I first met Yusef, the owner, thru my boat mechanic. My boat mechanic, Hector, of GL Marine…read moreadvised that Yusef and his staff built a custom trailer for him which was superior to anything else. Well, my trailer, a Continental, broke an axle after 10 years. The Continental that I had was made with galvanized u-bolts which caused the trailer to rust thru the axle and snapped. I took my trailer to Yusef just for some repairs but when he told me what all that was wrong with my trailer (corroded bolts because Continental was built with inferior hardware, leaf springs corroded, bunks needing replacement, etc) that it was going to cost a lil over $1200 to get it the trailer right. I then asked what a new trailer was going to cost? He told me that the cost would be approx $2,800 BUT the new trailer would not only have torsil (sp?) suspension (to reduce maintenance), all stainless steel hardware and would be customized for my boat. I was pleasantly surprised by his price and really wanted to replace the trailer completely because it was never right from the beginning. And the maintenance on the leaf springs every couple of years was expensive! In addition,m my boat was always difficult to get off and on the trailer since I purchased it with the boat. At this point I asked what about my current trailer, what can I do to get rid of it? Yusef replied that IF I wanted to buy a new trailer, he would fix the minimum on my old trailer and I could sell it. I really wasnt excited to sell a trailer that really wasn't quite right nor did I have any idea how to get rid of it. I asked Yusef was there any other options and said that he would take my trailer on trade for a fair price and he would sell it. I was Ecstatic! I then asked, how long would it take? He told me that it would be a couple of weeks but that he would repair my old trailer so that I could continue to use it until my new trailer was built. What a problem solver! He also said that if I did buy a trailer from him, that I could always count on him for assistance should I break down or need help. WOW! After a couple of weeks, Yusef called and stated that he was ready to build my trailer and it would be a couple of days for the build. He called me, I brought my boat and his staff took several hours to custom fit the new trailer to my boat. What a beautiful trailer he built for me. I could not be happier!!!! The entire transaction went extremely smooth and Yusef is a stand up guy. You can really trust him. So a couple of months go by and I have problem with my lights. Of course I thought it was their fault but I had changed my vehicle and the running lights would not work. Blinkers worked and brake lights worked but no running lights. I called him after a day of fishing in miami and told Yusef the problem. He said bring it by immediately (unscheduled) and he would look at it for me. After a quick diagnosis, Yusef discovered that the problem was not with the trailer but my vehicle. He helped me diagnose the problem and showed me how easy it would be to replace a fuse. He wouldnt take a dime for his troubles. I cant tell you how polite and courteous Yusef and his staff treated me. He even gave me a couple of fishing shirts that he had made for his company. Stopped at Hitch King to have an RV propane tank refilled. My tank is a 7.5 gallon tank that…read morealways takes about 7.1 gallons to fill from empty (I've had it filled dozens of times). Propane prices right now range from about $2.80 to $3.20 across the entire US (which I've just driven - filling up along the way), so my tank always costs $20-$23 to fill from empty. The owner walked out to the propane shed, hooked the filler up to my tank, opened the valve, and started filling. (He didn't open the bleed valve on my tank at all - which would show when my tank was getting full.) He kept the doors to the filling station almost closed, and kept his body between me and any view of the meter. I moved aside to try to see the meter, and he moved again to block me. After a couple minutes, he shut off the pump, unhooked the fill hose, and closed the doors - being apparently extra careful to not let me see how much was dispensed. "That's thirty bucks even," he said. "We only take cash." and held out his hand. I handed him $30 cash, which he put into his pocket. No cash registers, no receipt, (and therefore probably no taxes paid.) When I got back home, I confirmed that my tank was about 2/3 full, so I paid $30 cash for about $15 worth of propane. Shaaaady.
