I don't know about the other doctors, but Dr. Yixi Kevin Lu does not lnow how to do a simple cortisone shot im a toe. It is a holiday and I can't enjoy myself because when I walk it feels like my knee is going to give out, my calf starts aching and my toe aches. He twisted and turned the needle in my toe as I begged him to please stop. I screamed and begged and it still took what seems like around 15 to 20 seconds. He intentionally inflicted pain. In 12 years of getting this shot once a year, I have never ever experienced this. It is a simple procedure and Dr. Kevin Lu is not to be trusted. I love to walk and since he touched my tie. When I walk its like my knee is about to go out. He deleted my xray because he knew what he was about to do. Don't trust him. Every day I am forced to think about him and not in a good way because of him my quality of life is compromised. He's desperate for regular visiting patients I guess, I was perfectly fine before. Dr Marcus by far is a 5 star premier doctor. Not only did he cure my heal spur without surgery several years ago, I just recently I had a bunionectomy which I decided to have done after dealing with pain for several years. To date 4 weeks of post recovery and everything's on target for full recovery. Don't believe the lesser ratings that have been written, the patients need to be proactive and simply ask questions, I've been treated with the utmost respect and care by the entire staff (Dr. Marcus, Julie & Gina and the other staff members , not knowing there names. Dr. Marcus is the best, so you waited an hour or two to wait for him, if you want the best then sometimes you have to wait. I've been going to Dr. Marcus for 14 years and yes I would have to wait but it was worth it, he is the greatest foot doctor ever. I will admit one thing, the receptionist Gina is very, very Rude, she tries to be nice but you can tell it is Fake. Receptionist is rude, waiting an hour for my mom to be called in. When I asked how long the wait time will be, I was told an hour or longer is standard wait time. I was also told that all patients are aware of the long wait time. Unacceptable!!! I told them they need to advise new patients what to expect. I hope I never have to come me here with my mom again. I give Dr. Marcus a top rating because he is knowledgeable and comprehensive. As Chief of the Medical Staff at Beverly Hospital, I'm sure he is quite busy and I'm sure patients have to wait to see him. But well worth the wait! He saw my brother recently who has had years of problems with his feet. My brother tore his Achilles years ago and nobody casted it, so it healed improperly. Since then he placed weight on the other foot so he broke bones without knowing or feeling it. That condition is called Charcot foot and this we learned from Dr. Marcus. My brother developed a new wound and went to emergency where Dr. Marcus accepted my brother. He was admitted around 8:30am and didn't see the doctor until around 8:30pm. However, he had all the results to the scans he ordered during the day and came prepared with an analysis that my brother had a history of neglect and presented a comprehensive plan to fix not just the infected foot, but both. We felt relieved that a doctor took the time to not just treat the current problem but consider multiple causes and propose to fix those too. Further, I couldn't believe that he was still at work, 12 hours later and he still had energy. He's obviously committed and enjoys what he does. I'm glad to see that we still have good doctors that choose to serve the residents of Montebello and stay at a smaller hospital. My experience with him has been positive and I'm very appreciative! read more

IF YOU DECIDE ON THIS DOCTOR MAKE SURE YOU'RE OKAY WITH WAITING AT LEAST 3 HOURS TO GET CALLED INTO THE ROOM AND ITS GOING TO BE ANOTHER 30 MINUTES MINIMUM BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY SEE HIM, the whole doctors office visit is at least a 4-5 hour process!!! Also I asked them not to fully sedate me for my surgery and they did. Hopefully today is my last appointment and just for you guys to understand what I'm saying a little more, my appointment was at 9:30...I arrived at 9:27...and the doctor decides to arrive to work at 11:06...so why schedule me at 9:30?!?!?! read more

Dr Marcus is very knowledgeable and personable, however his appointment system leaves more to want. This is why I'm giving him 3 stars. I've been here twice and both times I waited 1.5 hours (after my appointment time) to be seen. So be ready to wait. Before I gave him my feedback, the receptionist said that he likes to double back on patients and that the long waiting time is normal at this office. Then after my consultation, I gave him this feedback personally and he said that most doctors don't even deal with appointments and that he's been in practice for 40 years and that's how things are--which didn't really address my comment. If you deal with appointments (like most doctors do that I've been to), my recommendation is to schedule people an hour after their original appointment time. Don't double up on people. It doesn't make any sense at all to make people wait so long when you know they're going to wait anyway. It's very disrespectful to everybody that has to wait. 15-30 minutes can be understandable, but an hour and a half, both times... If you still decide to go here, he's very knowledgeable and friendly, which can make up for the flawed appointment system they run. read more

Dr. Marcus is extremely rude and extremely unprofessional. I went into his office and paid a $50 cop at waited for 2 1/2 hours before he could see me and asked me for a additional $320 cash before he would even consult me. On top of it I brought in my x-rays (which his staff asked me to do ) and he wouldn't even look at them. He told me that my $320 would apply to my deductible but that he was giving me "special rate" and going to over charge the insurance. He didn't even take the time to talk to me about what I was there for. He was more concerned about fretting paid. Doesn't co pay cover consultation ? I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. Don't waste your time and let's also mention his facility was filthy. I've never been treated so rudely in my life! Shame on him! Doesn't even deserve 1 star! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR! I usually do not write reviews, but Dr Marcus was so rude and unprofessional that I decided to write one and warn people about him. I read several bad reviews about him but decided to give him a chance and scheduled an appointment with him. Big mistake. He is extremely rude and unprofessional. First of all I had to wait for over an hour to get attended (even though I was 10 minutes early to my appointment). Also, his office was filthy. Most importantly, he did not answer ANY of my questions regarding my foot. He is excellent at avoiding questions or answering without actually addressing the question. He kept talking about deductibles and forms of payment. He was so unhelpful that I'm going to another podiatrist. Make yourself a favor and go to literally any other podiatrist. read more
