I was greeted by Doug, who makes you feel at home with a very calm and positive vibe. He then introduced me to Pablo, the star of the show. Did I say star? Rockstar is more like it. When Pablo says deep tissue, he means it. At times it felt like I had two guys working on me. He uses his thighs, knees and shin at the same time as his hands, forearms and upper arm. I don't know how he does it so flawlessly - he's like an octopus! He treated the problem areas I mentioned while connecting the work with the rest of my body. You can visualize how he makes the muscle progression. He is incredibly effective. I STRONGLY recommend Blu Day Spa and Pablo in particular if you are serious about recovery - whether it's a "formal" injury or you are just sore from everyday soreness. I book a massage with Michael each time we visit Provincetown. If I had to use one word to describe him as a massage therapist, it would be "amazing." He truly has magic hands. During my first visit with him several years ago, I had a massive headache and shoulder pain, and was about to cancel our plans for the day. By the time my massage was finished, however, not only were the aches in my shoulder gone...my headache was, too, and we were able to enjoy our activities that day. On our most recent visit this past week, I had somehow injured my shoulder a few days before our trip. The night before my scheduled massage, I could not even lift or use my left arm...that is how excruciating the pain was at the time. I explained the issue to Michael (he truly listens) and he concentrated his work around that area, and by the end of the massage, there was some relief. Before the end of the day, I could lift and use my arm again. I have gone to several different massage therapists over the years, but not one has the expertise, in my opinion, that Michael does. Others talk the same language, use similar terms, but it is what Michael does with this knowledge that separates him from the other therapists. If I could afford to fly to Provincetown more often, I would book a massage on a regular basis with him. read more

I have been going to Michael for close to 20 years now, his skills as a therapist go beyond a relaxing massage, he has helped me with some therapeutic issues throughout the years. He has a kind gentle soul, and truly wants you to get the best results no matter if it's just to relax or to help correct a injury or pain. Michael Perry is the most exquisitely talented massage therapist I've ever met and I've met more than a few. I have made pilgrimages to Ptown from DC just to have him put me back in whack. He is also a uniquely gentle soul with great taste in music (if you don't like the usual massage tracks) and hands that always seem to find the places in backs, hips, shoulders that require TLC. I asked for a simple tattoo and tried to draw a picture of what I wanted, but he grabbed the pen out of my hand, said "give me a second I will do it" and walked away annoyed for the first time. I agreed to his next plan, he was fine while he did my small piece, but as soon as I said I wanted the halo bolder to be the statement of the piece... he started with all the excuses as to why not change it. After him getting annoyed with me inquiring about it all, I asked if he would bolden the halo if I didn't end up liking how it came out after healing. He told me to just ask whoever did my next tattoo to "hit it again, it's not a big deal." He finally heard my concern after I talked to my friend about it- so he did end up going over the halo again for me. After this very short interaction, I was asking about maintenance and again.... Annoyed angry man reared his head. He kept saying, it's small, it's not a big deal. I asked about aquaphor and he again said I'm overthinking it. I explained that with my previous 5 tattoos I had issues with cracking/healing etc. Again I could tell he was dismissing me so I reminded him that just because this was small and meaningless to him.... It was very important for me and my Mom who I lost too soon. I was charged $120 for a quarter sized tattoo which was done within 5-10 min. I was ok with paying that because it was a very special addition that I wanted don't on a very special day while I was on vacation. The way he refused to listen from the moment we met to the moment I gave them the $120 for my 15ish minutes in the studio... disgusting. I would highly recommend not using him as an "artist" because he acted more like an angry, hungover, teenage boy who was getting paid too much for his half a** work. On the flip side- the studio was very centrally located in Ptown and they accepted walk ins so that's a plus. I just wouldn't recommend accepting Joseph as an offered person to get inked by, but I'm sure there are other artists there who are wonderful.
