Dr. Fishman and his wonderful staff are first rate caregivers! If you need a podiatrist, there is no other place to go. His staff are efficient and welcoming. Dr. Fishman clearly loves people and helping them feel better. It's been a long time since I've seen a doctor who so obviously enjoys their line of work. I went in with foot pain which turned out to be a stress fracture. He hooked me up with a boot and ultimately his magical orthotics. I've had custom orthotics before which were just ok. Dr. Fishman's are fantastic! My break has healed and my foot pain from prior injuries (which were misdiagnosed by other podiatrists) has nearly gone away. Stay away from this guy. He finally asked me to go to another doctor because he didn't know how to heal his work. Thank God for Dr. Fay Azadi in Los Alamitos she got my foot healed in record time. This guy had me get an MRI and didn't look at it until I can into his office left me hanging for a week then told me my after surgey follow-ups were free only to turn around and charge me and when I asked about it was told they don't negotiate. I was referred to Dr Fishman for an ingrown toenail among other foot issues. They were able to squeeze me in on Christmas Eve... Which was great although I was worried about having a procedure right before the holiday. I've had a toenail partially removed before and it was terrifying. Dr Fishman was awesome! I barely felt a thing, I couldn't believe it. Such a different experience from the one I had in the past. Dr Fishman is easy to talk to, knowledgable, and has a way with helping you feel no pain. He was also able to address my other foot issues, and 2 weeks later my feet looked better than they had in months! I've since learned that my condition is likely to flare up for the rest of my life, but at least I can feel confident that I have a great podiatrist to help manage my care. I went to Dr Fishman for second opinion for a failed bunionectomy by another podiatrist that resulted in non union of bones fused. He was honest and straightforward in his assessment and explained why a revision was needed and what he needed to do to make it right. During what should have been a 2 1/2 hr surgery, he painstakingly found a way to remove the old screws that were too deeply imbedded and stripped. It took him 2 1/2 hrs just to remove the old screws and 1 hr 45 mins to implant a plate and 5 screws and shorten my second toe. I am so grateful he persevered as my condition was extremely challenging. I highly recommend him for the following reasons :He is thorough in his explanations, honest , caring, very progressive (one of the few podiatrist that performs stem cell injections during surgery to promote bone healing), knowledgeable and a great surgeon. My thanks to Catherine who stayed in contact with me when my original surgery date was cancelled due to Covid. Through her efforts I was able to get my surgery scheduled a month later when hospitals reopened for elective surgery. I give everyone in this clinic a 5 star! read more

Ingrown toenails are no fun. When I found Dr. Fishman, I had no idea what could be done for it. He told me about partial toenail removal, which really scared me! What a surprise the whole process was. He is so professional, personable, caring, and skilled - I cannot imagine ever going to anyone else. This review is long overdue. My daughter had an infected ingrown toenail so we went to her Pediatrician who referred us to a podiatrist (who shall remain nameless) at Hoag. This other podiatrist has offices in HB, Irvine and Orange. The procedure he did was extremely painful (numbing shot included) and the ingrown came back within 3 months. She had to have 3 procedures done with this other doctor and finally after 2 years of this he threw his hands up and said she'll have to have a major surgery to fix it. THANK GOD I CALLED DR. FISHMAN'S OFFICE. They squeezed her in the SAME day. We explained what had been going on and he assured us he could fix it permanently if we would just give him a shot at it. My daughter agreed to give it a other try and IT WORKED!! Not only does Dr. Fishman have an amazing bedside manner, his numbing shot was virtually painless and the recovery went very smoothly! He is a highly skilled dr. We had it done last year and after having missed 2 summers of the beach I am happy to say she had a wonderful summer without any toe infections!! I only wish we would've called DR FISHMAN first. Thank you again so much for healing my daughters toe. I would refer him to anyone. Don't waste time with other drs when it come to your child's toe! My husband stepped on a piece of wood and a small chunk went and stayed inside his foot. I took him to urgent care and thought nothing was inside and prescribed him some antibiotics to prevent infection. We went to a podiatrist in Riverside 2 months later, because it wasn't healing and always getting infected. Knowing how long it has been, this podiatrist cut his foot open digging in blindly to get the piece out. This caused a bigger wound and he got nothing out. We must have visited him on a regular basis and he kept prescribing antibiotics, did an Xray (which was pointless since he knew that wood does not show in Xray), and ultrasounds every visit ( he charged us $ 150 for every pointless ultrasound) He did say that was worried about doing a surgery on my husband's foot, because he did not want to cause any nerve or muscle damage. After 6 months of dealing with pain and infection, not being able to step on his foot, I convinced my husband to see another podiatrist, Dr Fishman. Dr Fishman was shocked with what's happening. He warned us that if a wound that does not show healing signs within 2 to 3 weeks, you should know something is definitely wrong. He ordered same day MRI for us. We drove an hour to see him, and he felt responsible to take care of my husband, even though we just met him. His sense of responsibility towards his patients makes him an amazing podiatrist. His staff were super helpful and friendly. They spent a while on the phone with the MRI center to get us in, same day and between appointments. MRI was done, and come to find out that there's a piece of wood pushed into the muscle and causing infection. Dr Fishman ordered immediate surgery. He was very efficient, helpful and responsible. He didn't dig blindly inside my husband's foot, after ordering a bunch of tests with no purposes as the other podiatrist did. He was very confident and had no worries in regards to muscle or nerve damage. He walked in to surgery knowing what he's looking for and where to find it. Surgery was performed and was easy. Wound was cleaned and closed completely with stitches for faster healing and to prevent infection. There was no concern with any muscle or nerve damage, and my husband was back on his feet within 3 weeks. Dr Fishman is a genuine doctor that cares for his patients, professional, and instead of being overwhelmed with patients, he overwhelms his patients with care and attention. read more

I so highly recommend Dr Michael Fishman. I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a toddler. I spent my early years in corrective shoes and braces because it affected my left side. My left foot is so flat that I essentially walk on the inside of my ankle and have a very pronounced limp. As I got older i wore an insert that was made for me but was not really helpful for my condition. Now middle aged, I have been experiencing a lot of foot pain and was referred to Dr Fishman by my parents to see if he could help. He decided the best course would be to make an orthotic or insert for me. He painstakingly made an orthotic that has been so much of a help- it does take time to get used to walking correctly now but my limp has so greatly improved and I feel so much more balanced than I ever did in my life. Dr. Fishman is nothing short of awesome. I had a bad ingrown toenail and he cut it out and applied an oitment so that it wouldn't grow back anymore. When I returned from a Convention in Las Vegas, where I was on my feet walking and standing for three days in shoes that were too small, two of my toes on both feet had nails that had turned completely black. Dr. Fishman was very methodical in explaining the structure of my feet and why this occurred. He was very honest in telling me that there was no procedure he could do to correct this situation. He said it would take time but that the situation would resolve itself. The nail needed to grow out past the discoloration. He went above and beyond - although he was completely booked for two weeks, he came in an hour early in order to see me. Thank-you, Dr. Fishman. Dr. Fishman and his office staff helped save my life. In late June I came in with a ten year old wired still in the bone from a bunion removal surgery. I never went to have it removed. It had become infected and painful. Dr. Fishman removed the wire and sadly and NOT Dr. Fishmans fault it was infected. An abscess formed on top of my foot ( big toe knuckle ). Again this is not Dr. Fishmans fault at all. It was something really unfortunate that happened. The Dr moved quickly and it was a awful physical thing to experience. What helped get me through was the support from A few of the staff, specifically Susie and Megan! I really am thankful for the three of them. Susie got me in last minute. She spoke to my fiancé on my behalf and squeezed me in. Thankfully because it was really bad as we all shortly found out. She even allowed us to contact her on her off time Incase anything happened. Then Megan was a beautiful nurse that endured all the gore along side us. They were all so kind during that tough time. Dr. Fishman is a wonderful and professional, skilled DPM. If I had to do it again I would not use the $350 shot not covered by insurance for plantar's wart. It did not go well. I've been in pain for almost a month. I developed a blister which caused a potential infection. Dr. Fishman is a good doctor and prepared me that it could be painful but just saying it was not worth the pain for a plantar's wart. I would opt for freezing and frequent visits first. He responds quickly to calls and called in a medication and it is slowly improving. If you're trying to decide to due the shot and you're sensitive to medication, I would not do it. read more

Dr Fishman spent time with me to really understand where my pain was coming from. He was very thorough and patient which I appreciate so much. He was great at explaining and answering my questions as well. He suggested orthotics to relieve my arch/big toe pain and after a few months of wearing them I am feeling so much better. I am a working professional so I dress up everyday and walk a lot for work. He customized a pair that would fit in dressier shoes as well as for tennis shoes. This review is late, but here it is. This Dr. is by far great at his work! After i hit my big toe it turned into an ingrown nail. I mistakenly tried to handle it myself but ended up getting it infected. It would heal so I went to urgent care. Rude dr. He just glimpsed at it and prescribed antibiotics... and out he sent me. No way jose! No other place would see me because of insurance or no app. Called Dr. Fishmans office and explained my situation. The staff was awesome! They fit me in the next day. Dr's bedside manner excellent! He cleaned and Examined it. Turns out there was a little sac (forgot what he called it) underneath. He treated it and prescribed meds. Very gentle and considerate through the exam with my toe. And out I went with a healing toe. Office called a few days later to see how I was doing. And f/u appointment was just as great!
