BEWARE, if all of their employees deal with you like one dealt with did. We were asked as a…read moresupplier / subcontractor to quote on a particular project. We did and after three revisions their Project Manager asked for drawings and details of the product. Since this was not a design build project (we were not being paid to design the requested product), I informed their Project Manager that we would not provide drawings and design details until we had a signed proposal or a formal contract to provide the product (this is so they don't take our design and others bid on our design without having to have an architect or engineer design the work). Finally, after a few requests and subsequent explanations of why we didn't provide the design specifications he signed our proposal (executed the contract) for us to provide the product and installation services. Two days after receiving the signed proposal we supplied the design specifications and drawings for approval. Then a little over 2 hours after the drawings being emailed to the Project Manager, in a reply email he says "We are looking into more cost effective options at the gate. Hold off on drawings until further notice". Yes, after he had already been sent & received (I know he got it because the cancelation email was a direct reply to the email the drawings were attached to). T sum things up, after 5 months of being in contact, a site meeting to go over what was proposed & make sure it was acceptable to the field superintendent (who actually said it was a better design than he'd seen previously on other similar projects) and 3 variations to the project, he cancels the contract within 2 hours of getting the drawings. Totally unprofessional and not the way reputable people operate. I can't speak for the rest of the company but this guy is not someone you want to deal with if you like dealing with honest & straight forward people.

This started a back and forth where he claimed that I wanted it for free, and he wouldn't move off of that. Every other vendor seemed to understand, kind of offensive to basically be called a free loader. I just wanted some advice, and would pay them to do the work. YMMV, but I thought the whole exchange was very telling. Stay safe out there, these are crazy times. Edit: Option D. None of your business how I ended up here, but implying a potential client may not have paid is a reflection on you and your business. How you got the "lead" is irrelevant, I am pointing out your response. But keep adding, I'm sure potential clients will be thrilled with the prospect of working with you and your attitude.
