Got the call this morning the permanent crown arrived and they got me in to have it put in place. The extra effort was very much appreciated! I also took a look at their website which was very easy to navigate and find the information I needed. The entire process went very smoothly and overall, we had a great experience. Everyone was very warm and friendly and they made sure everything was taken care properly. We went here mainly for cleaning and the process was very organized - taking x-ray, check up exam with Doctor, and actual cleaning. Today I went in for a broken crown that was covering an implant I had done 10 years ago. Unfortunately the crown broke and he was able to offer me a great consultation and referral to the best Implant Dentist in the county to have the post removed so he can make a new crown with his great in house technology. By doing this it saves extra cost and time having an outside service do the crown that can often take many weeks. I would recommend Dr Joe Nguyen to anyone looking for professional honest Dentist!! i've been going to see dr. kamran and dr. vasefi since about 2018 when i moved back to san diego…read more dr vasefi always takes well care of my teeth and takes time to explain what might be happening with my oral health. she's also just a great person, super friendly and lovely. whenever i see dr. kamran, he's got great energy, works very quickly, and razor sharp instincts. they're the only dental office i've loved seeing for years, and to me that says a lot about their team and work culture. my previous experiences with other dentists has oddly often included surprise cavities and i would get headaches after the cleaning because of how rough they are. with this office, after getting regular (once a year) deep cleaning and checkups, i haven't had any issues with cavities since coming here.. my gum health goes up and down, but whenever i get deep cleaning here, it improves. i've had a couple of old cavities replaced by them, a fair amount of cleanings, and never have felt like i was being "upsold" just to make more money for the office (i'm a marketer by trade and i'm sensitive to this stuff as a buyer). they found problems with my health, explained what it was, prescribed the right solution (even though it's not covered by my insurance), and gave me a choice to not take it. that's the most "upsell" i've experienced. it's not bad practice...plus they take the time to really explain what's happening. they're transparent with your xrays, your gum health, and the conditions of your fillings. this is one office that i've seen keep up with the new tech coming out, and even have a customer portal for your dental checkins and summaries. i get calls and texts about my upcoming appointments, and the receptionists are always so nice to me even if i'm a bit annoyed about something completely unrelated! i don't have any issues with insurance since most of my work is paid out of pocket, plus knowing what i know about my gums, it's not covered by my plan. so of course it is expensive at times, but to me i happily pay it for the quality of work from dr kamran and dr. vasefi. this is just my personal experience here and i'm not paid (or given any special treatment) for doing this. give this office a shot before you judge it based on a few people's bad experiences... people only leave bad reviews when they're upset, but those who love it often don't even think about it so the only "complaint" i have is office has to do a better job asking their loyal patients to leave more reviews ;) big love to this office!

My whole family has gone to her for both aesthetic and restorative treatments for many years. She runs her office with the comfort of her patients in mind, starting with a professional and friendly staff that makes you feel at ease as soon as you enter. She has a gentle approach, always explaining the procedures ahead of time and checking often on your comfort level. For me personally, I went to Dr. Nguyen for a couple of crowns that had been done by a different dentist years ago; one had just broken off, and the other was quite old and needed replacing. She got me in quickly to take care of the broken crown. Dr. Nguyen has a machine that makes crowns in-office, so often a patient can get their permanent crown on the same visit and won't have to wear a temporary one. She took her time to craft and fit my crown perfectly while trying to save as much of my original tooth as possible. Most crowns I have had done in the past required 2 to 3 visits for adjustments because, as other dentists have repeatedly told me, I have a very unusual bite that shifts a lot, making it difficult to achieve a natural feel the first time. I came to expect multiple visits when I needed a crown. Not with Dr. Nguyen! Both times she did my crowns, they felt perfect the first time, so there was no need for adjustments. I feel relieved to know that as my old fillings need work in the future, I can rely on Dr. Nguyen, who has the expertise and takes individual care seriously. She is also very personable and listens well to my concerns. I am also happy with the Invisalign treatment I received from her to fix my misalignment.
