Dr Vega is an excellent human being; besides his great knowledge, he really cares about his patients. Unfortunately, he is no longer there, and his replacement treats you poorly if you disagree with him, making you feel bad with his sarcastic comments. He is loud and rude to his staff. I waited for a long time for him while he was yelling and berating someone in his office. He was cursing loudly enough that my daughter heard it when she called me to ask if everything was okay. She was in the waiting room and said the girl in the front just said they are used to him. I'm pretty sure his staff is miserable. The only nice girl at the front who scheduled my last appointment is gone, too. She was always smiling. Maybe she was the one getting yelled at when I was there. I don't write reviews, but my daughter said it is important for people to know how things have changed in this office. read more

From the front office to the back starting with Claudia the "office manager" To Samantha the "backup" to Dr. Vega and the woman in the back Janet or something. The work ethic with the girls there is so incredible they are all so incompetent. They don't return calls, so when I finally get ahold of someone of course it's Samantha who is Extremely RUDE! just like she is when I bring my mom to her appointments. I needed to bring my dad to see a podiatrist and Dr Susanna Chan was highly recommended. Upon entering the office we were greeted by front office staff. I should mention that my dad speaks little English and everyone was so patient with him. We worked with two assistants - April and Vanessa - who helped take his history/vitals and X-ray. They were both very lovely and made my dad feel comfortable. (YES the X-ray machine was in house so that really saved us a trip!) Lastly. I cannot recommend Dr Chan enough! She is very thorough with her exam, went through the X-ray with us in detail, and explained my dads condition patiently. He asked a million questions and she addressed them all! Dr Chan is also mandarin speaking so my dad felt at ease with her. We drove all the way from south Orange County to see Dr Chan. For the best care we will be driving back! read more

What can I say about Dr. Michael Vega? Well, it's as easy as 1, 2, 3! Professionalism, patience, and understanding of my podiatry needs. It's not easy to entrust a doctor with surgery procedures but guess what? Dr. Vega is 110% trustworthy due to his experience and years of practice. I've had a few surgeries with him within the last 20 years and I have nothing but high regards for him. I've had the following procedures: mallet toe correction (11/19/20) and a hammertoe correction in my younger years. Voila! My toes look and feel fabulous! Front office is informative and friendly to all patients. Recently as I visited before my surgery date I forgot my glasses and Samantha (front office/insurance) was kind enough to offer help. Had to wait an hour after my appointment time. Patients came in after me and was called back before me. When I asked the front desk receptionist how much longer she said a few more minutes. Well as we are waiting we have two more patients who come in and are taken back for treatment. When I addressed the receptionist of having to wait over an hour from my scheduled appointment she became argumentative and rude. Office manager wanted to reschedule and I informed her we waited well over a hour why would we reschedule now. Informed her if we had to wait this long why would they not see her last week. Explained to her that I'm trying to explain to her what proper etiquette is and they never acknowledged us or said it would be longer wait until I addressed them and her staff became aggressive and argumentative. Informed her that her front desk staff has no customer service or etiquette when it comes to their customers/patients. Your office can use some training lady. Staff than began talking about what they would have done to a patient if it was them unacceptable. Th Montebello office is very unprofessional and the Had to wait an hour after my appointment time. Patients came in after me and was called back before me. If your African American they don't acknowledge you or care about your questions or concerns. Steer clear and find another Then for your staff to begin talking about what they would have done to a patient if it was them! UNACCEPTABLE! BEWARE OF BILLING PRACTICES HERE! The two stars is just for the treating doctor I believe Dr. Lee. She was super friendly and attentive to my problem. Unfortunately, due to distance I had to stop going. She was friendly and nice but after getting a second opinion her treatment was not really effective and just putting a bandaid over the problem instead of fixing it and getting to the root of the problem. My issue is with billing and the nightmare I have had to deal with. I went in for my visit and paid $160 for the visit copay and amount towards my deductible. Second visit I went in and was told I had an outstanding balance of $159.98. I was appalled and confused (thankfully, I work in billing so I know all about billing and EOBs) I had paid $160 so why was I being charged double? There was an EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional receptionist sitting next to Claudia (Claudia is amazing!) telling me I had to call my insurance because I owed the money and don't know what they were supposed to do. I was there for over 15 minutes explaining to them I already paid and had the explanation of benefits showing I technically overpaid by .03¢. After being told I had to call insurance I walked out in tears extremely upset. Called my insurance ASAP and of course, I was right and had already paid my patient responsibility. I filed a grievance right away due to the mistreatment and rudeness I dealt with. Shortly after leaving Claudia called me and apologized that I was right and did not have an outstanding balance...beware: always look at EOB to what your patient responsibilities are because otherwise if I did not know I would have been paying twice! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Vega for several years, now. I started with him to fix a totally botched up surgery that left my left foot with dislocated toes, looking mangled, and in a lot of pain. Dr. Vega completely re-did my foot, straightened out the toes, making my foot look human, again, and no more pain. I returned to have my right foot bunion and hammer toes fixed and all was successful. Dr. Vega is very patient, thorough, and explains things very clearly. He listens to what I have to say and is very caring and concerned for my wellbeing. Dr. Vega is truly the "specialist" and is highly experienced and knowledgeable in the podiatry world! The doctors here are so wonderful and really on their "A"game when it comes to helping me figure out what was wrong with my feet and they always kept me up to date with what was going on with my feet. If there was such a thing of negative starts I would gladly put that. This place is such a joke, I clearly made it known when I made the appointment that I was making the appointment for a laser treatment, I get there with the sole intention of it since I thought I was cleared while making that appointment. It all starts with the appointment we were advise to be there 15 min before the appointment, the appointment was schedule for 3:30 pm I was literally there by 3:10pm waited 30 min before being address, once inside the doctor went over other options besides the laser treatment and stated it was too late to do it if willing to reschedule mind you we drove over 60 miles to get to this office since we were there before and had a pleasant experience w why not, they Didn't care of the time and money we lost by this appointment her concern was that it was too late to do it and was running behind. First of all when we sat and waited patiently the front desk receptionist were talking about what personal was going to be coming in which days and who going on vacation etc so how is it our fault that they waisted over 30min. Now after the appointment I explain my frustration and pretty much their excuse was all that they had an emergency procedure, I work in the medical field and I know that does happen but options are given this office did not give an option, they were rude and dismissive. They lack empathy being that we drove a distance lost time from work and payed out of pocket was not addressed nor cared by this office, spent $70 for the "consultation" which was unnecessary since we were there before. I am disappointed and beyond upset! I had to press on a start in order to post this!!! They don't even deserve it! read more

Their conduct regarding service dogs is absolutely outrageous. The clinic violated the law. I went in with my service dog. First thing they told me they don't allow dogs inside. I told them it was a service dog. They demanded to see proof. According to the ADA, It is illegal for anyone to ask you to show service dog papers or documentation. I asked for my insurance documents back and told them that I would not be coming back. They insulted my dog. They violated the law. I will be submitting a complaint with the ADA. read more

This Dr. is amazing! I was referred to him by my primary physician because I needed major surgery on my peroneal tendon. I previously consulted several doctors that did not have the competence or knowledge that Dr. Vega demonstrated on our first encounter. Dr. Vega has excellent bedside manner, he was clear with pre and post operation instructions, had knowledge of the latest mobility devices and was honest about a patients attitude toward a total recovery (lots of rest, ask for help, follow instructions). I am now 3 months post operation and feel much better than before surgery, I am aware that getting back to my normal routine will take effort on my part. I am grateful that good Dr.'s still practice.
