Been hearing good things about this restaurant and finally put it on our bucket list for tonight. Erica provided very attentive and friendly service. The restaurant is large with lots of seating plus bar seating. Food, specials. Pork Osa bucco normally over mashed but had their excellent tasting pasta with garlic oil. Pork was large and excellent. Spouse had their filet marsalla over mashed. Also excellent. Greens Kennedy with potatoes were good but could have been served hotter. Menu is large. Convenient parking lot. Will return. read more

Pros- can't think of a single thing I liked. Cons- we went to Michael Ts for an early Father's Day dinner and I couldn't be more disappointed! To start, the fried ravioli was bland and barely had any cheese inside. Then, they were out of the entree I wanted (Prime Rib). Instead I ordered the Filet Mignon. Not only was it over-cooked (I ordered medium and got well) but it was so where near the size they advertise. I eat very clean and weigh all of my portions so I can quickly eyeball what 9 oz looks like and what I was served as only 6.5 oz at the very best. Next, the server was passive aggressive and sarcastic. Overall, this was a terrible experience and I was never go back! read more

Another great meal at Michael T's restaurant. This time opted for the haddock special. We were seated at our choice of table, drinks ordered while we looked over the menu... the special board had Haddock or Chicken Piccata. Bar was fairly full but dining room sparsely filled as it was early so the noise level was pretty low. Ordered the Haddock Piccata and it was beautifully plated with capers and artichoke hearts. Flavors were great - not heavy but just really dang good. Highly recommended trying this and I know I'll definitely order it if it's a special again. read more

During the late summer this restaurant was offering take out only, and doing some fabulous family meal deals, so we decided to take advantage. We went for the Chicken Riggies meal which came with Utica Greens, salad, and bread! We also tried to snag some of their desert special, Spumoni cheesecake. After placing our order by phone we hung up. The nice gentleman realized afterwards they were out of the dessert, felt bad, and gave us a free order of their fried Ravioli appetizer! Pickup and easy and quick and the staff was super nice! This was quite the value. The pictures dont do the quantities justice! We got more than enough food for 3 people to have multiple meals! Id say these are my new favorite RIggies and greens! The salad was crisp and high quality with dressing that was perfect. The bread was fresh and hot. The ravioli were the right amount of crispy and came with good dipping sauce. If I personally still lived in the area, id be ordering this once a week! We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding here the night before our big day. The owner and the bartender were incredible. The food was phenomenal, and our guests kept talking about it all night. They had a special room reserved just for us! We would recommend this place to anyone looking to host an event. I used to live in the area and always enjoyed going to Michael T's for a great meal. Having moved away 10 years ago I wasn't sure what to expect on a recent trip to the area. Great news ! Besides decor change the place still is as fantastic as my first visit. What was surprising to me was the same waitress is still there as was the bartender. Dave (bartender) is I think the best bartender in NY State. Hard to believe but he remembered my drink of choice. I am very impressed by his memory but even more his skill at making the perfect drink. I was so impressed that my favorite dish was even better than I recall . Michael is truly a Master in the kitchen. Everything we ordered was fantastic and there was only praise from are group of 8. I challenge you to go try his food and if your not 200% satisfied let me know. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

I've been to this restaurant twice now, let me just say that the prices are really low for an Italian restaurant. Their tomato sauce is really delicious, and the sauce that comes with the Risotto Bites is amazing. Now, the downsides of this restaurant. The first time I visited my table ordered the Risotto Bites and when they came to our table the centers were cold. The most recent visit we tried to give them another try, but the centers were still cold. The Risotto Bites are also very flavorless and only taste good with the sauce. The grilled chicken is flat and seems frozen, and the chicken parm also has the same problem. Still, for the price the food is okay. read more

I am not writing this hoping it will have a negative effect on the restaurant, in fact I hope they will fix whatever was changed and I can go back to ordering my greens from here! I have been going to Michael T's for 20 years and I have never ever had a bad meal. The greens, chicken riggies, chicken parm, chicken supreme, fish, you could not ever go wrong. I visited the restaurant earlier this year with family and friends and ordered Greens Trunfio, and they did not taste anything like they used to. I figured it was just a bad batch and thoroughly enjoyed my entree. Whenever greens are being ordered for an occasion, I never hesitate to order from Michael T's. So this week, even though the last batch wasn't great, I was hoping to recieve the same delicious Michael T's greens I've been eating forever, and unfortunately that was not the case. They do not have as much flavor, they're much more wet, and they just do not taste like Michael T's greens. All family and friends agreed as they questioned where I got them from, and did not even believe it was truly Michael T's until I showed them my receipt. I will continue to go here as the rest of the food is truly phenomenal, but I am so upset as this was the only spot I ever visited/ordered from for greens. read more

I love Michael T's. For about five years, I lived in Utica, surviving on Utica greens, chicken riggies, and tomato pies. I deeply miss the food, so whenever we're back in town we head over to Michael T's. Their Utica greens are the best I've had. Full of peppers, breadcrumbs, and flavor, the huge portion is enough to share and bring home for leftovers! The chicken riggies are also outstanding. Creamy and seasoned perfectly, with just the right amount of spice and, again, huge portions (it's a trend here). The atmosphere is friendly and warm, and I always look forward to returning "home" to Michael T's when I'm back in the Utica area. read more

I have been going to Michael T's for years dating back to when Michael sr was the owner. I have eaten Italian food all over the world and I can say the dishes prepared here are as flavorful as any food I have had. The main dishes I love are Chicken A La Anne Marie and Chicken a la trunfio. My mom has always been a huge fan of their fish. And of course, being in Utica, the chicken riggies are great! (Their greens are spectacular for a starter.) The portions are wonderful and only outmatched by the hospitality. I no longer live near New Hartford, but I make a point of visiting Michael T's when ever I am back. Great food and wonderful people! read more

In any other part of the country, Michael T's would most likely be the best Italian food for miles. Unfortunately, there is a much higher standard for Italian food in the Utica-Rome area, and Michael T's can't compete with Georgio's or Ventura's or any of the dozens of other Italian restaurants. Alarm bells started going off when I looked at the menu and it had advertisements in it. I'll start with the Carbone Dealership please. And can I get I get the Aspen Dental as an appetizer? Bizarre. The prices are the same as any other Italian restaurant, so there's no incentive to go to save money. It has a diner feel to it. I wasn't over the moon about the service. So onto the food... We started off with the Kennedy greens which was certainly the best part of the meal. It's greens with potatoes, and they were excellent. I ordered regular chicken riggies as my entree. They tasted like any other riggie dish, but the chicken wasn't seasoned. All in all, it was a fine experience but it wasn't anything to write home about and there are a ton of other restaurants that are much better for the same price. I wish I could give 2 1/2 stars, so I'll round up. read more

Michael T's Restaurant never disappoints. The service is great. David, behind the bar, is always friendly and helpful. The owner always comes out and asks how the food is. Tonight we got take out and it was still piping hot when we got home. I had the veal and my wife had her usual seafood visalli. They were both delicious. The greens had just the right amount of kick. And the portions are large enough that you will have leftovers. We will definitely be returning. read more

My boyfriend thought this place was terrible but I honestly thought it wasn't that bad. I had the shrimp scampi dish and I thought it was pretty good, at least the angel hair. My boyfriend had the chicken riggies but it's hard to judge a place by their riggies because a lot of people don't make them the same or can't make them period. It's a quite small Italian spot but I honestly don't think it's that bad. Not anything that will blow you out of the water but I'd go here again if we were in the area. read more

I would not recommend eating there. We were a group of eight and there were not many people in the restaurant at 5 PM but the service was slow. The food was less than spectacular. My wife ordered grilled chicken with garlic and lemon. The chicken filets were so thin and there was no lemon or garlic on it. The waitress brought her extra sauce but all it was was butter. She had ordered a small with Italian dressing but got a salad with balsamic vinegar dressing. Another person ordered shrimp scampi but there was so few shrimp and they were small. I ordered Greens Trunfio which was suppose to have meat in it. I didn't find any meat at all. They had a bar but it seemed we could only get limited service and selection. read more

BEWARE if you are considering booking this venue for a private event. They messed ours up from start to finish and were absolutely unapologetic and disrespectful. My family and I booked a room for my father's memorial/celebration of life party. It was HORRIBLE. I am going to highlight just a few of the things that went wrong. A few family members went to the venue early to set up. Michael T's had us set up in the general public restaurant area instead of the private room we contracted. These family members didn't know about the private room so they set up our slideshow equipment, guest book, flowers, etc. and started cleaning (yes, CLEANING! - the tables and chairs were filthy from the previous night's service). When the room error was realized, we had to scramble to move all of our stuff downstairs (that was also filthy), set up tables, and move all of the food. It was awful. Some of our guests had to wait in the parking lot for us to finish. Also, we contracted a cash bar that was not even set up. Then, the icing on the cake - after the event, they charged our credit card an extra $230 (without authorization or discussion) for a made-up charge. They ultimately refunded it but said it was only out of respect for the people who referred us. What? How about an apology for the unwarranted charge - not to mention all of the hassles?!! This was an extremely difficult situation made worse by embarrassing accommodations, poor preparation, and incompetence by Michael T's management. read more

Wife ordered the raviolis, I ordered the seafood platter. Her raviolis were ice cold inside so she sent them back to be recooked. They came back in about 3 minutes, obviously heated in a microwave. One bite and she spit it out. She asked me to taste them and i also spit the disgusting mushy mess in my napkin. We asked the waitress to bring them back to the kitchen and have the chef taste them. All she said was "want some spaghetti or something instead, in a sarcastic voice. The seafood platter was good but very skimpy. Never again. read more

The food and service were excellent.The Chicken Francese was made the Italian way (ie chicken breasts with an egg flour coating were pan fried in a lemon sherry butter mixture) with two sides.
