spot. The area was clean, the food was appealing to look at , it smelled very nice and most important tasted delicious.
