Dr. Toth and his wife (the office manager) always ask about my parents and my grandma and share funny stories about times my family members were at the dentist. I have been petrified by any type of dental procedure since I was little--and have had to have a fair amount of dental work including fillings, caps, broken tooth repair... Dr. Toth is extremely gentle and caring, never rushes you, scares you, makes you feel guilty or leaves you unsure of what is going on. Dr. Toth also knows that my worst fear is getting the Novocaine shot...UGH! Just this past month I had to have a small chip filled to prevent it from becoming a cavity. Dr. Toth remembered how much I hate the shot as said we could try it without the shot to start and then if it became too painful he would give me the shot. Thanks to how gentle and skilled Dr. Toth is...no shot! Best of all, my appointment was at 9:45 and I was out the door by 10:10! I would recommend Dr. Toth and everyone in his office to anyone. Once he reviewed my X-rays and determined I needed a root canal, I scheduled an appt for the following week. The receptionist is very kind and we talked briefly before my appointment. I explained my anxiety and Dr. Mario calmed my fears and was extremely patient. He explained the procedure after I asked what to expect. I was done in an hour. I had zero pain. If I needed another root canal, I would definitely return. FYI: COVID protocols are in place. Sanitizer is readily available at the door, a mask is required as well as a temperature check.

Before the doctor even talked to me, He started to yell about how old the scans I brought in were. ( they were taken less than 6 weeks before- the amount of time it took me to get an appointment) He just got meaner as the appointment went on. I sat and said nothing, because I was so surprised by his demeanor. I was there because my dentist referred me because In the process of getting an implant it was discovered I had some bone loss that needed addressed for the implant to work The treatment plan he suggested was very invasive and costly. I went and had two other consultations elsewhere where I was treated kindly and given other options. The practice I ultimately chose took great care of me .They treated me with compassion, used a much less invasive procedure and less costly treatment plan.

Did you know you can floss your entire dental bridge? The dentist I used to go to put the bridge in and never educated me on how to care for it. He is friendly, but not overly, and he works within your dental coverage. Finally, have you ever had a dental emergency? I did and he returned my call quickly and offered to come in on the weekend to fit my schedule. He also has evening hours. When I made my appointment, they offered to arrange for the exam and possible root canal in the same visit to save me a trip, which I agreed to. I was seen promptly and an x-ray and exam indicated that I did not need the root canal. I was very relieved and appreciative that they didn't perform the procedure when it wasn't necessary. Unfortunately, the way healthcare works often is that doctors get paid per procedure, and they had already scheduled in that time, so there were multiple incentives here to perform the root canal one way or the other. I'm grateful that Dr. Dahlkemper was honest about the fact that I did not need one and sent me home early.

Already have a dental phobia, which the office was supposedly aware of, including this dentist. Along with tooth sensitivity from a separate disorder. This was by the far the worst experience I've ever had in the dentist chair. He was extremely rude - zero bedside manner. Didn't explain anything ahead of time, including interrupting me when I panicked and raised his voice with me enough that it brought me to tears. And snapped even though I was crying. Was not fully numbed and felt the procedure, even though he said I wouldn't. Also told me twice during the numbing portion of it - told me that it was my fault. My fault that I was there. No sedation during or pain killers for after the root canal, either.
