He is friendly and didn't seem to be rushing through the exam. He has answered all of my many questions with answers that were easy for me to understand and suggestions to help out my feet. Sometimes it is very busy and other times you can breeze right in. The lobby is small and you may find yourself sitting right next to strangers which in this day and age feels mask worthy. The billing has been normal and I haven't had any real issues at this point.

I had been diagnosed with arthritis in 1987, but had not pursued professional care for my bunions. When I first visited Dr. DiStefano, he scanned both of my feet, confirmed the extent of the condition, and made recommendations regarding proper shoes to provide stability when walking. In addition, because of my surgery, I am unable to clip my toenails, because I no longer can cross my right leg. So I am on a regular schedule to have my nails clipped and have my feet assessed. About 15 years ago, I broke my ankle in three places and for some reason after I left the ER, they referred me to a orthopedic Doctor (Whom I would prefer not to mention their name because it was such a horrible experience. )He wanted to do surgery on me the very next day when I had so much swelling, there was no way it could've been done without problems . Dr John informed me and talked with me and explained everything that was necessary in order for me to have my surgery we waited a week. He did the surgery and I've had no problems with it since. I had a very good friend whom went to an orthopedic and she walks like a pirate unfortunately. Thank God, I left that orthopedic office in so much pain and went to Dr John and did such an amazing job that I barely had any swelling. it healed very quickly and he did it with one surgery. He always tries many other ways to deal with your foot issues other than trying to rush you into surgery like so many doctors do. I would never go to another podiatrist and I'm so grateful for him every day . He has always made me feel like I was his special patient.. I trust him completely and you would too. I know him because he was taking care of my sister who had to go through surgery for bunions and heel bumps, she is diabetic and suffers also from anxiety episodes. The problem is you have to go through something called "Upperline Health" to get to them. Village Podiatry doesn't have a direct phone line. So you call in, go through all the prompts, listen to classical music for 3 minutes, then you get hung up on or told "Nobody is answering the phone." I've been calling for 3 days now, trying to get through to Village Podiatry. How does this even happen in the modern era of medicine? So to recap, Village Podiatry, you're wonderful, but your answering service and parent company is 3rd world country level of experience.

When the doctor eventually came in, I overheard him say, "Uh-oh, I'm in trouble," which just felt unprofessional and dismissive of the situation. The assistant with him didn't greet me, say anything, or acknowledge me at all. The whole vibe was cold and uncomfortable. Between this and my past issues with billing--where I was told I owed something I clearly didn't--this place has become extremely unwelcoming. I won't be coming back.
