Suave Dental in Riverbank is the best I've ever been to for dental work. Dr. Capote Cabrera is the best! I have had a few root canals there and I have never felt pain with him. He is very gentle and considerate as well as the dental assistant always checking with me during the procedures to make sure that I'm okay with a thumbs up. To be afraid to go to the dentist because of always having mostly bad experiences in my life time, I have finally been relieved of the suffering I've had to endure with my dental journey. Firstly I had no expectations I usually assume the worst so I'm not affected by the bad news, but WOW the staff here was exceptionally the best I've ever experienced, Alissa at the front desk was beyond informative and professional she thoroughly explained the reasonings for everything I needed done and I was actually able to gain an understanding from her as well as her giving other options in case the first options didn't work, she was able to get all my dental work approved through my insurance because she is so great at what she does, she made me cry tears of joy and relief because no dental office has ever did what she did for me and to find out it was that simple and other dental offices just didn't care and wanted money it was just a sense of relief I didn't know I could experience. I needed a lot of crucial work done and they were able to get the ball rolling almost immediately. Now of course no one wants to get dental work done it's scary and can be nerve-racking but my experiences however were not! I was actually looking forward to all of my dental appointments with Dr. Capote he is very gentle & reassuring during the procedures along with his dental assistant their professionalism is top tier, my teeth are looking great and I am no longer in pain. Apparently, there is this bullshit policy about nobody but patients being allowed in the lobby due to "limited space", despite the fact that there is at least a couple hundred square feet of waiting area. I am one who has to be really impressed in order to go out of my way to write a review. Dr. Momani is by far the best medical professional I had ever encountered. I went to see Dr. Momani to save my smile. Years ago I had veneers installed on my two front teeth by another dentist. Horrifically the veneers fell off several times. Dr. Momani recommended crowns to replace them. I was hesitant at first because I was worried that my smile would not look natural. I just left the office and must say they look exceptional. My first visit to Momani was awful. The receptionist insulted me by asking me if the appointment was for my daughter (it was my sister, who is 3 years younger). The woman who took x-rays was awesome, but the receptionist and Dr. Momani have no sense of tact or compassion whatsoever. When Momani came in, he recommended a root canal for a broken filling that absolutely did NOT need a root canal, then left the room immediately after I told him I was a full-time student. I've never been treated so rudely in my life. Then when I tried to get a second opinion, the receptionist was very curt about it, as if I wasn't entitled to a second opinion. She told me over the phone that I needed to get the other dentist's special x-ray email address and to call her back (most receptionists do that for you, that being their job and all), but I did as she asked and two minutes later, I called her back, but the line just said they were closed. They had only been open for an hour, and I had just called two minutes prior, so I tried again and again. Then I tried with another phone, suspecting she had blocked my number, and SHE WAS QUITE SURPRISED TO HEAR FROM ME. Yes, she blocked my house phone number. In the end, she never sent those x-rays. TL;DR: Receptionist is a see you next tuesday, and Dr. Momani only cares about making money off of unnecessary dental work. I went to Dr. Bell, who is not only a more capable dentist but a compassionate human being with an amazing staff. He immediately smoothed the jagged edge of the broken tooth that had been cutting into the back of my tongue for months without even being told that it was unbearably sharp. ***PLEASE READ ALL OF IT, THEY ARE SCAMMERS*** My mother's experience with this dental office has been by far the worst customer service she has gotten. The dentist and supervisor are by far the most rudest and ignorant people that someone can talk to. Back in December my mother went in to get two bottom teeth pulled out since she was in major pain. Needles to say the doctor went in saw that my mother had a certain type of denture and proceed to say "all your teeth are rotten and I need to pull them all out" without them being lose or affected. I told him that is not what she wants at the moment and just need those certain teeth pulled out. He got so mad cause we did not want to follow his "suggestion" but said fine we'll take it out but everything needs to go and shes going to pay double cause I know shes going to come back complaining about the other teeth." I shrugged my shoulders and said its her decision and she is aware but does not want to. He left the room frustrated and didn't come back until 40 min later and tried to pull her teeth when I specifically told him that she felt the medication had worn off. He got even more frustrated cause my mom was saying "no it hurts". He got the needle to put more numbing medication but at that point you can notice the frustration and did everything very rough and made my mom scream and cry in pain and while she was scream to stop he did not listen and didn't even let the medication kick in when he yanked it out making her cry in agony and all he said "see it wasn't so bad" I said you hurt her and she was saying to stop. He didn't care and left but came back minute later still trying to convince her to get the others pulled. I asked him how much it would cost for all of that since we did not have allot of money. He said oh just alittle bit, roughly $10,000! I laughed and said wow we definitly don't have that she just needs the partial dentures and thats it. He stayed for 10 min trying to convince us even showing us images from google and I said no just partial for the moment. He got frustrated and said "fine if that's what she wants" and before he left I asked for reassurance that the dentures would be made to her comfort and he said yes if not you'll get your money back for that portion he even guaranteed to have them done in less than 3 weeks and I agreed and signed the paperwork. Well 3 weeks passed and nothing it took them 2 1/2 months to be able to make it and I asked why so long if he had said 3 weeks and the ladies just kept on saying "no the doctor would never say that". Fast forward the dentures where not made to her comfort and she tried them out for 2 weeks and they made her bleed and unable to eat. She went in 3 times before they told her they couldn't fix them anymore and she had to take them the way they where and had to get used to them. I told them that was not the deal we had agreed to and the proceed to shake things off and say they would talk to headquarters about the problem and see if they could give us a refund and they would call us when they heard something. Then they shut down for two months due to COIVD and they didn't even let us know! We waited it out and when they finally opened up they still continued to say they had no idea what was going on needed more time. My mom finally called them today and the supervisor said "we will not be giving you back your money since we do not give refunds." My mom argued with her and mentioned about putting a law suit against them for scamming her and wasting her time and all she said is "that is fine do whatever you want that does not scare us they won't do anything to us." She had no compassion or cared to have wasted my mother's time. She was very unprofessional and ignorant. PLEASE do not waste your time or money on them when in reality all the dentist cares about is how much money he can make out of his patients and if you don't do what he says he gets rude, frustrated and unprofessional. read more

I'm here because I want to give everyone an update of my situation and what poor management of an office to me looks like! I've been needing a root canal don't on my tooth since September and that's when I decided to come back to the dentist. At the time my biggest priority was getting my fillings done because I wasn't having problems with the tooth. I was also waiting because the root canal needed approval which is what I was waiting on. Time went by, fillings got done and it's now December. Since I had my other dental work done I wanted to next get my root canal fixed and out of the way. The office manager said she would personally look into it, she did not know why it was taking so long etc. I never got follow ups from her... she never called me, the assistants didn't call me, no one did. I then called them to get updates only to be told okay well we can only leave a message and have someone check if the authorization went through.... never got a follow up call, this was back in January. Moving forward to February, I called the office multiple times. Told them that I was having trouble eating and at this point I told them I can no longer chew food on the right side of my mouth. It would hurt if there was any pressure on the tooth and it was super sensitive to hot or cold foods. I called the office again, told them about my problems and again told me "okay well call about the authorization and give u a call back... AGAIN NEVER GOT A CALL BACK!!!!!!!! Moving forward to March now, KEEP IN MIND THAT NOW ITS BEEN ABOUT AT LEAST 6 MONTH!!!! I was eating when all of a sudden I bit on the wrong side of my mouth. It hurt like ever time so I ignored it. However, this time it was different. About an hour later I got a extremely painful and sharp pain out of no where in the tooth. It was so unbearable that I can still feel the pain and the throbbing of the tooth after taking 800 mg of ibuprofen. I went to the Modesto office and they told me that I had gotten an infection on the tooth. This is now the second one I've had on the same tooth now and still nothing has been done. They gave me meds and told me to call back to see when to get work done on the tooth. Now moving forward to today! I've been calling and telling them that work needs to get done. However, now I am worried and scared that my tooth has gotten so bad that I feel like it will have to be pulled out. I MIGHT LOSE MY TOOTH BECAUSE OF POOR OFFICE MANAGEMENT!! It is not my fault that it's taking so long to get work done on the tooth. The office manager over in riverbank was just giving me excuses that she took the office after the old office manager left. Okay, I get it but do your job. Now I might have to get my tooth pulled out idk and probably will have to pay for something that should not be done in the first place. I have a feeling that I will now have to pay more out of pocket because people do not know how to do their job!!! I called Dental-cal to see what in the heck has been going on with everything and oh was I extremely surprised at what they had to tell me! THE ROOT CANAL WAS AUTHORIZED BACK IN DECEMBER!!!!!! What is wrong with you people. I might lose a tooth because of all this, I might have to pay more out of pocket because of the mistakes of people. I should not be responsible for the horrible job of others. I'm not one to write review and evaluate people on their jobs, I get it it's hard for everyone... BUT ARE U SERIOUS, ITS BEEN AUTHORIZED SINCE DECEMBER AND THE PEOPLE WORKING DIDNG EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT. At this point I don't think anyone at the Riverbank office is doing anything. This however does not apply to all, there is one assistant that recognized me because of where I work and she moved to the Modesto brand and she has been an amazing help and even she agreed that this is ridiculous when I call a while back. I was here yesterday with my wife and as soon as we walked in I already loved the place. The staff is super nice and the office is really clean and welcoming. We come from western dental so this was a major upgrade. I didn't get the name of the dentist who helped my wife with her tooth extraction but he was such a good dentist and very nice and respectful. I called on Dec. 21st because my front tooth cracked. I had never been seen there, but my husband is a patient there. Surprisingly, they were able to get me in on Friday, Dec. 23rd! I have problems with pain and dentists and do not go as often as I should, so I knew I would need a crown because the filling in this tooth has been loose for several years. Needless to say, I was very nervous, but I didn't need to be. He was fantastic! Instead of doing a patch job, he fit me in to go ahead and do the crown prep and impressions right after the initial examination and x-rays, so I was able to enjoy the holidays without the worry of a temporary filling and a visit to do the drilling and prep right after Christmas. The shot was pretty much painless (which in the front of your mouth is amazing), as was all the work he did drilling and preparing the teeth for the crown. He repeatedly asked if I was doing ok, and could not have been nicer and more gentle and reassuring. His entire staff is friendly and put me at ease, from the receptionist to the x-ray tech to the hygienist. I am very happy he was on the list for Delta Dental and I plan to continue going to him. My teeth will now be in much better shape, as the "dental fear factor" has been eliminated! read more

The staff and dentist are very nice and the office is clean and peaceful. They get you in very fast as well. My only issue is the quote I received for my crown which didn't line up with what my insurance quoted causing me to question some things. I will be trying to sort this out but I do feel a little uneasy at this point. Also they refer you out so don't expect to be getting your root canal done here. The upside to that is the specialist I went to was A+++ so friendly and fastest root canal I ever received!!!! They did over charge me by 75 dollars as well on the copayment......will be sorting that out too. read more

My review is solely based on my wait and the xray tech since that's as far as I've gotten so far. My appointment was at 1pm it's not 2:20 and still have yet to see dentist. It was a good 45 minutes before I was even called back for xrays. The xray tech was super awkward.. no people skills whatsoever. Not to mention she looked me up and down about 3 times at my tattoos I almost had to ask her if there was an issue. I've been coming to Suave Dental for several years. The staff is always friendly and professional, making me feel comfortable and relaxed as soon as I walk in the door. Dr. Momani is awesome and is truly genuine in his care and concern for his patient(s). I am a very nervous patient and he and his staff are exceptional in making me feel comfortable and not nervous during my visit, even if it's just a cleaning! During my last visit, I overheard the receptionist having a conversation over the phone with someone that obviously had an emergency and wasn't a patient of Suave. She spoke with Dr. Momani and they were able to get this person in within the hour. Oh, and it was a Friday as well!! Talk about customer service! I really hate giving bad reviews, but I feel like I should. I'm giving two stars instead of one because the people who work here are nice for the most part. I had fillings done here and was told that I would need more work done for my next appointment. To make a long story short, I had a lot of pain after I received fillings from a dentist at Suave. A month later, the pain continued and I chose to go to a different dentist. My new dentist went over my X-rays and he said one particular filling was very close to my nerve, which was causing me a lot of pain. That one filling has turned into a root canal procedure. The other fillings, which were causing me pain as well, were so messed up that the new dentist had to redo them. I even saw in the X-ray that the fillings looked very jagged and messy. Now, those fillings do not cause me pain. I know these things can happen. However, a Suave dentist told me I would need to have more fillings done in the next month or two. My new dentist looked at my teeth/X-rays and said he didn't see anything wrong, no cavities or any need to do more work. Ever since my new dentist, I have had no problems with my teeth. read more
