There dispatch is absolutely horrible. There is a white lady there that takes a lot of the calls and every time I've had to call 911 and get her, she is condescending, she prolongs the calls, she clearly doesn't care to help. You will NOT get the help you need going through this department and especially their dispatch. They are absolutely horrible. I can only pray that these people that think everything is a joke and don't take their jobs seriously, are subjected to the same vial things in life that we are. Your family's as well. Just horrible. There was a man who was trespassing on the property I live at he was literally sitting right outaide my apartment screaming profanities. This post is dedicated to Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick and to law enforcement who risk and lose their lives for us every day.   Also, this post is made with gratitude to the Officer who responded to my family's worried calls and came to my front door to make sure I was okay when my phone was stolen. I came to his police station to report my stolen purse and credit cards, and to deliver my medical records. I wanted them to know, that If I need help in a crisis, chances are I will be incomprehensible.   Further, I came to this station to accept responsibility for misunderstandings. I once collected a little mail for a homeless friend with good intentions. My "good intentions" to help my friend led to confusion I didn't anticipate. When my homeless friend, who was hallucinating, used this mail to have me arrested.  Took me a while to figure out that I started the fire with good intentions investing in the wrong worthy cause, let it be me who tries to put it out.   In honor of doing the right thing for my community I am now investing in a medical alert bracelet so first responders can understand me if I need help.  And I am going to carry a few packs of oatmeal with me at all times because my food allergies can be life threatening in extreme situations. I invested in rainbow-colored, three-ply masks for my neighbors and invitations for a stay-at-home weekend event. I moved my recording studio to east Palmdale, a diverse community, to write and record music representing where I am from.   Not long after I arrived, my song landed in another Kevin Smith movie. The latest in the Chasing Amy, Clerks, Silent Bob line; the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. I postponed watching this movie until I could invite my neighborhood to watch it with me.  This police station included.     I learned a valuable life lesson thanks to those who try to help crazy criminals like me. Not all criminals are bad people. Not all cops are good people but most of them are. Most people are good; I am trying to be a better one. In honor of the people who rescue kidnapped children, and treat us with empathy dignity and respect. It's been a community effort to keep me alive! and the cops wonder why they have such a bad reputation... somebody pulls up in front of my house starts fighting in front of my house as they're driving away they throw a dog out of their car. I called the cops and they told me that it's not their responsibility to respond but I need to call animal control.... They're unwilling to help out the community. The front desk staff/officer is incompetent. I don't say that lightly as I am a retired LEO myself & defend the Blue to the core, but this required a review. First off, I went to file a 653m PC report (annoying/harassing electronic communication) with all supporting documents and a clearly written narrative to help the reporting officer do their job. All criminal elements were present hands down. I know, I have written, investigated, and helped prosecute hundreds of these in a 20+ yr career. In spite of this, the first words out of the mouth of the "Officer" at the desk were "I'm not sure exactly what kind of report that is." Really, one of the most basic and prevalent misdemeanors in LE!? I then knew this was going down hill. OK, took a breath, and explained it to Officer P. like I was his FTO. His response was, "we don't really take those types of reports here...any chance you can just tell the person to stop harassing you? Or, just get a restraining order?" Yoohoo, Officer P., I wouldn't be here if I didn't already advise the PCO (it's in the narrative I gave you...read it) and do you think establishing a statutory crime via a police report is going to improve or diminish my chances of getting a permanent RO if the situation escalates? It's already a borderline 422 PC (criminal threats). Or do you only take 187 PC reports because all the red flags were ignored by LE? If there is a violation based on the submitted documents & statement, take the frigan report!!! If not, provide a reasonable explanation beyond NOT KNOWING OR SAYING YOU DON'T TAKE THOSE TYPES OF REPORTS. Officer P. offered me the opportunity to sit around for 3 hours and wait on a deputy to respond to the station to further evaluate my matter if I chose. Really!? THIS IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT & SUPPORT STAFF. Deferring, redirecting, and basically spending more time kissing off reports than just knocking them out. Imagine, if they are doing this to a retired LEO with extensive patrol and investigative experience, what are they doing to the general public who cannot make a case to them or hold them accountable? This is a LEADERSHIP issue...do better. I went the next day to the SCV Sheriff's Station where they reviewed my documentation and statement and provided me with a case # in under 15 minutes. Granted, the desk deputy also began to discredit the merits of the report until I redirected him to better understand what was at hand. No problem with the reporting deputy. It simply appears to be a LASD culture thing to avoid taking reports or creating fictitious thresholds for straight-up statutory violations. Do better...damn embarrassing. read more

I love that my tax paying dollars are going to good use. My wife got in an accident because some liberal blew a red light. She had to wait over an hour for someone to show up. Ima huge supporter of police but this Palmdale station takes forever to do anything. When I have had to call the cops in Lancaster, they are there writhing 5-10 minutes. Not Palmdale. Too busy....also Had my home alarm go off and I wasn't home. My alarm company contacted me and asked if everything was ok and if they need to alert the sheriffs department. I told them I was at work, which is an hour away from my home, so I said yes. Over an hour passed and still no one showed up. By this time my wife pulled onto our street and checked things out. Thank god it ended up being nothing, just cats setting my alarm off...but over an hour!? And still didn't show up. My wife ended up calling the sheriffs and telling them forget it. But god forbid there was an intruder in the house. He would have had more than enough time to grab everything inside. My cousin had a family matter today and we needed a police escort to get her things. The Palmdale sheriffs got there ( a little later then we had hoped for) but we learned they had another bigger Emergency. I was grateful and impressed with how they resolved the issue and helping my cousin retrieve her items quickly from her previous residence. The entire department seem kinda hit n miss. Sometime you might get someone who actually cares about doing the job or protecting the city, a lot of times not so much. I am very disappointed in the general lack of enforcement of just about every law and city ordinance. Illegal fireworks run rampant, despite being reported. Noise disturbances constantly all over the city, despite being reported. Illegally parked and abandoned vehicles by the dozens, despite being reported. Traffic violations straight out of a bad movie, despite being right next to a squad car. Ridiculously loud and blatantly illegal exhaust on cars everywhere. It's as though they wait until everything escalates to the point of gunfire and murder so they can put on the cape and pump their chest out. It's really quite sad, pathetic really. Palmdale has the potential to be a great place to live, but it can't live up to that potential if we let everyone just do whatever. We have so many laws and regulations and ordinances, and the majority of them never get enforced. That is, unless that particular enforcement can be used as leverage to another agenda (from the horse's mouth). I used to have such respect and appreciation for our Sheriff's Department. She sought out answers if she didn't know and she genuinely heard me. With all the information I was given I'm a lot more confident with what I need to do. It's just a regular sheriff station. Nothing special about the building. Was looking for an address and used the phone on the wall (front desk) was empty. No help, but then a deputy was walking by in the hallway and I asked her for help. She was awesome!! Totally went out of her way to help me find a plot of land I purchased out there. Sad to say we moved here to palmdale 2months ago and around 3 a.m this morning I noticed a car sitting in front of our elderly bed ritten neighbors home with a white male inside. We called the police to do a well fare check because she has no lights on and we where told after the 3rd call over an hour and a half later they had no available officers. Where we came from the community was looked after by the police especially the elderly. God bless America. At least I have a camera system read more

I hate to say it but I don't want trust these people at all. I've been pulled over plenty of time for no reason but 90% of the time they pull their guns out on me. I think I have PTSD due to them I freak out every single time I see a cop. Imagine getting pulled over for no reason on your way to work at 19 years old, and they have guns drawn. They don't find anything on you and your not pulled over for any traffic violations. And you asked why you were stopped and they say "don't make me find something in there, I suggest you Get going". Once I went to complain about a odd guy stalking my wife and they don't do anything, but you say, if he come by again and I shoot him, then what? They have no answer, they actually said "well, these cameras are always rolling, so we have proof". I totally lost faith when I got pulled over again for no reason, and they said I "look bad". While in the back of the cop car and his partner destroying my car, I had a conversation with the guy running my license, and realized most of them are highly uneducated. Once he realized we both were collage grads, and have jobs making more then them, they let us go. The told me if i was in a different city I could have been shot because my shirt match my car. After being detained for 30 mins they let us go. 2 hrs after, I call to make a complaint. The watch commander was a total idiot and seem to side with his guys and say i have no proof. Then I ask ti show GPS locations for the times and he hands up. Called back and he said he'll get back to me, which he never did. I can go on and on about the many times I've been pulled over. Like the time I was "pulled over" as soon as I got in my car in front of my house. Some short chubby guy came up with his gun drawn. I was scared shirtless of him, I seen him beat a driver on ave r a few years ago. Then blocked off the while street to get their story together. Me and my mother seen the whole thing, but when they came to the door, my mother was in fear and said she didn't want to be involved, and they said "so you didn't see anything... right".we seen him beat the hell out of a taxi driver, and block off the street for a hr. East Palmdale Sheriff's are AWESOME! Unfortunately I have had to call out for them a few times over the years and every time they arrived immediately. They always conduct themselves in a respectful, calm, patient, polite, courteous and helpful manner. They understand and sympathize the caller is fearful, emotional and upset. They act unbiased. Non judgmental. They are rational and calm in their conduct and offer calm reassurance that they will fully handle any problem needed. They take detailed notes and information and follow through on conducting a investigation to resolve any issue as well as follow up. I have high praise for the East Palmdale Sheriffs. East Palmdale is a high crime area and a dangerous area of patrol. Every day they risk their lives to protect the community. These brave sheriffs take their role of community safety very seriously and care deeply about the people of the community they service. Everyone matters to them.
