California Code of Civil Procedure - CCP § 430.41 In California, before filing a demurrer, the demurring party must "meet and confer" with the party who filed the challenged pleading. This involves a discussion, either in person or by phone, to attempt to resolve the issue without court intervention. The meet and confer must occur at least five days before the responsive pleading is due. The defendant's attorney lied and said she tried to reach me by phone! The demurrer automatically gave her 30 days more to file her answer to my complaint. I checked my cell phone records for a call from that attorney, and there was no record of a call. I called the attorney and asked her to send me her phone record. She sent me her phone record, and the call was only 4 seconds long! She dialed my number and hung up immediately. She didn't have her answer ready so she lied in order to get 30 more days to respond. She committed perjury, and I charged her with perjury in my complaint! The clerk at the Antelope valley courthouse accidentally filed the limited case at their courthouse. Michael Antonvich in Antelope valley does not handle limited court cases, so the case was transferred to the Spring Street courthouse in Los Angeles. The commissioner that heard the case was not interested in the fact that the attorney committed perjury! My case was against a government agency. When big money government agencies are involved, the lying crooked judges and commissioners will take bribes! I am sure most people have watched Judge Mathis. This is beautiful... new... clean... free parking. I understand that most people come here for not great reasons. I came to visit friends that weren't going to trial so I can say - listen, if you have to go to this courthouse... you have no idea what a hassle it is to go to other courthouses in LA County. This one at least has parking, friendly and helpful staff and a very new, clean facility. I also felt safe there. It's hot as hades there but... that really isn't the courthouse's fault. I want to start off with how easy parking is here. Cafeteria people are so nice, everyone was nice here. I came here because my daughter had court, I thought I was going to receive help for her but the judge and public defender ellis her lame pathetic individual don't take these youth seriously not in my case. She called cps on me with false information because my daughter was never abused nor not wanted, even the cps worker couldn't believe the bullshit she was hearing from Lauren ellis n her team were trying to do instead of helping my daughter and I can't believe the judge allowed it, unprofessional people. Because professionals always find a better outcome, Thankfully she got transfered to east la court which parking is awesome and the team and judge there omy they do care about our kids! I went to pay for a traffic ticket and paid cash, cashier tried to scam me I paid $100 and she put only $50 on receipt. I am glad I caught it before leaving the court! Be careful when paying in cash! read more

Well if you go to file a restraining order do not I repeat do not go in the Am. Go after 1:00pm make sure you eat or have a energy bar and some water. Then if you need stuff filed by LASD have everything filled out with your $40 and the info to where the person is located with booking number if he's incarcerated. And good luck. You might have to back the next day. I got there at 1:30pm the file clerk makes sure you wrote in all ur info. Which can take 2hours and 30 minutes. They will give u your paperwork at 3:55pm. read more

Volunteering here was one of the best experiences of my life! I would do it again. I learned a lot and gained great job experience while helping the community that was so welcoming to me almost three years ago, when I came to live in Lancaster, Ca. I am grateful to everyone there and to Lancaster! It was a pleasure to serve the community. I got to see what makes this town a good place, it's good people! First off.... This is a beautiful building. If you're into that kinda stuff. Nice pics of Mr Antonovich and various Presidents litter the lobby. I guess he has connections. But on to MY experience here today. I'm here to fix a ticket. Gotta fight the man and his arbitrary laws of the road. I can drive as fast as my car can safely allow. It's on the ballot... Vote Yes on Prop 2(Rick's Law) The line stretches at least 30 people deep. As it inches along, it makes the local DMV look like the model of efficiency. Only two clerks working the windows. Great... here goes my day. I had grand plans to lounge, drink, sleep and watch TV. Damn you courthouse!! There's a cute little girl playing with her radio blasting at annoying levels, just having fun as kids do. It's not her fault that I'm hating life right about now. She was a few spaces back, but the tunes filled our area. My nerves and my patience were both in short supply. A girl with a pretty little smile and pigtails blasting Top Billin' and Baby Got Back?? If I was at the club... go for it. But standing in line to fix a ticket? I don't need to be reminded of where I'd like to be, instead of the bureaucratic hell that I'm in. Am I evil for wanting a sinkhole to open up and swallow this child and her radio? So what, I don't care. I'm a misanthrope in my spare time so sue me! If the sinkhole can't come for her, then maybe the child immediately behind me. She obviously confused my leg for a black and white soccer ball. The 3 to 4 kicks to the calf were softened by the fact that she was a sweet little cutie in a lovely red peacoat with black buttons and collar. (Ok too much detail for a straight guy... but I'm fine with that). Parents... Keep your kids under control! I have my own and try to make sure they don't annoy the general populace. You do the same. They can annoy the hell out of me at times, and I try to minimize the damage when I'm in public. Why can't others do the same? Otherwise my portable sinkhole will be making it's rounds! I came here to file for Name Change (filing fee $395!!!). I had to fill out a packet and make two copies. BE AWARE THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE COPY MACHINES so you would have to go somewhere else to make copies and come back. I think there is a copy center few blocks east of the courthouse on AVE M. When you go in, you will have to go thru security like airport where you have to put everything in a box to be scanned while you walk through the metal detector. Once you enter, the clerk desks are to the left. After my copies of paperwork were stamped, the clerk gave it back to me to give to a newspaper company so that they can publish my hearing date. When I got to the newspaper company, they said I'm missing the Judge's name and date. Turns out, the clerk FORGOT to stamp date and the Judge's name on my NC-120.. ARRRGH I am irritated because now I have to drive another 35+miles tomorrow because the clerk forgot to stamp one piece of paper.. The clerk wasn't mean or anything. Perhaps she's new on the job. Hopefully she doesn't make the same mistakes for the sake of others.. But overall, the courthouse was pretty clean with no hassle. read more

I avoid this place at all cost. Every one knows the Antelope Valley is full of corruption by the system that we all have to put our trust to. My brother in law was killed back in 2012. He had court to have someone else appoint him a new conservator because his care takers were abusing and cause his death by starvation, beating him, and many other awful things were done to him. No arrest by the local sheriff, AV hospital return him back to his abusers and the court are all at fault. His lawyer who did nothing and showed it in court in front of a judge who suppose to be in the best interest of the people, did no investigation and spoke with no one just the abusers. The abusers said there was nothing wrong even though AV Hospital had a report and believed them. The judge basically was like ok case closed and for him to remain with his abusers. He passed away in his hot room, on the floor, starved to death, and marks on him being beaten on September 1, 2012. You can see the autopsy report and abused report by searching Micheal Parisio Jr. There's a documentary being done about the case. One of the lawyers here in the AV did an interview and what she said open my eyes to a lot. She said never to show up in court in the AV without a lawyer that YOU hire not an appointed one. One true example.................Father saw mother beaten the son. Father called CPS not a single investigation done. Went to court told the judge and judge said "So what prove it" Mother said " Father a liar father a liar" The judge agreed with mother. Father waiting to receive a call from sheriffs that something happened to his son due to the negligent of the court and CPS. Every time mother and father goes to court because she wants more money and refuses to work she claps and acts weird like she is on drugs. Judge ignores the father and sides the mother on anything she says in court without prove. Father however needs prove on what ever he says. The system is way corrupted out here in the AV and the State is allowing it. read more

Very representative of A.V. the clerks are incompetent on a good day, and the judges?, well first you're guilty, no ifs ands or buts, You WILL NOT GET A FAIR TRIAL HERE. They don't even know their own system. Ask ANY question and you wont get an answer. I was sentenced to five days of community service any had to do 20, their minimum, and was eligible for early probation release after two years. Well, I just found out that the stenographer again an A.V. local (they're not very smart) didn't record it so guess what ANOTHER YEAR OF PROBATION. no American courthouse should be this bad. Michael D. Antonovich should be shamed but he's a politician so he is beaming on a golf course right now scat on him and his courthouse. I give this courthouse ZERO stars. I filed small claims here in this courthouse due to the fact that the person I suing lives here and didn't want to give that person no buts about showing up to court. When the day came to show up and present my case I had all my evidence neatly organized so it can be presentable to the judge and present my case strong. One of my evidence was an original promissory note that I had signed by the defendant of the agreement that was broken by the defendant, the judge didn't honor the promissory note and denied to see my evidence. The Judge was rude and made his judgement on his instead of going to by the truth of the strong evidence I had. Basically made a judgement on my behalf for way less than what was owed to me. This courthouse is joke. I should have filed my case in LA or even to the show Judge Judy which I received a notice from and at least I know she would have at least look at my evidence and honored the promissory note and I would have won my full amount that was owed. If I were you I would try to find out if you can file your claim in LA or have your case heard on Judge Judy since she knows exactly what she doing. This courthouse is corrupt. read more

No line for a traffic court citation payment, in and out in 3 minutes! All time record for me...haha nice place too

This is the absolute most Horrible courthouse I've ever delt with, on October 5, 2017 approximately around 2:50 PM some lady in the traffic department was very rude over the phone, she wouldn't let me speak and kept cutting me off without constantly asking for my case number when I told her I only have my ID number when I was only calling to ask if they had received my traffic school certificate, she then said that my case wasn't with that courthouse it was at the one in Santa Clarita, I again told her that I was only calling to see if they had received my traffic school certificate. then I asked her for her name and she hung up in my face. I then attempted to call back and I surprisingly got her again but I guess she realize my voice and hung up again, so with that being said I would like to speak to a supervisor or if a supervisor is reading she was very rude and totally uncalled for, people like that should not work at the courthouse what so ever, if it's problems that she's having at home then she should jus stay home read more

my visit to the courthouse was as bad as my visit to the dmv. i found out what is wrong with this country: you don't need special skills or college degree in order to work there. i felt like i was dealing with employees from a drive thru fast food restaurant. Does anyone do their job right anymore? I'm stuck with a uncleared traffic violation, that suppose to be cleared last year. My car insurance went up even though I went to traffic school and paid the fees. I called the Courthouse and the clerk said all I needed to do was to go to the DMV and they will clear it. After being at the "zoo", I mean the DMV, they explained to me that it was the Court that should have cleared that ticket. Here I am going to the Courthouse and when its my turn to talk to the clerk, she looked at my certificate signed and stamped by the traffic school and said she couldn't clear that ticket for me, that i needed to go BACK to the DMV!! i showed the proof and i had just come back from there. So she "suggested" to contact the traffic school and have them fax the certificate of completion. Didn't I just handed you the certificate, unless your blind that you can not to see the documentation.It was so obvious she wanted to get me out of the door as soon as possible. I contacted the traffic school who reafirmed what I already knew: they did fax the certificate, it came back as received, and its the Courthouse NOT the dmv whose responsible for clearing a traffic citation....what a day :/ read more
