    Grandma slice

Tried a few slices for lunch here. I tried the grandma square slice first. It was alright. A little bit doughy for me. I probably would not get again. I also tried a slice with meatballs and that was delicious. This place is very nice inside and it was busy so you know the locals love it. This place is also is a full restaurant with a large menu of Italian food. I would go back if I'm ever in small town of Ilion again.

Great selection on lunch menu, food was great. Seated quickly. Generous portions. Kids meals were good & included beverage. Pizza was good & I loved my salad.

We arrived less than 30 minutes before closing after a long drive from Cooperstown. Our purpose for dining here was to try a riggie, which is apparently a cult food item in this area. We ordered a cold antipasto and a vodka riggie to share. Thank goodness we decided to share because the portions were enormous. The large platter of antipasto was bulked up with iceberg lettuce and mixed with a sprinkling of sliced olives, two pickled peppers, a few slices of tomatoes, red bell peppers and pepperoni. The Italian dressing came on the side, as requested. We could not make a dent in the iceberg lettuce but managed to pick off the other ingredients. Then the riggie arrived. The creamy, tomatoey rigatoni came in a basin large enough to bathe a newborn. They brought an extra basin for us to divide the pasta between us. The riggies were cooked perfectly and the faintly sweet tomato cream sauce was delicious. I cannot imagine how two persons, let alone one person could polish off this enormous dish in one sitting. But portion size aside, the riggies hit all the marks for comfort food.

We are so happy to have stumbled upon this place during our travels. The service was amazing. Driving from Buffalo, NY to Bennington, VT, this was an amazing find. We arrived with 10min left on their lunch specials. There were only a handful of patrons in the restaurant, but otherwise it was relatively quiet. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the conversation with her. Now the food was amazing!!! I would love to have this restaurant in Las Vegas. But, let me tell you. There is nothing like this there. The garlic bread was seeping with garlic and butter. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was thick and stuck to the food. The cream sauce was tasty. Chicken was flavorful. I hope we get to come back one day. This was quite possibly our best meal for our entire trip.

I often dine here when in town visiting family. I find the quality of the food to be consistent, the portions are generous, and the service is pretty good most of the time. All of these things are true for our visit last evening. I dined with my 89 year old grandfather and my mom. My grandfather often takes a long time to place his order, but he was on fire last night and opted for the eggplant Parmesan. My mother selected the ravioli, but with sauce on the side due to diet restrictions. I cashed in on the Wednesday special: $10.99 chicken riggies. All our entrées included bread and a choice of soup or salad. Grandpa and Mom opted to start with salads and I chose pasta fagioli. My mom ordered her salad without onions so she was slightly salty when it arrived with onions. Additionally, she felt there should've had been additional ingredients. She picked the onions off and requested cheese and croutons. Grandpa had zero complaints and went to town with his salad. My cup of soup was delicious and it was paired with a package of oyster crackers. Our server was very efficient and visited throughout our meal to be sure we were satisfied. Our bread was plentiful. Grandpa raved about the garlic bread and Mom and I were content with plain bread and butter. The whipped butter = delicious! Grandpa's eggplant parm was a generous portion and he packed 1/2 or more to enjoy for lunch today which he did. ;) Apparently, he's not a lover of cheese so he felt the cheese was excessive. I beg to differ, it looked superb! Mom wasn't disappointed nor excited with her meal, but in all fairness cheese ravioli is a bit boring. I, on the other hand, LOVED my chicken riggies. I ordered these with sweet peppers and enjoyed them more than when prepared with hot peppers. The portion was huge! I was famished from traveling all day and still only put a dent in half. Grandpa will more than likely enjoy my leftovers too. All in all, this was another pleasurable dining experience. I will continue to visit when in town. Thank you to our sever for her kindness and willingness to assist my Grandfather as we departed the restaurant. Much appreciation~

I have been coming to this location for several years now. The food is usually pretty good standard menu for pizza shop/Italian restaurant. The riggies are good and you get big portions any way back to last nights visit. They were not super busy on the restaurant side not sure about take out. We arrived around 5:30pm. We're seated right away. Waitress took our drink orders and they came back pretty quickly. She gave us time to order. Then the wheels fell off the wagon. Typically they bring out this delicious garlic bread, which they did with our soups but there was just this smear of half melted idk what on the bread so I passed and didn't finish eating it. I order the French onion soup it was ok. Kinda greasy not sure if it was from the mozzarella cheese on top or? I usually order riggies decided to try the Alfredo with broccoli and chicken. Our meals took forever I'm hoping they were prepared fresh cause it was a wait! The sauce was thick good amounts of chicken and broccoli but it was just ok. We get boxes to go which we had asked for early in the evening when the food came out. Sat and waited for those. Gave her my card for payment and again waited while she ran around with my credit card. I normally probably would have given 4 stars but the service for a not so busy night was not great.

Those that follow understand I do not just throw out 5 star reviews. However, if you find yourself traveling through the quaint town that used to be the Mecca of firearms production of Illion, NY I recommend you stop for the best pizza you will ever have. In fact stopping here has helped regain my faith in the classic pizza that our country has seem to ruin over time. The two key ingredients are the dough and sauce marina or gravy like my grandparents call it. The dough is light and flavorful and you can taste the flower off the crispy bottom crust of your pizza. I recommend the upside down, because you get a fanatic taste from each bite of their marina that is light and bursting with flavor. Another thing you will notice is that each bite starts with a crunch from the crust and develops into a jubilee of taste from the creamy mozzarella to the doughy middle to the marina on top. I sat in my chair thinking about what just happened to me after eating this Soerrentos pizza and I can honestly say their upside down pizza is the best I have ever had in my entire life .

Our family that lives here chose Sorrento's for a family lunch get together and wow what a pick!! We're from Long Island and eat a lot of Italian food and there's no shortage of great pizza and pasta. Sorrento's was right up there with the best of our favorites at home. Every single thing we tried was great! If you want a great Authentic Italian food then definitely eat here.

This restaurant is a locals favorite, and even when it's large enough, there could be a wait. Warmly decorated and clean. Our server was very sweet and efficient. They have an extensive menu. The Utica greens are a great starter, or a good side dish, and they are a favorite dish for the patrons. The eggplant Rollatini is very differenly prepared, as it is not breaded. The marinara sauce that comes over it is light, chunky and tasty.

I ordered a chicken club with bacon, my sister got her and my Dad an upside down pizza, my sis bf got chicken wings with hot sauce and we all shared from a sampler platter and garlic knots. The food was absolutely fantastic. My order was accidently given to another patron on accident and a whole new order was made. Hey, accidents happen and I purposely was calm and had no intention to adding to the service industry woes of bad customers being entitled and treating wait staff like shit during these pandemic times. The woman repeatedly apologized and my patience was rewarded as the server brought over my sandwich she said she overstuffed it, especially with bacon...so much so I only had one half of the sandwich and saved the rest for another dinner! The food was absolutely fantastic...the garlic knots, the platter and the wings got rave reviews. My Dad thought there was too much tomato sauce...can you imagine an ITALIAN saying that...my sis and her bf liked the leftover slices so to each their own In any event, the service and food were absolutely impeccable. The server was attentive and nice. I highly recommend!

I've always believed the best way to judge a pizza place is by its basic which means starting with a classic cheese pie. The cheese pizza did not disappoint. The dough was well cooked with minimal sag, striking a nice balance. The sauce-to-cheese ratio was right where it should be. The cheese had a slight stretch to it, and the sauce delivered a solid, flavorful bite that tied everything together. I also tried the chicken bacon ranch pizza. It was flavorful and satisfying, with a generous amount of bacon throughout. While I would have liked to see a bit more chicken, each slice was still a tasty combination of savory toppings and creamy ranch that made for an enjoyable bite. Overall, this place lives up to its local reputation, especially when it comes to the basics. A solid option if you're looking for well-made pizza with reliable flavors. Side note/ I do a lot of chicken wing/ bleu cheese reviews and the employee at the counter said she makes it herself each day. So I had to try it. Well I can say this bleu is a solid 6/10, it's just missing some larger chunks, the flavor profile is spot on but the pieces in it are just crumbles. While it doesn't place in my top tier , it's not far off. Next time I'm going to have to try it with some wings.
