When we picked her up, I gave her water and she immediately started drinking it desperately. She didn't even greet us. She was more focused on drinking water than on seeing us, which says a lot about how thirsty she was. That behavior is not normal for her. Runa is not a dog that pants excessively unless she has been running a lot or is extremely tired. She almost never pants, not even when she's happy. That's why it really stood out to me that in every photo I received during her stay, she was constantly panting. At first glance, the dogs may appear "happy," but in reality they seem thirsty. She was there for only 5 days and still came back thinner and extremely thirsty. I can't imagine how uncomfortable that must have been for her , or how other dogs may be feeling if they are not being given proper access to water. I'm writing this with sadness, but also with the hope that this feedback leads to better care and attention to the well-being of the animals left at this place.

Instead, we watched through the live suite camera as our dogs were fed breakfast while there was still feces and what appeared to be urine in their suite. The attached screenshots show the waste remained in the room from 7:43 AM until at least 8:28 AM, and the suite wasn't cleaned until later that morning. Obviously my dogs will not eat if their food is right next to feces or urine. And they did not even send a message of them not touching the food... Feeding dogs in a soiled suite is a basic sanitation issue and completely unacceptable for a facility that markets itself as a luxury pet resort with 24-hour staff and daily housekeeping. We ended the stay early because we no longer felt comfortable leaving our dogs there. Although they refunded the unused nights, no one apologized for what we witnessed. We were even charged for baths, yet our dogs came home still smelling dirty. We paid thousands of dollars expecting exceptional care. Unfortunately, this was not our experience.

He has been very flexible and has helped a lot with her training. This past week he went above and beyond. My parents were dog-sitting when Molly had an allergic reaction to something. They called him and he came right over to take her to the vet and they followed him. This saved valuable time in trying to figure out how to get there as I had only given them the address (Word of advice - draw out a map for dog sitters of where the vet is!). John was very flexible and accommodating to my schedule (as I wasn't sure when I would be leaving and coming back exactly since it was a trip by car). John came to my house to pick Lucy up and also came to drop her off when I returned home. Talk about service! While I was out of town, he texted me a video of Lucy at feeding time along with fun little pictures of her sleeping and lounging around in his house. I wasn't expecting a video and that really made my night! Any time I texted him, he got back to me immediately. I will ABSOLUTELY use the Coconut Grove Dog Walker again to board Lucy. I go to the dog park on Virginia Street in the Grove every day and always see John taking the dogs there, so I know he takes GREAT care of all of his client's dogs. He's very knowledgable about every dog breed and you can tell he truly loves and cares about his client's (and all other) pets.
