From the consultation and checking what my insurance covered, to communication with the front desk and the day of my surgery, everything was organized and professional. The feeling of something wanting to come out of your tooth, there comes a point you probably think you are going crazy from the throbbing, sleepless nights.. you get the idea. My husband ended up waking up with a swollen cheek (I was like you eating too many tacos) being the stubborn guy he is he still went to work. The follow day there was no way he was going to be talking to anyone other then me, without someone telling him "dude there's something wrong with your face". He took the day off to fight the pain off (mexican remedies) but he gave up and came across Dr. Marchetti's office who mind you had the patience of him having to keep calling bc there was static ? happening. I'm surprised they didn't just give up on him lol anyways he explained his discomfort and they were able to squeeze him in. Once he was there he was greeted and was not shamed for taking so long to have this matter taken care of. The front office and back office teamed up to ensure he did not leave the office without alleviating some pain. Options and plans were given to him. The doctor dismisses any periodontal needs or orthodontic needs prior to treating areas that need space to work with and speaks negatively of those who do recommend them. Instead they will try and convince you that you don't need essential periodontal treatments and will ignore any concern you bring up about needing to straighten teeth. I don't know if they don't specialize in those or maybe there's faster money to be made. It This is important to note because if you call an orthodontist they may not see you without the recommendation of a dentist. Luckily I found a dentist who treated my mouth holistically. I learned that when these concerns aren't addressed you run the risk of complications if a subsequent dentist finds these necessary after cosmetic work is already completed.

Don't bother going here for emergencies. I called a week ago and told them I think I need a root…read morecanal and that I was in severe pain. I made an appointment and took a day off of work to get my issues taken care of. During my exam the dentist says... Yes I think you may need a root canal. (this I already know and explained to them a week ago on the phone). He then says I will need to refer you out to my root canal specialist. I'm like what? You already know I waited a week and I'm in pain. So they attempt to make an appointment for two days from now. I reply I can't do that, I already took off work to get this done today. So the specialist who is 30 minutes away says ok we can see him. So now I drive to another city to see the specialist only to be told it would cost me $126 just for a consultation... No work on my teeth would be done The work would be scheduled out another week or so because the specialist was going on vacation. Needless to say this type of customer service is unexceptable. I was never told on the phone during the initial call that if in fact I needed a root canal I would get referred out to a specialist. Had I known this I would have made other choices to get my exam. I am beyond frustrated and still in pain with nothing done to fix the issue. I work six days a week in San Francisco ( which is a 2 1/2 hour commute), so my time is valuable. I hope that everyone reads the comment by the dentist in response to my review. There was no confusion on my part. I never named this dentist, I simply said dentist. It happened in his office and there still is no accountability to the breakdown of communication. I simply put that had I known that I would be referred out, I would have checked other avenues. Maybe this is the way care dentistry works but I was never afforded that. It really demonstrates that lack of empathy he has for people. I also agree with him on one thing... I never met him. But I never said I did. It was his office and it was a different dentist. However when someone calls the front desk and describes there symptoms etc. I have had root canals before and told them I think this is what it is. My former dentist did everything in house including the procedure, so that is my experience. It really comes down to just explaining procedurely what to expect if it was a root canal situation. I probably would have came in anyway knowing that because that is the practice of care dentistry. I too feel bad. I feel bad that the dentist takes no accountability for people he employs or things that happen in HIS office. I truly thought I might get some contact where we could have had dialog but instead it's just an example of my experience. I understand he is well established and I hope this was an isolated incident.
