How does the procedure goes for bunion issues? I have slight pain on my right foot when I am walking. Thank you.

Hi Joey, not all bunions are the same. There are many different types of procedures we perform for bunions depending on the severity of the deformity. They range from procedures which involve a small incisions with a same day recovery to larger…

From the very…read morebeginning, Dr. Yu took the time to understand my injury history and created a customized program specifically tailored to my needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. During the program, I unfortunately sustained another injury affecting my neck, shoulder, and back. Instead of simply pausing my progress, Dr. Yu quickly pivoted and developed a new plan that worked around my limitations while helping me recover safely. His depth of knowledge of the human body is truly remarkable. Thanks to his expertise and personalized approach, I'm now able to work out again and even get back to hiking--activities I wasn't sure I'd be able to enjoy after my injuries. That progress has been incredibly meaningful to me. Dr. Yu is like a mad scientist--in the best possible way. He's completely devoted to his craft, constantly analyzing, adapting, and finding the most effective approach for each individual. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping his clients heal, move better, and perform at their best. If you're looking for someone who combines scientific expertise with personalized care and delivers real results, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Benjamin Yu and the Longevity Performance Institute.

I came in with severe right shoulder pain…read morethat was deeply impacting my daily life--I couldn't even reach my right arm across to touch my left shoulder.Right after my very first shockwave session, my pain level dropped. Even though that initial relief was temporary, it was a massive breakthrough because it finally allowed my nervous system to calm down and relax. Over the course of the next 8 shockwave treatments, the progress was incredible. The sharp pain I used to feel every time I reached across my body became significantly less intense. The biggest win for me is that I no longer automatically grimace or tense up in anticipation of the pain. If you are dealing with chronic joint or muscle pain, their Shockwave Therapy is highly effective and worth every penny.

The front desk girl was friendly and helped squeeze me in for the last mn before they close on Wednesday. To my shocking surprise, Dr Roger didn't ask me where I wasn't feel well or even asked how I was doing. He went straight to check my main spine, which seemed good, he didn't event adjust it but told me to roll to the side for lower back adjustments. Then adjusted my necks, which left me shocking traumatized. My neck wasn't relaxed yet and he already cracked me, both side. I was in such much pain that I couldn't move when he's done. He told me that we're done, and I said just a moment while closing my eyes and holding me neck in pain. He didn't ask to make sure if I was ok, he just left into his room. I was so surprised, but I tried to get up and leave. Someone on Yelp said this location isn't owned by the same owner fell West Covina one, maybe that's why my Dr at West Covina left me better impression. I'd never come back to this location again. I hope other patients would take initiation to speak up and protect your body.

So here it goes: Gather round, my friends, it's story time. So without divulging my entire medical history, I will share with my fellow Yelpers that I, Margo "Yelp-go", have EDS (has nothing to do with ED and everything to do with chronic pain) I have been to SO many pain management doctors (around 6) and after a bad experience at Risser Orthopedic (don't worry, I'll get to that review later) I decided to search for the Dr that led me to go to Risser in the first place (*cue the music*) Dr Moradian! I had seen Dr Moradian briefly around 7 yrs prior after a car accident, at Risser. He was kind, professional and after 5 other pain management doctors later, definitely more skilled. (Yes, I will publicly shame these past practices at a later date. Your girl's trying to stay positive here) When I returned to Risser, I asked to see Dr Moradian and was told he was no longer there. Obviously, I created a false narrative that he retired young and was traveling the Bahamas in happiness and that he was no longer an option for me. So fast forward to me having enough of the disappointment with Risser. (I'm talking about them randomly changing appointments on me without letting me know and literally calling me for a phone appointment when my poor grandma was dying in a hospital and then charging me for not being available despite not ever scheduling me for that day. Then mix in Evelyn with the attitude...) I digress, I was just done. I felt like I was starting from ground zero and decided I would just google Dr Moradian. I guess I thought, "hmm, maybe he's retired but has a a twin with the same career and professionalism". I'm so glad I did because *BAM* I found him (in hindsight I should have just started with this, but hey, you live and you learn) When I called to schedule, he wasn't available. An invisible tear fell from my face. The lady on the other line recommended that I try his colleague Dr Vartanian. I admit, I was hesitant but figured he had to be "okay" if he was with Dr Moradian. I was RIGHT (and a little wrong) because Dr Vartanian is amazing! *confetti emoji* He's not only the most gentle Trigger Point Injector (again, I've had this done by now 7 drs.) but he's also compassionate towards his patients and encourages a plan towards maintaining mobility for a rewarding life. He's the first doctor that I would vouch for to say that he's a genuinely good person. Not just a "good doctor" but a "good person".

Listen, I hate needles and if I can avoid it I will, but I've been to Dr. Tu a handful of times…read moredue to lifting injuries or other injuries. To be honest, acupuncture is my last line of defense and I'll do it as my last resort just because I hate needles, but the fact that I keep coming here to fix myself despite the aversion to needles is a testament to how GOOD Jenny is. If you're an athlete, come here. She will understand, as she's an athlete herself, as she was an elite powerlifter and martial artist. She, as a clinician just "gets it." which is so important as a clinician! I want to show the few times she has literally and figuratively saved my ass: My sciatica. I went on a road trip and it flared up so bad that I contemplated going to the ER. I couldn't even touch the skin around my glutes, it was so bad that I had numbness and tingling in the saddle area, injection of toradol didn't work, vicodin didn't even work. I was in bed laying on my left side for days. I couldn't walk. My entire right side and some of my left from the low back to my heel hurt, and when I got there some of the symptoms subsided in it's intensity but it was still there. I'm a physical therapist, but II couldn't even do the easist exercises I would prescribe to my patients because it hurt so bad. I couldn't even tolerate any soft tissue massage. She did her work and her magic and brought my pain down to a manageable level where I could tolerate walking, sitting and going to a massage therapist (shout out to citris body workx) who aboslutely annhilated my piriformis and then I was fixed. She was able to get deep into the piriformis and into my hamstring insertion points (it was NOT painless but she did such an amazing job) If it weren't for Jenny, I wouldn't have been able to get there. More recently, she helped me with my neck and shoulder problems that have been getting worse over the past couple months and it came to a head a month ago. Again, acupuncture really fixed a lot of muscle trigger points that was causing the pain. and after a day or two I felt so much better. I even started lifting again (lightly). I am still going to her for the same issue, but the fact that I was living with probably an 8/10 pain (dull deep aching pain) and went to a 4-5/10 is amazing. For my sciatica I went from a 10/10 (as in, almost into the ER, sometimes crying) to a 4/10 immediately and was able to tolerate massage work from somewhere else. Also, if you like dry needling (like physical therapists outside of CA and CA athletic trainers do) then she does that as well.
