Found myself in a predicament after stepping on a sewing needle went to the ER and found that there was a one inch piece of the needle broken in between the 2nd & 3rd meditarsal bones. Had to wait an hour after my appointment time. Patients came in after me and was called back before me. They don't cater to African American at all won't acknowledge you or care about your questions or concerns. Steer clear and find another facility. When I addressed the receptionist of having to wait over an hour from my scheduled appointment she became argumentative and rude. She the began to stare me down and roll her eyes and speak be things in Spanish to her co workers. Be aware of those who can understand Spanish. She began to then tell other patients who came in that they're running behind. Office manager wanted to reschedule and I informed her we waited well over a hour why would we reschedule now. Explained to her that I'm exposing that they have no customer service or etiquette when it comes to their customers/patients. Your office can use some training lady. I have gone to several Podiatrists in the area from Pasadena, Arcadia and as far away as San Dimas,all were inadequate in caring for my problems with swelling, wound care and helping me to maintain foot health . Dr Vega excels in wound care with an intensity that assured me that any infection that could be found will be eradicated ! Dr Susanna is also superb in overall foot care . So I tweeked my foot and had to go to see the doc today. After being off the court for a year and then getting back on the court I felt these foot problems reoccur. I've know about Dr. Ung for many years and have seen him in the past. he has always done good for my feet so when this happened I needed to make the decision to go see him. He is very thorough in his explanations and when I left I felt much better. He said with proper care I should be up and running in no time. This podiatry practice is amazing. I highly recommend it. We occasionally go to the Montebello office -- which is always a nice backup option in the event of scheduling issues. But we completely love the Duarte location with its excellent staff and care. I personally work with doctors and pts on a daily basis and I know what it is...so to have to go to a clinic that from the medical asst to the doctor have no clue what there doing I find that ridiculous this doctor does not write notes only knows how to make orders to insurance company's to what they made me understand and thought i had no clue of how doctors and doctors orders work when I was going thur so much trouble in getting my mom a MRI of her foot these people are so irresponsible it took my mother 2 months just to get thur with all the issues on getting a MRI if your having issues with your foot look in to some place else because chances are your foot my get amputated by the time they actually do something right read more

I am a long time patient of Dr. Vega's. I suffer from heel pain and for as long as I've been going there Dr. Vega has been very caring and kind. His staff is also excellent I feel like they really do go above and beyond to do what is possible to get me in to see the doctor asap. There have been times when Dr Vega has been completely booked and his staff scheduled my visit with the other doctor in the office (I can't remember her name but she is a female). She too was very nice. They also have another location in Montebello where I've been offered appointments at when Dr. Vega is not available in Arcadia. Be warned. I made an appt to see a podiatrist because I wanted to go straight to the most skilled resource for my foot problem and not waste time seeing a primary doctor only to be referred to a specialist. Part of seeing a specialist not only gives me access to someone with specialized skills, but also access to the specialized tools to perform their specialty right there in their office. For example, ENT's have certain scopes in their offices that regular doctors would not, orthopaedic surgeons have XRay machines while regular doctors would not, etc. Unfortunately the day I went to this office their XRay machine was down. I overheard the receptionist talking about it to another patient who was being asked to come back another day because they couldn't do an XRay, even though he had already seen the doctor. So I inquire about what that means for my visit and they try their best to get me to see the doctor even though I will have to come back at a later time for an XRay. Yeah, right. I'm here to not waste time, remember? So I tell them they should have called me ahead of time to save me the trip and explain that I'm not going to proceed with the appointment if it means I have to come back for an XRay at a later time because their machine is down. I will find another Podiatrist because you know what they say about 1st impressions... and they loused up my 1st impression of them for sure. So, I thought that was behind me until 3 months later they have the nerve to send me a bill for a No Show appointment. Talk about adding insult to injury. OK, first, I was there, sitting in their waiting room and conversing with their receptionist... signed in and everything to prove it. Not my fault they weren't equipped to see me with all the resources one should expect a podiatrist to have readily available. Second, are they really this hard up for money that they have to resort to extortion? Do I think my bill for a No Show is a clerical mistake? No, I think they are unscrupulous, untrustworthy, irrational and arrogant crooks who desperately need some business ethical training. Third, I never agreed to paying a no show fee (which is irrelevant because let's not forget the fact that I didn't pull a no show). It would be just like if I sent them a bill for the hour I lost from work and the gas I used to get to their place when they weren't equipped to provide service to me in the first place. They didn't agree to pay me for my wasted time and gas so why would I feel justified in billing them for it? Fourth, I will never pay a sheistser trying to shake me down to get something for nothing. Never. Is that how we do business in America? No, consumers are protected from shady business practices. They should most definitely apologize and try to show good faith if they don't want the kind of reputation they are currently building for themselves. FYI, I believe my appt was with Dr. Vega, who acted as though he could care less of the situation when the receptionist told him I was concerned that my appt would be for naught since their XRay machine was down. Shame on him too. He should have done more to prevent his office from behaving like crooks months after I was there, but really his mannerisms were very much saying he could care less about my concerns. read more

I don't know which office, Arcadia or Montebello this Brenda from LaPuente went to or which Doctor she saw since her review didn't say but I have been a patient of Dr Alvin Ung's for many years and he is excellent!! Dr Ung has helped me on many occasion and is very thorough. I have recommended Dr Ung to many people and will continue to do so. My only problem is that Dr Ung is only at the Arcadia office on Monday. read more

Wow! What a Wonderful Staff and Doctor. I had an toe infection and needed to see a doctor right-away! I called all over town and couldn't get an appointment with any doctor within the same week or month. I called Arcadia-West Beverly Podiatry Group and asked for an appointment with Dr. Shelley Gath and explained my situation; the receptionist was very nice, and understanding; although the doctor did not have any open appointments and despite the fact that I was a new patient the receptionist said, she would work me in and gave me an appointment for the next day. When I arrived, Nikki S. the receptionist was very friendly, and patient. I appreciated that she took time to explain everything to me; she was very polite, understanding and had a caring attitude. The wait time in the lobby was not long either; I was taken into the examination room almost immediately after my arrival. Dr. Shelly Gath is a outstanding and caring doctor. She is extremely friendly, and considerate of your wishes. She took her time examining me and handled the fear I had of needing my toenail removed due to an infection with reassurance, patience, all the while calming my fears, and telling me that I will be fine. She is truly a doctor who takes into consideration how the patient feels and does whatever she can to make you feel comfortable and relaxed when you receive treatment.
