I had a corrective cut and color gone wrong, felt completely defeated, and then....because life has impeccable timing...I landed a dream job interview for the very next day!!! In a panic, I sent out a Yelp service request, and it connected me with Jody, who might as well be a literal angel....call it divine timing I guess?! She opened the salon door calm, collected, and completely confident while I walked in feeling embarrassed, defeated, and convinced my hair was beyond saving. Not only did she squeeze me in at the last minute, she willingly took on a corrective cut and corrective color that many stylists wouldn't touch!!! especially with zero notice! She never made me feel like it was impossible or I was a problem. She just got to work. Less than three hours later, mind you....never has my hair taken less than 3hrs for a normal color and cut, & somehow this woman literally transformed it! Watching someone operate at that level of skill is incredible. My mom was a hairdresser for years and always took clients at the house. Trust, I've seen a lot! There was no panic, no gimmicks, no upselling...just years of expertise, thoughtful decision-making, and genuine artistry. But what impressed me even more was who she is. Jody is honest. She's real. She has incredibly high standards without an ounce of ego. She listened, she was patient, and she worked with me despite my very tight budget because she knew I was trying to prepare for a life-changing interview. Since then, my friends and family haven't stopped telling me how much brighter and lighter I look. Not just my hair...but me!!! They keep saying I'm smiling with my whole face again and standing a little taller. And they're right! I walked into that interview today feeling like myself again confident, put together, and present. I crushed the it! Would that have happened without Jody? Maybe. My hair took longer than management expected and even when they asked her multiple times if she would be done so she could take another client she didn't start rushing to finish my hair which I appreciate. It's horrible feeling when you try to get a service and they rush you out just to get another client done. I will suggest that maybe there be an option for clients to choose a longer appointment time especially for those of us who have longer and thicker hair. Well around 2-3 pm they rushed towards the end ended up just blow drying my bangs and front portion said I had good products to do the rest of blow dry on my own. Second visit I get a little confident by the stylist Michael Leigh so not only do I get highlights but I had him give me a new do. Well the response was crazy and the compliments were flowing. In fact a week after getting my last hair appointment I was out of town and need a blow out for a wedding I was attending. The stylist there complimented my cut and highlights. So the cherry on top of compliments came from my husband. He saw all the hoopla so he made an appointment to come to Michael Leigh for a haircut. Well he's already been back for a second appointment. So now we both have Michael Leigh do our hair. The thing about Yelp you hate to share your secrets but since we both have our next appointments already made I will let you all know.
