The food was good, as well as the wine. The service was a little slow. They handled the large group well and were easy to make reservations with. The seafood wasn't very fresh but I'd definitely give them another shot. It's a fun location where there aren't many other restaurants like it!

Tried the spaghetti factory with a large group to celebrate an anniversary. The manicotti was delicious and reasonably priced. They had a good wine list as well. We got the super Tuscan blend which was very good. I enjoyed the garlic bread they brought out for the table. Service was good.

We have been coming here for my husband's birthday for the last 10 years and sadly I think this might be the last year. I know this place is under new ownership the last few years and honestly you can see and taste a difference. My husband says the food is just not the same. He always gets the spaghetti and meatballs. Also I want to note that the Caesar salad comes with an Italian Caesar so if you want creamy you will have to ask for it. However I LOVED my meal! Their eggplant parmigiana was very good and their Alfredo sauce is very good! I would recommend these dishes if you come. They do have a variety of food choices though. I usually get their crab stuffed fish but the last time I had it, it wasn't good at all so I opted to try something else. Our waitress was very nice and checked on us a lot. I honestly felt a little rushed to get out of there but that could just be me. There is plenty of seating and we were able to get a reservation last minute which was nice since this place is always usually packed. And I do like how they have outdoor seating and they do have different dining rooms that have a different ambiance/theme to each of them. I would recommend this place since I loved my food but I am not sure I would recommend the spaghetti and meatballs (per my husband).

Excellent food. Reasonable price. Very good service. The menu has a lot of choices including glutin free pasta. I highly recommend.

So while its not fine dining or the…read moreideal atmosphere (with its funny 80's plastic table covers ), Uncle J's is a wonderful representation of the small village it resides in. I enjoyed the flatbread pizza, largely due to the flatbread itself. I have noticed a large void of good pizza crust in this area and surrounding villages, so this scratched that itch. The fried pickles were bar food at its best. A crisp, spear, rendition instead of the flimsy pickle chips found in many diners. They make their own dressings and the blue cheese dressing alone will bring me back. The fries were also good, but the margaritas could use some work. The mix tastes like gatorade, so still drinkable, but if the homemade nuance from that crave-worthy blue cheese dressing could be applied, it would be a lovely elevation and bring me back more than my budget should allow. The music on Thursday at their first strings and wings was F*#$ing fantastic!! I did not catch the performers name, but folks, come with cash for tips because this artist brought his A game. Multi-genre, great guitar skills, and a fabulous voice. We sat in the dining because the bar area is a bit small for eating, but we could hear him perfectly and it made the night. This event with the crowd spread them thin and tested the kitchen, but besides a "relaxed" pace of the food coming out, there was no impact to service and everyone was lovely. We must support these local gems if we want them in our backyard. So while I will be a thorn in their side trying to push for an upgraded cocktail experience, I will also be a devout local advocating for my community to be the same. Well done Uncle J's!

Just a few barflies sitting in the front room, so we went into the dining room which was empty. Our server/bartender was very attentive and great. Guinness was properly poured too. We ordered the steak tips main and the chicken riggies main. Each came with a salad and a small loaf of bread for the whole table to share. Salads were fresh and crunchy. Bread was fresh and soft. Portions were massive and the riggies were a bit hit. The steak was overdone, but ok. The gravy on top however was an odd color and texture without much flavor other than a slight sour tang. The dish would have been better served without the gravy. In any case, we were too full for dessert.

Place is small and cozy. 2 servers and the care and attention fantastic.  Call for reservations. FOOD was and is amazing. Rigatoni Peppernotta Roasted peppers, sausage, marinara and fresh mozzarella  Shrimp Firenza Shrimp sautéed with onion, garlic, hot cherry peppers, and marinara over linguine with fontinella cheese excellent but for my taste more spice. Desserts were homemade and good. Small equals a little noisy but well worth the visit.

I now know that this unassuming restaurant has some of the friendliest staff and best prepared food in the Utica area. I can't wait to go back. With a full roster of reservations scheduled for their dining room, the four of us walked in and slotted up at the bar for dinner with front row seats to the action in the kitchen. First up: spicy and flavorful Utica greens covered in a healthy sprinkling of cheese. Would order again. After chatting with the owner, we ordered two scallop pasta dishes, a steak sandwich, and chicken Parm (which they were kind enough to make with fra diavolo sauce for my spice lord husband). EVERYTHING was impeccable, and I was honestly tempted to pick up my plate and lick it clean - that's how good the seared scallops over linguine were. Pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was light, well seasoned and well balanced (and not actually on their menu, so bonus points for being willing and able to pull that out on the fly!). In and out in about an hour, though we never felt rushed. We're looking forward to trying more apps and staying for an espresso and dessert next time!

Easy to find and plenty of street parking which made it really easy to park (right across the street.) The group I was with had the upstairs which was perfect for our meeting that turned into lunch. The downstair had a seating area along with the bar. Upstairs did not have windows but had plenty of light. Cool rustic setting which I'm noticing at a lot of the upstate restaurants. We had our meeting first then went into our buffet style lunch which worked out very nicely. Salad, sausage and peppers, eggplant and ziti. Everything was hot, tasty, fresh and plentiful. I'm always concerned about the dried out or soon to be mushy food from buffets, that was definitely not the case here. The staff here was wonderful. Even though is was buffet style we had a waitress following up with us for drinks and anything else we needed. I am glad that I had the opportunity to come here and appreciate all the hard work done by everyone. KUDOs to the team at DeSalvos.
