I contacted the office to ask about a baby tooth extraction and thankfully were able to get an appointment within 2 days of the call! SO sad, I think Dr. Mike is amazing but the receptionist is just so awful ... we are deciding to go to a different denist after 8 years. She just always has this tone like anything we ask is bothering her and a problem. I tried to make an appt this morning and she made comments about how long it had been since my previous appts....and then when I asked for a later afternoon time... I was met with well "obviously those are the most requested"... with the tone of there would never- ever be anything- as no times were offered. Then she offered to see another dentist, which I just said my kids have loved seeing Dr. Shannon so if we can keep him that would be great (happy to then schedule our appt out farther if needed- since clearly I haven't been in so long).... To which I got a "right because you won't see the other Dentist" As if I am trying to make things harder or more difficult for her?. Her tone is always so rude and as if we are bothering her to ask her to do her job.. if she hates her job so much she probably should find a new one.....:/. Thanks for 8 years but we will be finding a new Dentist if it means I can be spoken to nicely in the entire leading up process- receptionists are the HUB of the business. We came based of recommendations from other parents who loved this office but unfortunately that wasn't our experience at all. This was our first dentist visit for my toddler and right off the bat the experience felt wrong. When calling to schedule the appointment I felt there was quite a bit of attitude because he was "only one"-but he had a mouth full of teeth that I wanted to check on and make sure we were brushing well. On the day of the appointment the front desk staff barely acknowledged us as we walked in and I'd expected a warmer welcome for being new patients. Wonderful staff and dentist reception, as always!!! We recently returned to Dr. Shannon's practice and got to see that they've moved to another office location. They have their own spacious parking lot. No need for validating parking here, although their staff had always taken care of the parking and it was so kind of them. GPS did take me through the mall parking lot so it confused me at first, but if you're driving by the post office, you're in the right direction. Their building is just below the Mission Viejo Mall/Nordstrom and it's behind a row of smaller series of businesses. I believe there was a sushi restaurant among them. Located on the second floor, the building is very bright and modern. Unbeknownst to me, our appointment was during their lunch hour (12-2) and doors were locked, but when we knocked close to our appointment time, they accommodated and opened for us. They're wonderful and so friendly! Always such a pleasant experience and one less worry about nerves in bringing my son here. He's been a patient since he was two.
