What do three friends do while on vacation? Get another round of tattoos together of course!! (No not the same ones either.) Came to Ptown for some great eats and people watching and left with last min ink. Mooncusser was able to fit all 3 of us in within an hour of arriving and the work was wonderful. Artists were friendly and the space is extremely clean, with areas for non-tattooed friends to wait and watch too. They do have a shop minimum of $100 and since two of us wanted simple line, black and white pieces, it was a bit of a bummer. This is only considering that if we had been at a home shop, each one would probably have been $65 tops. But oh well, you gotta live and fly free so we did it anyway and we all love our new additions :) read more

I was so excited for my best friend and I to get our nostrils pierced here after looking over Instagram and their reviews. We were told by the girls at the front that their apprentice was great at nostrils. We decided to give it a try since we've got a lot of piercings and some were from apprentices. Bitzi, the apprentice assured us she had mastered the nostril. She took us to the back and was not overseen by a piercer - which we've never experienced before. S The piercing itself went fine but almost immediately mine became pussy and painful and refuses to heal correctly. It is also lower than the original spot and I'm going to have to get it repierced. My best friends is in the same boat - pus, low, bumps, etc. also, they are in a tourist town and only accept cash. I gave two stars bc the tattoo artists seem very talented and the customer service was pretty good. read more

I've wanted a tattoo on my wrist for sometime now and finally bit the bullet a couple weeks ago. I was fortunate to be able to get an appointment while I was down in Ptown with family for a few days. The studio was clean and the Covid19 check-in process was handled professionally. I know that my design isn't the most difficult or detailed, but its permanent (obviously) and highly visible, so its always a bit worrisome when you commit to getting one. My friend and I decided on getting cartilage piercings while we were i town for the weekend. We met Clinton at the shop, who was absolutely awesome. Incredibly knowledgeable about sanitization practices in general and explained exactly what they did internally (and why). I went to Mooncusser last night for a Penis piercing. Being 65 yo and never having done anything of the sort, of course I was as nervous as could be! The staff was just beyond wonderful, from the woman whom I made the appointment with over the phone and who greeted us on arrival, to Joe, who did the actual piercing. I got a Frenum piercing and I am just delighted with it! I wanted to do this for years and finally bit the bullet. I can't recommend Joe enough. He was just so calm and calming to me. I was told that Josh was really into video gaming and he would be the one to see. DON'T LET THEM TOUCH YOU. I've regretted it everyday for four months now. 1) I wanted all small tattoos, but "they couldn't do them that smal and still get all the detail". So now they're all 3x bigger than I wanted. 2) I wanted my Cross to be silver-grey. Joseph said "this black color will fade in a couple daye into grey"... four months later and I'm still waiting. How hard is putting grey ink into the tattoo machine? Basics 101 I would think... 2) The mountains on my bicep were supposed to have purple-ish shadowing to it. Nope, just grey shadows. 3) BIG ONE: My husband and I wanted identical lighthouses. My husband got his done first, with red stripes, like we wanted. When Joseph drew out what I wanted, he filled it in with RED sharpie on the paper, and said "this is what you want, right?" And I said "yes, identical to my husband's", figuring he would do it IDENTICAL. Nope. My lighthouse is ALL BLACK. When Joseph was done with mine, I looked and said "will this fade into red?" And he was shocked and said he didn't know I wanted red??? I said "oh never mind" because I was in such shock and didn't know what else to say, because now I have a permanent black tattoo on my back And what's done is done? 4) THEY CAN'T FOLLOW BASIC COLOR INSTRUCTIONS. They don't have the capabilities or skill to do small tattoos. They've ruined my body and there's nothing I can do about it. read more

What started off as looking at new jewelry ended up with me getting another piercing. One piece of jewelry (price wise) equated to a new piercing (including jewelry) so I took the plunge and chose the latter. The piercer was able to pierce me right then and there. It hurt far more as it wasn't done with forceps but I'm shocked at how well it has healed. I look forward to getting a tattoo there next time I'm in town. read more

After my awful experience at Coastline Tattoo (see previous review), I walked into this shop expecting similar customer service (aka: awful) ...boy was I wrong. The girl at the front desk was extremelyyyy friendly. i showed her my idea and everything was going great...until they had no appointments available that day. she said she'd call me if someone freed up, i lost hope....but in less than 10 minutes she called to say they could fit me in in a half hour. Amazing. The tattoo artist Sean was awesome. So friendly and professional. He let my friend sit right next to us and watch and even asked for her input on the design. The entire process was very quick; the owner came over and talked with us the entire time. Both Sean and the owner had great senses of humor and made me feel extremely comfortable. I even asked if he would do a small small design on my other arm when he finished, and he didn't mind. They offered to touch up the tattoo any time, and asked us to come back and say hi whenever we were in town. Also, he charged me the shop minimum which was awesome, since I asked for another tattoo last minute. Overall, we had an amazing experience at Mooncusser. They were friendly and funny, made us feel so comfortable and (unlike Coastline) were not condescending about the tattoo design and concept. The head guy (not to name names) that is year round cannot spell for his life. I was getting a previous tattoo that was done there touched up because a few of the letters fell out due to the difficult space. I tried to get this fixed but I will have to go over it... Too much small town drama, trashing customers behind their backs and constant beef with other tattoo artists in town. I have been a resident on the Cape for periods of years for the past 15 years. I got my nipples pierced two and a half weeks ago and I could tell something was wrong. Went to a shop in Somerville, MA and within two seconds they told me I needed to take both of them out. They were pierced too deep and the exit hole on one of them wasn't even on the nipple itself, but the areola. Very upset that I payed $130 for a job that wasn't done well. read more

I came in as a walk in with my friend, and was greeted immediately by someone (who was on his break) explaining that someone would be right with us. This was an immediate hint that they know what theyre doing. The woman at the desk was super kind and helpful and the paperwork process did not take long. My tattoo artist was great! Very confident , friendly, and chatty, which helped ease the nerves while he did my tattoo. He understood the importance of making it exactly the way I wanted. I let him use his own opinion with some coloring and am extremely pleased with his work. He wasnt a regular artist there, but was visiting from Kentucky (I believe) at the time. His work healed very well and looks beautiful after having it for two months. My friend also got a nostril piercing at the same time. the piercer was quick, kind, and just plain good. Her nose has had no infections and looks great! Definitely a great place for walk ins, or even a place to stop in for information if you're considering getting a tattoo, they're very helpful. I went down the Cape yesterday for a little memorial day action. It was quite busy... I decided that I was in the mood for a new tattoo. I walked in to Mooncusser with an idea of what I wanted. Kristian and Shane were both very helpful and even though it was SUPERBUSY, Kristian fit me in in less then a half an hour. Since I've gotten a tattoo before I knew exactly what to expect but that didn't stop Kristian from telling me that "we could take a break at any time." I got a new tattoo done at Mooncusser on my birthday this past weekend. I came in with a picture of what I basically wanted and they altered it perfectly! No wait, they got started right away and I was under the needle in about 15 minutes. For a relatively small tattoo it was more pricey than I had expected, but I guess that can be blamed on the detailing... which is lovely, however there are one or two spots that could have used a bit more attention. I blame this on the fact that the artist didn't work with very much lighting, which surprised me. All in all I'm very pleased with the work they did. One thing that did annoy me was that one of the other artists made a snarky comment about the fact that I was getting an anchor tattoo... everyone else there was friendly and great though!
