They are communicative and thoughtful in how they approach dental treatment. Sometimes my kids have had a harder time with traditional x-rays because of their sensory sensitivities and if needed, they will use a dental cone beam computed tomography machine which they have in their office as well. They also have something called a Solea laser which is leading-edge equipment that makes things like cavity repair faster and more comfortable. I appreciate dental offices that keep up with technology to improve the patient experience, especially for kids. (Yes, I used to work in the dental industry too!) After our experience with him, I completely understand why she recommended him. I was impressed from the very beginning. Dr. Smith schedules a full hour for the consultation at no charge and with absolutely no pressure to move forward with the release. He took his time explaining the procedure, what we could expect if we chose to do it, and what we might expect if we decided not to. I was very nervous about putting my daughter through the procedure, and he helped me feel much more comfortable that the experience would likely be easier on her than I was imagining. We decided to move forward with the release. Parents aren't in the room during the procedure, so as soon as they told me I could come back, I rushed in expecting my daughter to be very upset. Instead, I found her perfectly content, bouncing in the nurse's arms. She wasn't crying or visibly distressed. I nursed her for a few minutes and she quickly fell asleep. That was an enormous relief for me. Dr. Smith was also very thorough about aftercare, including Tylenol dosing and exactly how to do the stretches so everything would heal properly. They gave me a number I could call or text with questions, including after hours when messages go directly to the doctor. Before I even had a reason to use it, Dr. Smith reached out himself that evening to check on my daughter. I did contact him with questions on a couple of occasions afterward, and he was always quick to respond and helpful. I also really appreciate that follow-up care is built into the process. We have two follow-up visits to make sure everything is healing correctly. I was nervous going into that first check, so it was a huge relief to hear that she was healing well, we were doing the stretches correctly, and everything was on track. Now, two weeks later, my daughter is barely fazed by the stretches, just as Dr. Smith told us would happen. Even better, we are already seeing such a difference with breastfeeding. She is transferring much more milk in less time, getting less frustrated, and no longer having to work so hard to compensate while feeding. I'm very grateful for how carefully Dr. Smith and his team handled the entire experience. From the consultation and procedure to the accessibility afterward and the follow-up care, I felt like my daughter was genuinely well taken care of.

I would not recommend him at all. He took a big chunk out of my tongue during a crown removal. The assistant blamed it on my tongue moving around during the procedure. I said, so the next patient is going to be told that there is a good chance a chunk of tongue will be taken out during a crown removal? They finally decided to use a tongue depressor to hold my tongue down and keep my tongue out of the way. Their excuse was that they did not anticipate the movement. What is this, the first time they have done this? Then the assistance kept running out of the office to get things. Why were they not prepared for all the tools and items they needed before I got there? There were more issues but I'm only going to concentrate on two: the chunk of tongue they took out and the disorganization. I'm not going back until Dr. Nguyen comes back.
