The store layout is very nice and I like that the vintage and reproduction styles are separate as well as eras. I did find some really lovely vintage dresses, but $125 for a cotton day dress is ridiculous. At least it's ridiculous to me as I'm a bargain shopper who can find a similar dress at the flea market for $20. I was dissappointed that the prices were way out of my range. I was a little disappointed with the very limited selection of vintage attire and very disappointed at the high prices. There was too much non-vintage stuff also at very high prices. Hats were between $45 to over $100; granted they were vintage, but still. Yikes! I've been there once or twice many years ago when the selection of vintage was much better and the prices were a lot more reasonable. I ended up going to Goodwill and found exactly what I needed for less than $3. Parking is very limited and the day I went there was one spot opening up at the moment I drove up. The store is in a tiny strip mall directly on busy bird road. Parking head in is simple enough if there is a spot open, but getting out is another story--you pretty much have to wait for the traffic light on 67th avenue turns red and traffic trickles to get out of the strip ball (backing up only). I don't think I'll be going back to Miami Twice. I gave them 3 stars because the place was not too shabby and the mother and daughter working the place the day I went were super friendly. read more

Overall this was a very nice store with very friendly employees. Unfortunately more than half of the store is new items. I was happy to see that they had Pinup style dresses that you can usually only get online, but I was really looking for ACTUAL vintage clothing and items. The store itself has some really interesting and unique clothing, and the girl working the floor was super nice and helpful, but the owner is awful! I was changing in the dressing room, down to just my undergarments, and the owner swung open the door without knocking or asking if anyone was in there, knowing FULL WELL that there are no locks and anyone in there really has no way to protect their privacy! I was startled and yelled, "Excuse me! I'm in here!" To which there was no "I'm so sorry" or "my mistake", but rather a curt "WELL I DIDN'T KNOW ANYONE WAS IN THERE". It's not a big deal to accidentally walk in on someone like that, but the fact that the owner was completely rude and unapologetic about it and then had the AUDACITY to ignore and walk away from my sister as she was trying to purchase a $65 dress is really not okay. I'm not disparaging the business itself, or even the rest of the team, but the owner really sucks so beware. read more

If you have a party or an event coming up and you need clothes from 50's,60's,70's,80,s and even today they have everything that you need and more. They also carry second hand gently used bags, belts,and shoes the owner is always very nice and grateful for your purchase. If you're looking for something different, funky, and not the same outfit that everyone else is wearing this is the place for you. Some of the prices are a little high but it depends on what you're looking for and they also have a clearance rack that's really good priced. It's defiantly a must stop shop if you need a cool outfit and I wouldn't say that they are any more expensive than any of your local boutiques... read more

To be fair, you would need to go through the store twice and appreciate it. I'm really appalled by the prices here. I would have to say the vintage finds are gorgeous, especially the beaded flapper dresses. However, with a price tag of $399 for an antique dress I may only wear once, I will pass. Worse is the budget replacements that retail lesser on amazon and display the lackluster costume quality and still price at $40 or higher. I really don't want to bring this store down because what makes it great are the vintage finds that are sold there. Additionally their curbside marketing is hands down the best one I've ever seen, always. I remember this store had such a stronger vintage following and they hung a lot of their clothes in what looks like a pulley (think dry cleaners) I would have appreciated seeing that more than the wow couture dress I'd probably run into again at Steps NY. I do hope they turn things around and work on a better strategy on the indoor store displays and pricing. I would love to return if I'd see something different. The bonus is they will at times and if your a loyal Miami Twicer do layaway (hellerrrrr new Chanel earrings)! The staff is always super friendly and knowledgable... They have a conveyer belt of decades and decades of clothing eras that they will allow you to shift through. And during Halloween?!?! Forget about it! I have been going there for years and so has my girlfriend. I buy all her birthday, xmas and special occasion presents there. I don't event mind that It's over price because the clothes are interesting and the staff was always nice. My girlfriend bought a dress there a month ago, but due to the injury to her in her leg she still isn't able to wear high heels and this dress only would look good with high heels. So today is her birthday and we went to exchange the dress for store credit. After the owner curtly explained that it says "no refunds" in small print on the receipt she decides to give us a break in the form of $27 dollar store credit for a $54 dress. At this point, my girlfriend is clearly embarrassed and I stick up for her, stating that they will loose not only our frequent business, but all the people we send there over $27 dollars of store credit. The owner rudely begins lecturing me on the process of retail sales and that even tho the dress still had the tags and was never worn, it had been out a month. I tried explaining the process of good customer service and how she would be loosing hundreds, if not thousands in the future if she holds to this shaky policy. Finally, she waves her hands at me and walks away. Rolling her eyes, she grunts, "Fine. Go ahead." So now it's really awkward. My girl is upset and totally embarrassed on her birthday and it would be just weird to shop there at this point. We took the dress and left, telling her to forget it and thanking her for her "hospitality". We then proceeded to go to the shop next door and spend 200 bucks on some clothes from a very nice lady. Miami Twice used to be my favorite shop in the entire world - about 15- 18 years ago. Back then they had ALL vintage items (with a tiny selection of otherwise hard to find new items that appealed to the kind of people who shopped there) and really really great prices. Unfortunately, the store has gradually changed and is now completely different. Most of their vintage clothing is available for rental only and what little is for sale is for the most part almost prohibitively expensive. They do still have a good selection of vintage/antique small goods for decent to great prices - stuff like jewelry, home decor, and toys. The last time I was there I got a great mid-century light for under $20. I long for the Miami Twice of the 90's but I do understand that vintage clothing has raised in price everywhere and is getting harder and harder to find. To make up for the lack in the vintage clothes for sale, they now sell new clothes that are vintage inspired. I do like the new clothes that they have, especially the things that are made by small-scale local designers. The only caveat with their new clothing is that much of it can be found online for A LOT less money. That said, it's a good place to go if you need an amazing dress (and money is not a huge factor) for something and you can't wait for an online order or want to try it on before you buy it. They still have a small collection of great designer vintage clothing and accessories for sale - its too pricey for me but it is beautiful and unlike anything else I've seen in Miami. If I hadn't experienced the older and better Miami Twice, I probably would've given them a higher review (probably 3-4 stars) but it always makes me sad when I go in there and remember how wonderful it used to be. Also, around Halloween they do bring out more of their vintage clothing for sale (it used to be that they'd just mark everything up about 20% so I'd avoid shopping there around that time but now it's one of the only times that they have a pretty decent selection). I've never rented anything from them and I don't know what their pricing is like for that, but I would imagine that you could get one of the most amazing and unique outfits that way - and if I ever have the need to rent a fancy dress, this would be my first stop. All of their rental clothing is up near the ceiling on a motorized rack (like they have at the dry cleaners) so you can't just look through the rental items - you have to have an idea of what you want so they can pull items out for you. I long for the glory days of Miami Twice and I wish that they would make an effort to have more vintage pieces for sale. One other thing is that parking here can be a bit awkward. There's a tiny lot out in front right off of Bird Road, however there is another lot next door where you can park and its a bit easier, especially because the front lot can be full and super easy to miss if you haven't been here before. read more

When I was 15, Miami Twice had $5 bins full of goodies. I've picked up more than my share of workman's shirts and tees. HOW-EVER, something must've happened between 1997 and 1999 because that's when it turned to overpriced, hardly vintage. Selection is only a part of the problem. First off, there's not enough affordable actual vintage. Secondly, most of what is there is replicated on the racks and clearly of "meh" condition. Considering the wealth of new online opportunities for people to shop vintage and vintage-inspired affordably, not to mention the plethora of Urban Outfitters and like stores popping up all over the place, you'd think that Miami Twice would have found a reason to mix it up with styles and price points. I like the idea of a vintage store but I like MORE the idea of antiques, originals, and affordable thrift and consignment. It seems to me that, even according to other reviewers, what's good is the costume element so, for Halloween or for theme parties, perhaps Miami Twice is a good choice if you're willing to dish the cash out for those single special occassion buys. However, for shoppers like me who buy lots and lots and lots of vintage clothes, sites like Etsy are more in-tuned with my needs. Variety of sellers with varieties of styles and price ranges are ideal for the vintage shopper. Sadly, I think a lot of people don't know about real affordable and accessible thrift and vintage. With the Internet nowadays, though, the casual shopper who's into these styles in Miami need not stick to the one good ol' faithful Miami Twice. They get a star for existing when others don't, though, if that means anything. Note: The other day, my friend went in (she's also a vintage shopper with hordes of clothing bought thrift and through visits to various shops in Florida), heard the teen girls working at the store discovering Etsy and Modcloth for the first time. I don't know why I always leave Miami Twice as one of my last resorts for my Halloween costume shopping because I always end up buying my costume here. Today, I finally found my costume and so did my BF. The girls who work there are very nice and extremely helpful. Although the prices are a bit high (my costume was $60 there and $50 on partycity.com), the store always has a great variety of costumes for both men and women. One thing I noticed is that the store has a good number of larger men's costumes for more broad and muscular men. read more

I finally went in on a regular day and I was shocked at this store. The prices are REALLY expensive and the brands are things you find at Ross for a quarter of the price. Some of the store is actually vintage, but those items are hundreds of dollars. I wandered in here with my niece who had never been to this store. They have a lot of cool newer items and accessories, some vintage clothing on display, and a large costume area. However a lot of their items are over-priced (both new and vintage). Also, if you are looking for vintage items like dresses, suits, and shoes they seem to only have petite sizes (size 0-4, and small shoe sizes), not very many regular sizes or inseams and definetly no plus sizes at this store. Yeah, because of this I've never been able to find anything at this store :( read more

So expensive, but such a wonderful collection. The owner is awesome and truly a humble character. I have never had issues with customer service here and I always find what I'm looking for. On top of that, everyone that is chosen to work there has an outstandingly creative mind which is really the highlight of the store. It's both a vintage and modern shop and yeah it registers itself under "vintage" and most things are new, but hard to find people that really want to give up the vintage.
