From the moment he responded to my request until the time he left, Michael has been nothing but polite, professional, and transparent. He was also extremely punctual about his time frame, even calling to give an ETA, which I really appreciate because most companies would just have you wait around all morning, unable to carry on with any plans because you don't want to miss them when they arrive. I contacted Michael to assess several electrical projects that my parents' home required: replace an existing ceiling fan and an outdated smoke/carbon monoxide detector/alarm in the hallway. There was also the curious issue of one of two handblown pendant lights in the kitchen that was always hanging slightly crooked. Michael took the time to carefully discuss each of the tasks at hand and explain the options I might consider for the hallway smoke/carbon monoxide detector/alarm. As for the crooked pendant light-- it was not just a matter of readjusting the top of it (my incorrect assumption). Michael pointed out that one pendant had the correct hardware and its lopsided twin did not. He also said that because of the weight of the handblown pendants, the fixtures should be replaced as the pendants were not adequately supported. He counseled me on what I should ask for at the lighting store so that I could purchase new fixtures for both pendants. As is common with home projects, I realized after Michael left that there were an additional three smoke/carbon monoxide detector/alarm units that needed replacement and that getting the hardware for the pendant fixtures was going to take additional time. When Michael arrived today do the work, he patiently installed the Nest app and set up the software for the four Nest detector/alarms (which takes much more time than you think). He proceeded to install each unit and even accommodated my request to vacuum the extremely dusty (disgusting) ceiling vent that was adjacent to the hall alarm/detector ("You know, Michael, while you're up there, could you...?"). It was greatly appreciated as I didn't have a 10' ladder to do that job! Michael did an amazing job, was friendly, professional, and just a pleasure to work with. He is returning when I have the correct fixtures for the pendant lights and will tackle other projects we discussed.
