Beautiful space. You get a bindi upon seating which is a cute touch. At the end of the meal, I used the bathroom and that's when they brought out the dish to wash your hands so it was a bit disappointing they didn't wait for everyone at the table to have that done. Was super empty on a Saturday at 9 PM. Pricing is a bit expensive since the dishes don't come with rice and that would be extra. But not insanely high. Mango lassi was a nice thick smoothie. Samosas delicious. Butter chicken and first lamb dish on menu also very good, chicken was better than the lamb. I'd go with medium spicy. The plain naan was nice and buttery. Before walking in you start to smell the spices and your mouth starts to salivate. Even the decor outside of the restaurant is picture worthy. We were greeted by the hostess at the door who was dressed in a traditional saree. Once seated she brought us waters and a Bindi for my mom and me. It took some time before our server came to take our order but in the meantime we had a mini photoshoot on the stairs. This place is beautiful. Of course we ordered tika masala , spicy naan, and curry lamb all of this was good. But the best was the masala fries I truly enjoyed those. The drinks were ok and we went for a birthday celebration and they came and sang happy birthday to my mom and brought out a birthday dessert. Ate here for a nice dinner for 2. I enjoyed it, certainly a good place for a date night or even for a nice get together with friends. Food was good, authentic for sure. Portions were on the smaller side in my opinion. Especially as most main dishes are $25+.. Starting with the decor.. it is undeniably stunning. The moment you step inside, it feels as though you've entered a palace. The interiors are opulent, grand, and visually impressive. Unfortunately, the experience ends there. We ordered chicken tikka and Goa chili shrimp, and both were disappointing. The chicken tikka was crumbly and dry instead of soft and juicy, almost like it had been reheated or overcooked. The shrimp dish had no chili at all and was more on the sweet side, which didn't match the name of the dish. For mains, we ordered malai kofta and karahi chicken, but the server took the order wrong and made paneer instead of chicken. What was frustrating is that he realized his mistake when he brought the order. By the time the chicken finally came, we had already finished eating.( we were super tired after the Ocean Drive walking tour). Malai kofta is usually a safe and tasty choice anywhere, but here it was very bland. It tasted more like a boiled, flavorless curry filled with nuts. After waiting so long, we had hopes from the chicken, but that was also a letdown. All we could taste was salt and no flavor. I honestly don't understand how this place has so many good reviews when even the basic dishes didn't taste right. The portions were also quite small for the price. Overall, the meal felt overpriced for the quality and quantity offered. This place appears tailored to an American audience unfamiliar with authentic Indian cuisine. I am an avid traveler and have enjoyed Indian food across New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego, and other major cities and Rishtedar Miami stands out as the most disappointing Indian dining experience I've had. read more

If I'm paying a high price for the meal, please feed me. The entree was served in a small dish and didn't even come with rice or bread (those needed to be purchased separately). We had to go for pizza directly after. Also, I'm a big supporter of auto-gratuity, but setting up the payment screen to ask for a tip with 18, 20, 25% as the recommended options is intentionally deceptive. No one is trying to tip 40%, so that screen should say 2, 5, 10% and mention "additional tip". Pressing "no tip" on a screen that is asking for the full tip amount is embarrassing. read more

By the time we reached the restaurant, we were both hungry. I ordered Goa Machi Curry, a fish curry made with snapper, spices, and more. I ordered medium heat; the spice level was just right for me. She ordered the Mathan Nilgiri, succulant pieces of lamb cooked in a creamy coriander sauce. Hers was mild to her taste. Both were really delicious. We shared on onion naan and a serving of basmati rice. I only wish the rice came with the food, not an extra $8. The atmosphere is delightfully colorful. Service is very good and prompt. read more

This place is honestly one of the worst experiences I've had. The food was disappointing across the board--poor quality, badly prepared, and not worth the price at all. Service was even worse; the staff seemed completely untrained and uninterested in helping customers. The biggest issue, however, is the manager, Maria. Her behavior was extremely unprofessional and rude. She seriously needs to learn how to speak to and treat people with basic respect. Instead of resolving issues, she made the situation worse with her attitude. It's very clear this place does not care about its customers. The LASUNI SAAG MURGH- it's green but don't let that steer you away it's fabulous. The second favorite was the MATHAN JOSH CURRY. We also had a paneer and buttered chicken. Very tasty. As other reviews mention, the portions were quite small in relation to comparably priced restaurants in Miami. Additionally, each of our four main dishes were unfortunately quite bland (Veshnu Masala, Saag Paneer, Kashmiri Pulao, and Dal Tadka). After being welcomed with a Bindi, I recommend grabbing a bite KarmaSutra Mocktail, which is not included in the Miami spice menu, but is a deliciously sweet passionfruit drink that's worth the extra $7/8 bucks Off the prefix menu you can go for either the mix of battered vegetables in the Pacora mix, or a traditional Indian Samosa with potatoes and peas in a crunchy shell. Both are delicious and are served with a smooth or green sauce and a sweet and tangy pineapple ginger sauce. This is one of the worst restaurants in Miami. We had a friend invite her to Indian food and my family. I called the restaurant, and they advised me that Thursday night would be great because of the Bollywood show. We made an appointment for Thursday. I ordered a chicken sandwich from the kids' menu. I ordered Labster for myself. My wife and her friends ordered Lamb sag, naan, and different sauces. The lobster was a piece of rubber and overcooked, and I could not chew it. I ate sauce with Naan. My son's chicken sandwich was frozen breaded chicken; you could feel the ice. My wife and her friends were having Lamb Sag, but this was also a piece of rock because it was old food. Arrived here on Sunday evening with no reservations but we luckily were able to be seated right away (party of 2). I Had never tried an Indian restaurant in Miami so tonight was a first. We ordered 2 portions of plain naan Bread. I got butter chicken with the basmati rice that had fruit in it (forgot the name!) and my partner got the karay murgh tikka masala. We each got our entrees at medium level of spice--next time i go I'll try spicy because i overestimated the kick. Both dishes were equally satisfying, no complaints. For beverages we got mango lassi which was super tasty. I had no room for dessert but next time i want to try the Kulfi. The ambience indoors made you feel like you weren't in the United States, not so "Americanized" restaurant in comparison to others. Two stars are provided for the decor and the potential the tikka masala could have had. The other stars are missing because the food quality, proportions, and service were an utter catastrophe. FYI Even though you order everything at once, all of the food here will arrive at various times, with at least 15 minutes between each plate, A.K.A. TAPAS STYLE. None of the 3 people at our table could ever eat at the same time, and several of the items never even showed up until we asked the waiter about them twice! The proportions are small except the tandoori chicken, which was disgusting and it did not have the flavors it typically should. NAAN: greasy and wet. SAMOSAS: one bite size and straight from Trader Joe's freezer section. SESAME SHRIMP APPETIZER: If three shrimps decided to roll themselves in glue and then roll themselves in a lot of sesame, then what you get is this: A hard shell that breaks away as soon as you bite in, leaving the shrimp naked and embarrassed). This menu item was a pretty idea on paper that should never actually made it to anyone's plate. TANDOORI CHICKEN: Three words of advice from a TC professional: JUST. STAY. AWAY. CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA: Tasteless, dry chunks with zero flavor or salt. The sauce (had potential) was requested spicy, but arrived 100% mild, and when we requested to please revise the sauce to be more spicy, it disappeared into the kitchen for 20 minutes before arriving back to us three shades darker and thickened sauce that had been reduced by 80%. It seems they simply added a pint of hot powders and threw it into the oven only to be forgotten there until we complained about the wait. The spice level at that point was OFF THE CHARTS. I managed to eat it all, despite the chefs obvious attempt at revenge (or achievement at stupidity). BEWARE: The proportions are also quite small here compared to most Indian restaurants. It's not the family-style approach you are accustomed to. Also, they will add 20% tip to your bill even if the waiter sucked and barely spoke English. I keep trying to find an Indian place in Miami other than my favorite one (a far drive), but these amateur wannabes keep disappointing the hell out of me (and my friends who are also on this quest). Either the food is bad or the business execution is backwards. But Rishtedar somehow manages to screw up both.
