Presidio Pines Bed & Breakfast - Exterior of house

buzz and Laurie we…read morejust stayed in this wonderful B and B as a part of my homecoming week. First time back to Oxford in 50 years and this place was really great. The inn keeper, the food and the rooms are all excellent. Lori (innkeeper) even call us to let us know we left some items there and she mailed to our home. we have been to many b and b's and this ranks up with the best

I cannot sing enough praises about Scott, Tari, and their beautiful home. I came to Oxford for a…read moreconference in November at Miami U. I'm a city girl, and I was wary of going to an unfamiliar and very rural area, but as soon as I stepped foot into the bed & breakfast, I felt immediately at home. The first night I got there, it was pouring rain and I couldn't see well. I parked in front of the house and Tari kindly told me I could leave the car there until the morning and she showed me around and made me feel immediately at ease. Tari and Scott actually live off of a little road towards the back of the house, but they are within walking distance of the house and always accessible by phone if you need anything. The house is absolutely stunning and comforting, and it has all the amenities you could possibly need. Tari and Scott take great care of the house. It was always in immaculate condition. The furniture and fixtures are beautiful, and there is a fully stocked kitchen (you can take any of the food for the day free of charge--granola bars, crackers, fruit, deli meats, cheese, baked banana bread, bagels, tea, coffee, juice, soda, bottled water, wine, and more!). I practically ate an entire banana bread loaf that Tari baked during my stay because it was so delicious, and of course Tari and Scott will serve you a yummy breakfast every morning upon request. I had some of the best night's sleep in the room I stayed in too. Each room has its own thermostat and there was a comfy down blanket that I slept with every night for the three nights I was there. My drive to Miami U. each morning was less than 5 minutes, and every time I left the conference, I was excited to go back to the house! Tari and Scott are very kind and personable. They truly care about their guests' comfort and happiness. I highly recommend staying here over a hotel. The rates are comparable, and you get so much more from staying here. If I ever find myself in Oxford again, I will for sure stay here again.

But Jay and Charlotte were very welcoming and made sure our stay was comfortable. The screened in porch was full of toys and games that kept our kids (and us) occupied for hours. In addition to the fresh fruit cups, all the food Charotte and Jay cooked was exceptional- blueberry coffee cake, a breakfast cake that used the similar spices as carrot cake (cant remember the name, but chef's kiss), quiche, and breakfast casserole. And when one of our kids refused to eat anything with fruit in it, they provided him with cheerios! The rooms were spotless, and the beds were super comfortable. We really couldn't have imagined a better place to stay. Thank you!

They even served Eggs Benedict for breakfast at our request. The Nautical room was very spacious with a private bath. Very comfortable bed and luxurious bedding and linens. The Doctor's Inn is just minutes from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. For being in a small town, we found no lack of enjoyable things to occupy our time. Good eateries ... American, Italian, Chinese, Mexican ... no shortage of choices. Remember to check out local events. We found a great show playing at Hall Auditorium on the Miami University campus. Harlem 100 featuring Mwenso & The Shakes on their national tour! Wouldn't have thought that. What an amazing blues and jazz performance. It made for an enjoyable evening you would expect in a large city center, only it was in a beautiful country college town. If you are nature lovers, like us, there are two state parks close by, Hueston Woods and Whitewater at Brookville Lake. Go for a walk and enjoy the scenery. If you are wine lovers, talk to Brian, he'll fill you in and might even share a glass (or two or three) with you. What a great place and gracious hosts.

In the first room, the blow dryer on the wall rattled, had old paint, and didn't work; the air conditioner didn't work properly and was hot all night; and the phone in the room didn't work. The shower in the bathroom leaked, flooding the bathroom. The staff is nice, but was unable to fix the room except by providing a blow dryer. When I came back to my room in the afternoon, they had not serviced the room even though I told them the bathroom flooded--Oh, guess what, they don't service the rooms unless you stay over three nights! They offered to move me and give me a one-night refund. FYI: at checkout, no refund, and when I called back, they offered 10% off the first night-- 2nd room was better. However, I was woken up in the early morning by a hotel fire alarm blasting loudly! Looking at reviews now, this has happened before, so obviously, they have an issue and have not rectified it. The faucet in this bathroom sprays back onto the counter, making a mess. Just seems that there is a lot of neglect in keeping this property up to par. Would not recommend this property.

The person who took our reservation made a mistake and booked us on the wrong day so when we got there we had no room. To make matters worse they changed us a no show fee. When we tried to get this fixed we were told we have to go through choice hotels. We called choice hotels, they did an investigation, they sent us an email admitting the person taking the reservation messed up, but to get a refund on our credit card we had to call the hotel directly. We presented the management with the email and he refused to give us a refund saying they made no mistake.
